Default A/Me Vaettir HM Farmer

I was thinking about how I was going to farm with wintersday in july comin' up, and just figured I'd stick with my usual e/me vaettir farmer. I was playing around on my assassin earlier, farming tombs with degen when I realized I could do the exact same thing at vaettirs.

Equipment-Shadow arts mask+sup shadow arts rune, everything else radiant/attunments
You NEED a 20% weapon mod.

Usuage:
zone in, get the reputation thingy. Put on 1,2,3 in that order, then channeling. Collect vaettirs on the north spawn. If you get bodyblocked, teleport out using Death's charge. Once you have the whole spawn, make sure they are facing a wall. Cast ether nightmare, cry of pain, then radition field. Make sure you keep chanelling up. When sf is going down, use your echo'd version. You should use when it's in the bottom left corner.
Video shows you how it's done .

Yeah, I've been using that for a while for things like Snowmen ect.. Should work fine for Vaettirs.

On a side note, are holiday items scaled?

I was wondering the same thing about holiday items. The Vaettirs always seem to drop more holiday items than the raptors.

at the moment i have tried both the a/e burning build and the a/me obsid tank versions but neither look as fast as this. my sin dosen't have either knightmare or radiation field and i cant be bothered to do all the questing to get both, if I just got either knightmare what would be a good replacement for radiation field? or am I better off sticking with the builds I have?

Holiday items are not affected by loot scaling according to the wiki article. Sorry I'm too lazy to post the link.

I recognize the music in that YouTube video... It's the background music from one of the Elder Scrolls games (without the rapping).

That background music would be the soundtrack from the original Guild Wars login screen (pre-Factions).

Radiation field is useless, your degen is already capped 99% of the time, and they're immune to disease. Bring a running skill to make it easier instead, I like dark escape. It also makes the run faster, with channeling, you should never run out of energy. Just note: If you use a cupcake/other IMS that brings you to above a 30%, the vaettir will scatter very shortly after grabbing aggro. Almost as much as NM.

May be a dumb question, but, how does this build compare to the E/Me cry of pain build? faster?

This is the build I'm referring to that I use for glacial and special event weekend drops and I found it very easy.

You can actually farm all 60 vaettir (both sides) in less than 4 minutes with the right body block and combo. By body block I mean using the spot on the right, and the tree on the left; and by combo I mean:
Ether Nightmare > wait 5 secs > cast Radiation Field > cast Cry of Pain, that's like 14 secs of -10 degen, and 5 extra secs of -5 degen, time enough to recast the combo over and over again...

Here's a screenshot of a normal run, even taking the blessing and picking up the trash...

I'm sure you could switch out radiation field for an IMS, but I like to stick with it because you only need the IMS when you're running to jaga, which doesn't take too long-and since you only have to do it once you won't get much use out've that IMS.

What would Shadow of Haste be good for in this run?

So you can cast it as soon as youre in the zone, go kill everything, take drops, and not waste time running back, instead shadow of haste would just teleport you back to the gate.

surely this has no chance of working for one it only lasts about 40 seconds and two Deadly Paradox would end it early. am i missing something? I suppose you could use recall though.

EDIT dont bother trying recall it dosen't go far enough

I was thinking about shadow of haste, and there's only one use for it IMO. Go to the spot where you plan to pin them against the wall, use shadow of haste with sf on, gather them up, and when it runs out you'll teleport back and they should still be aggro'd and head back towards you to the wall. But seeing as a stance I dunno how it would work :|

Yea I cant think of a good use for shadow of haste, btw IMS is also helpful for rounding up the mob as in hm they wont break agro

Well, with shadow of haste you could use Deadly Paradox -> Arcane Echo -> SF -> Shadow of haste -> Aggro -> Echoed SF -> SF. You would have to kill them and pick aggro before shadow of haste expires (it lasts 42 seconds, SF is not a problem). I think you could use dwarven stability to make it last longer tough.

Altough I don't think it would work for me 'cause I'm a little slow when aggroing :P
