Even before EoTN was launched I had already began farming feathers which was because I saw the opportunity when farming CapSon Letters. With EoTN came the demand for Essence of Celerity, hence prices of feathers shot through the roof. Needless to say I made my pile from that and never look back. I introduced some people to what I was doing and they are doing well selling consets in ToA now. To wilebill, the raptor boss often drop scrolls so use that to do vaettirs as suggested. I do that too when I need to increase my points and kill two birds with one stone as you also get materials from the salvages.

Of course there are always friends you can go to who will oblige by crafting them for you as a great number of them are not interested in this aspect of gaming. Some friends of mine does a lot of dungeon runs and VQ and have accumulated skill points they do not need.

I am glad the OP has let the cat out of the bag as I am like wilebill, tired of farming repeatedly although it is a good fallback should I ever have the need to get more game money. So happy farming to all who are interested in selling consets.

This guide won't reduce the price on consets. The fact that the materials are cheaper than the set is no secret to anyone who can do math. When you buy a conset, you pay for the convenience. Sure it's cheaper to buy all the materials and craft them yourself, but most people would rather pay a little extra to just grab the set at ToA and get right into the speed clear.

Id just like to say thanks actually. Id been hording mats on a storage char for a while now, this convinced me to do something and stop just taking up the storage space.

So I crafted 10 sets, all gone in ToA in a little over 2mins @ 8k ea.

Sure the price might drop a little but this guide is great, whether you farm, buy or craft for your own use and thats the point, someone posted a good guide on how to cash in on consets (thats both for profit and for personal use imo). Thanks Harrow

great article, thanks.

I have tried to make consets for cash, but its way to boring for me. so i farm the materials and just sell them off. sure i make less profit but i'm having fun playing the game.

just a note on feather farming , i use this on my rt in jaya its fun and just as quick as the ele OAWjEOiMJTSAXTVOeTUPDgNTOTA procedure is the same, 7 8 before aggro, 1,2,2,3,4 and 5 if you need to heal. can clear the area in 10 min easy. and yes this is my own build but i doubt its original. theres only so many combinations you can do.

This does seem like old news, and I doubt it's going to cause a permanent flood in new conset vendors (maybe a short-term spike tho). What does strike me as odd, however, is that apparently conset prices are now 8k. I'll admit, it's been a while since I've been interested in buying/selling them, but back around 6 months ago there were lots trying to sell them for 7k and waiting many minutes for a sale, while some did it for 5/6k for the quick sell. Did the price really inflate to 8k since then, and is it stable?

Hmm? FWIW, iron/dust readily sell for 4k/3k respectively, so these are prices I use. 1 conset sale will net you 2.65k, at 8k sales price. It should be clear to anyone that the markup price is simply the cost of obtaining 15 skill points, as they are a limited commodity that must be earned through experience grind/farm. At this profit, you would have to sell 189 consets. This means you're selling 1 conset every 1min15sec for 8k, which seems unlikely given all the competition and a prerequisite of monstrous demand. Not only that, but it also requires 567 skill points. My main has 560 skill points, and among 3 of my primary farming alts (war/ele/sin - mostly HM raptor/vaettir farm exp) there's an additional 3,316 points (over 787 hours). Finally, you would need 72 stacks of iron, 72 stacks of dust, 38 stacks of feathers, and 38 stacks of bones. Not only is this a storage problem, but there is time involved in purchasing and obtaining them all (as well as time converting to cons at each of the 3 merchants). 4 hours for all this work just doesn't seem possible.

So, I guess it's possible to do this once, but then you're depleted of all skill points and must do some serious experience farm/grind. You'll get 1 skill point approximately every 2.3 HM raptor runs, and I suppose scrolls could be used to speed that up. But at that rate and assuming the fastest build (1 min turnaround time), you'll get 15 skill points every ~30 minutes of farm. Maybe there's some dungeon farm that can do better, but I'd guess it'd be fairly similar rate-wise.

Prolly worth depleting available skill points for plat if you can do it fast (880 gold per point @ 8k). I just see a problem in trying to sell at 8k in a decent amount of time. I'm not one that likes spending time in an outpost selling - just not fun, mostly a waste of time to me. I'd rather sell iron/dust/feathers *FAST*, make what consumables I need for myself, and get back to playing.

what i meant to say is that the OP is on guru at all today but not on GW at all today doesnt make since to sit on forums if you dont play only to flame people, also you have to have the requied ranks on all the charas so if you dont have it you lose out on skill points and/or money if you craft stars

i understand work and whatnot but thats not very productive unless you actully work for guru, honestly if i was your boss and you spent all day on a game forum you would be looking for a new job

also if you actually UW or FoW you get 10k exp for beating the quests and accepting the rewards, yeah this might slow the SC part if you are doing several but 11 quests give 105k exp (only if you grabbed take the clear chamber quest)

As suggested, for sellers buying huge amounts of mats does not gel. 50 consets = 750 skill points and one cannot keep doing this everyday as all skill points in the account will be depleted in no time at all.

Earlier I suggested farming in HM as a way to increase skill points and using scrolls as and when possible. Anyone in this business knows that there is a time lapse between upping the skill points(farming mats at the same time) and crafting after getting enough skill points to cover it.

I also suggested getting good friends who can do it(because they have no need for large amounts of skill points), to craft the consets for you. Lol am I introducing a new business?

Therefore continuous crafting of consets is pretty difficult for most players and at the end of the day, the huge amount of profit expected to be made may take far longer to achieve.

close this thread please. the OP is drastically overtouchy to criticism, espicially at the point of blatant unconstructive attacks about pve at members of reputable high end pve guilds and alliances about pve. Hey OP, this game is rated PG-13.
