Unhappy Feather Farm Question

Ok I seen the farm on youtube about Nahpui Quarter farming for feathers... they were all using the 330 rit.. well I can't do it. The rangers and rits keep staying alive for some reason...

I also heard outside LA is good... my 55 monk wont work because of Shatter Enchantment.. and on the 600 monk they arent generating enough damage for some good damage(about 18 dmg)

Also I tried outside LA using 330 rit and its not working either. The hexes and all that degen is just hurting me.

Anyone have a suggestion for a good place to farm for feathers? I am getting no luck at this.

Thanks!

I like the Tengu outside LA myself. I get feathers of course, but the Scalps are also used by the collectors at Halloween and Wintersday. Also, you can farm the Fire Imps for scales and charcoal as well. I do it with a 55 Necro myself. Yes, Shatter Enchantment from the Wilds is hard to deal with, but not impossible. The build I use for it is:

16 Blood Magic
9 Healing Prayers
9 Protection Prayers
6 Soul Reaping

Protective Spirit
Healing Breeze
Spoil Victor
Life Siphon
Awaken the Blood
Essence Bond
Balthazar's Spirit
Mending

You have 3 maintained enchantments, so you will still have some energy regen, but not much. With those attributes you have +10 health regen from Mending and Healing Breeze. Life Siphon allows you to deal with the Conjure Phantasm and burning (from the Fire Imps). The key to taking out the Wilds is covering PS and HB with Awaken. Target the Wilds first and cast SV immediately. Use Life Siphon on the other tengu near the Wild once you have SV on it. This will counter the degen from Phantasm to help you out. They will interrupt it almost every time as they also have Cry of Frustration, but it recharges fast. Just make sure they interrupt Life Siphon and not PS or HB.

If there are 2 Wilds in the group, make sure you are ready to recast Healing Breeze. They will shatter Awaken and Breeze, so replace Breeze as quick as you can. Chances are good they will Cry it, but it can be done.

It took me a while to learn, but once you know the patrol routes and spawn locations you can even take on 3 Wilds if done VERY carefully. 2 or 3 Wilds in one group will most likely kill you, but you can always get 1 killed before you die if you know how. If you take a -20 offhand you can rez with 13 health instead of 55. This allows you to take on larger groups as you only take 1 damage per hit.... but the degen will be harder to handle.

Never liked using Nahpui to farm feathers myself so I can't provide info for there.

I have a question about the OP, does anyone have a link to where I could find the route to the Nahpui Quarter farm? Or do you kinda just run around and kill what you find.

Maybe I'm wrong, but in the big Necro guide there was a point when farming Nahpui to wand healers so they won't use one of their skill so often. Maybe it'll help

Nahpui quarter can be done in hm with 600/smite - the only difficulty i found was after a break and anet changed Iw and that caught me out.
Caromi outside la - 600/smite in hm is way easy , scope the groups for the mesmers and put up spellbreaker before aggro and they should all be dead usually by time it runs out.
Fire imps are problematic due to spellbreaker - soon as spellbreaker activates they do wand dmg and that wont activate spirit bond as its dmg is way too low.
What a few of us does is - start at bergen and run upwards and kill caromi on the route to N.kryta province exit and then come down onto the caromi mobs then when done ( i think theres around 60 in hm ) run bk to exit then either rezone back in or head back down to bergen.

Like Don Ico asked - can someone please post either a route map or a guide as i cant find myself which portal is best to use.

I use a VwK build outside of LA like mentioned above (from D'Alessio Seaboard). It can kill any of the bosses except the Mo & E (in HM). The only problems are 1) if you're caught off guard and get Arcane Echo shattered or something 2) If you try to run away from the Imps they'll use Rodgort's on you.

It can be hard to take down the tengu in nahpui with a 330 build if there is a high ratio of rits, like two star lights and two sentinels. But it can be done, just keep spiking away at them with vengeful weapon and reversal of damage. However, you will never kill solo star lights. Just kill everything else and run past them, it saves time and headaches.

Also would you mind clarifying if you were in HM or NM? I often run normal mode for ease. I get maybe 3/4 of the feather drops but its twice as easy and fast, so I think I win out. Though I usually use a flashing blades assassin for that.

Imps are quite easy to kill with 600 smite. Put BS instead of LA on smiter. Then you take Rad Field and PI. Agro the imps and then ball em up. When they are all balled go next to them put SBr on and SoA on recharge. When you put SBr and SoA up just start using Rad Field. Quite easy and fast.

I use Mobieus on my Sin, and go to the left. Not sure if it's the best, but I normally get to the 2nd/3rd boss with 75 feathers or so in 12 minutes without much problems. You can try to test out other routes, but I just start with the monk boss and ignore it.

The build I posted allows me to kill all the Tengu, including the bosses, all the Fire Imps, and even the Skales. The only things I found that were tough to take out were the Power Block Mergoyles on the beach, but I rarely bother going that far.

Takes me about 30 minutes to clear all the Fire Imps and Tengu, and I start at LA. Usually die once or twice, but it isn't hard to recover from a few deaths.

I farmed these pretty easy with a flashing blades sin. I lost the template a while ago, if I remember correctly, it was something along these lines:

[dwarven stability][flashing blades][unsuspecting strike][wild strike][death blossom][critical strike][critical agility]

Of course, a high dwarf/SS rep helps, but it actually doesn't matter that much. It was pretty easy to farm these in HM with vamp daggers. I also might have taken out critical strike and thrown in vigorous spirit with 8 in healing prayers, but it's been a while.

For Nahpui HM Farm:

600 Tank Template Code: OwAU0C3+UoO6DAydVLWP8ZW/9BA

Smiter Build: Purge Signet, Blessed Signet, Blood is Power, Vital Blessing, Retribution, Holy Wrath, Balthazar's Spirit, Rebirth.

With enough experience and route runs can be done in about 25-30mins average.

I always start from monk boss so its: Monk > Necro > Ele > Mesmer > Finish the run from where you started.

The only mesmer builds i can think of that could be used - La = if you have a decent 600 tank who can cope without Bip - go for me/mo bonder just as gd as a mo/x bonder.Or for sensali in nm in jaya bluffs can easily be done by a me/rt echo vwk build - its possible to tank 2 mobs with a max of 5 necros all together.Yes i said normal mode but anyone who has farmed the sensali in nm will know how much a pain the necros can be as they are touchers.
Muc theres an easier way which dont even involve pi or rf - mo/d with some points in earth - you can sit thru imps burning you etc or as i do - dont use spellbreaker at all and tank the dmg with ease and if by accident you screw spellbreaker against the caromi ( bad timing as a mob catches aggro for eg ) you can still survive the mesmers in hm - its my prefered variation of 600
