Anything will work.... but sin is easiest and it is also best for the running part. I've seen a dervish do it with VoW, but sin still better. Jus gotta make sure you drop the keg before castin enchants, especially SF, or you won't get the 20% enchant bonus from staff or weapon set.

Sin can also use Dark Escape for running, and for tanking AoE damage along combined wit Feigned Neutrality.

Glyph of Swiftness, Obsidian Flesh, Stoneflesh Aura, Mantra of Earth and geomancer armour, you could use that but it will be much slower.

That's why you should PM me all your secrets builds before I post em!!!

If you are going for Vaettir I'd use RezzDogg's build. I was originally posting a balanced build good for Vanquishing, the Pics were to highlight the speed and ease at which you can kill (and not the uber leet purple daggers drops).

I'm betting the Nerf won't come for this, although I can already see the A/E20s gathering in Sifhalla D1...

Dude, you didn't ask for help you just started asking a million stupid questions. You didn't read the entire thread, you didn't have the build. (mine or Rezz's) & when you died you blame the build.

I'm all for helping but I think you're beyond help...

Come on this easier than Ursan!!

Tried!, Easy & fun as promised :P.

If only drops were as good as they were...
Thanks for sharing this .

I dont think that is gonna be nerfed soon, as adding time to get barrel will only be the same as Rezz described above: 18 barrels. No matter what time.

And you still have to travel through zones (hate modnirs' stomp ) and got no uber-drop + uber-points, just few items (maybe more if you dont getdropgetdropgetdrop so fast). Vaettir drop no voltaic spears lol.

Still good for 2*reputation weekends.
Thanks again.

PD: using the fast method i still got about 1-2 golds per run so it doesnt hurt to do it the fun way.

It's sad to see a guy like Rezz now so jaded that he wont post builds for farming, something that we as a community have appreciated over the years because of anet's nerf policy

Nice ss Devilman

Just had a thought for Vaettir, you could count off 17 Kegs (1 away from Death). Then Cast Sliver Armor to finish them off 1 at a time...
should help improve drops.

Something like this...

I really want to test the whole max hp= less drops thing then. I really don't think that max hp should affect it any, but then again who knows.

tbh, I don't think that keg dropping rates effects items exempt from loot scaling; I tried both exact numbers of drops to kill the vaettirs and super-keg spam and got around the same average of golds and tomes, which is the only reason I'm doing the farm in the first place. I don't even bother picking up the whites, blues or grapes; the iding and salvaging takes more effort, and the mats end up taking up some more of the spaces that could be used for golds. Not that I really need the merch food either; a full bag of golds has averaged about 9k in merch value for me after iding, even without any notable mods.

It is sad to see that this farm run will get nerfed by anet as rezzdog says, at least i was able to make some money off it before the cat was outa the bag.

I believe it will get nerfed for this reason alone: anet wants people to be playing for the next 1-2 years until gw2 comes out and to do that they need to slow down the rate at which everyone farms for titles thus the reasoning of only wknd events. If people have played thru all the quests/missions with as many toons that they can then titles are all thats left too accomplish and once people finish with that then they will likely move on to another game (unless by some luck Anet decides to add some more content in the furure) but thats just my theory.

All in all it is a good farm for golds and event items.

I agree b/c 2010 is far away, but by that same logic why wouldn't they nerf Raptors then?

Because raptors can't be considered an exploit in any way. You're just running around killing a group of monsters, with your own skills. ANet has already proven that they don't like this method of farming (or at least they don't as it applied to HoS) so if this was nerfed it wouldn't really be a surprise. In this method you just use a few skills to stay alive, and kill everything using the blackpowder barrels.

when GW2 comes out? so you mean like 4 winters from now then?

I remember when you posted those screenshots a long time ago and boasted about having a farming spot, but wouldn't actually tell anyone. Caused quite the drama if I remember right.

I've done the run a billion times, but the modniir bastards keep hitting me with Trample. I don't get KDed because I bring Dwarven Stability and 3 stacks of Grogs, but how do you get there without run skills/anti-kd and manage to use Burning Speed and Frigid Armor?

And I know you must use those for running, but how do you avoid the Tramples? Any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

You can run through Drakkar without aggroing any Modniir. As for Norrhart Domains, you have to take a middle route through the map, and take the back way to the next zone. There is only one group of Modniir you can't avoid, but no biggie, just blast them with kegs, or run through. Sometimes that last group will fight another group giving you an easy run by, but all in all you shouldn't have no problems. Once you get the run down, it should only take about 6 minutes total to get to Spectrals.

Another thing, don't use anything besides Dark Escape w/ Dwarven Stability, and Mindbender for the running part. As for any AoE damage, you can use Dark Escape and Feigned Together to reduce damage while spamming kegs... you can also use Ebon Escape for a quick heal if you have to.
