Default Funniest farmbuild and area

As we all know, if you wanna get rich just get yourself a Perm.Sin.

But what if you don't want to do that. And just want to farm inbetween, couse
you need some mony for a new armor or weapon.
Wel, that is exactly the case with my Necromancer.
I don't want to put to much effort and time in farming, I don't have to be
ubber rich. I just wanna have fun in what I'm doin.

So I farm some feathers. They grant a nice income these days and its fun.

Before I tell how and where, I really want to know more funnie builds of other
people who are farming without the usual things. So no perma builds please
And please tell us also where and how, so we can share the fun things that
keeps us busy.

The area's where I use this build is Jaya Buffs (Cantha) and North Kryta (tyria).

It isn't really fast, but you can get some savings of it. if you are lucky you get
2 stacks of feathers in a hour + the extra's as runes and goldies and dyes.
But keep in mind. That this is all in Normal Mode

So this is the build I use, and I often use a summoning stone as extra.

And this is the template code. : OAJUYMCXYbR+B0GHVlMfBxi7iui

So if there are more peeps that just farm for fun with alternative builds and
area's please share.

I farm there, like you.
I don't know if it count, but I do with my lovely spirits + summon spirits.

Or I do with Vengeful was Khanai, LoD, Ancestor's Rage, Spirit Rift, Vengeful weapon + 2 optionals skills (heal or running speed).
The run last 9-10 mins.

My one and only farm, besides the occasional HM CoF 600/smite run with my GL, is in North Kryta Province in NM.

I use my derv there, along with a team of Tahlk, Margrid, and Zenmai (they aren't necessary but make things go faster).

Build:
Scythe Mastery 16
Mysticism 13
Kurzick rank 4 (though it works at any level)
Skills:
Zealous Renewal
Vow of Strength
Aura of Holy Might
Heart of Fury
Mystic Sweep
Zealous Sweep
Victorious Sweep
Chilling Victory

Tahlk is a straight healer, Margrid is Splinter Barrage, and Zenmai is a generic Moebius Strike assassin build + Splinter Weapon
My scythe is a Dwayna's Grace, not that it is particularly vital.

The farm itself targets the Tengu in the province, to farm either for feathers (quite profitable) or for holiday items (trick-or-treat bags, etc). It works pretty well... and until today, I didn't know anyone else had thought of it.

Haha, now that we've both suggested it I hope the entire GW population doesn't run off to NKP to farm feathers.

I think that would of happend long before, we are not the only ones who are
doin this, and as long perma sins rome UW, there will be a market for feathers.

But ty never the less, It didn't cross my mind to try it with my Dervish.
So that might be a nice change in the winds.

If your not just looking for feather farming builds then, Edge of Extinction farming grawl outside of droks is pretty fun. It uses Whirling defense and other blocking skills to stay alive and kill the grawl. You can either use MoP to kill stuff faster or Vengeful was khanhei, for more suviability.

Its a pretty old farming area, and there are few vids on youtube i think

Indeed, it isn't just about farming feathers.
I want to know a lot of other stuff aswel so I can play most of my
characters in differnt area's to prevent that 1 thing is getting boring.

A other thing I do is with my Necro aswel. And that is Dust farming.
Also a very old route, I'm doin this for 4 year's already on that place.
It's I'll think wel known. It's the route in Thalmar Wilderniss starting fromout
ToA.

This is the build I use these day's

This is the code: OAljYwE8pStB+B1QcCuBYY7iui

It's a realy fun place, lots of nightmares spawning in the total area.
and besides that, there are lots Oakhearts and Aloe's that drop plantfibers,
Lots of Fire Imps that drops Lumbs of charcoal and Scales and more foe's
that drop other things.

A large and nice place that keeps you busy for a while

Does anyone have an effective way of farming the Krait in Arbor Bay? My dervish build works all right there, but it's not outstanding. And scales are a pain in the butt to come by... Krait seem to be the best target.

I use spirits for Krait, though you have to be very careful with aggro since more than a couple will overwhelm them.

I use these with my Dervish in Jaya Bluffs sometimes; it's actually quite effective, though you need to be careful that you don't let the Sensali overwhelm you at first. They're totally travesties I stuck together using bits of another farmbuild I saw, but eh. It works

Huh. Well, I think I have most of those skills, actually... I was using Sliver Armor in my farming builds for a long time, before finally deciding that the short duration wasn't worth the cost. But I think I'll try it out again.

Oh, and I also use that build of mine to farm Rock and Rain Beetles in the Holdings of Chokhin. It's not super profitable, but if you're a cheapskate like me, it's a decent way to get gems for Vabbian armor. The salvage rate for gems off the Geodes is fairly slim, but they do have a chance of producing any of the three gems, and out of maybe 80 or so Geodes I think I've gotten maybe 7 gems. You rack up a decent Sunspear total, too.

Well, i had a lot of fun one year ago vanquishing almost all of Kryta with a necro 55/SV (solo)

For most of the areas i had to try 3-4 times until i found the build and the strategies which could make me kill all of the different foes.

It wasn't for money, nor for materials and such, just for the challenge and the fun^^

However, i used some variations on the 55/SV to farm a lot of mobs, and it was really fun..

Normal mode? North Kryta? Thought I was the only one into "fun farming!" Farm up some fun!

My favorite in North Kryta outside Lion's Arch is a slight variant of the "Spun Ducky" Ranger Build, spirit spammer. It really works well.

12 Expertise (sup rune on hat)
8 Communing
10 Restoration
10 Channeling

Spirit Leech Aura
Armor of Unfeeling
Signet of Spirits, Elite
Vampirism (Sunspear)
Bloodsong
Pain
Painful Bond
Spirit Light

Weapon: Any old Longbow you happen to have. The Longbow is useful at range. Staff, a Ssyn's Staff works very well and adds a tad of damage. But energy is no problem with just the longbow. After picking up loot you are ready to go and put out spirits for the next combat or aggro the next group to the spirits you already have.

Armor: Whatever you happen to throw on.

See the genuine Spun Ducky Thread here:

Note that one of the videos is N-Kryta Tengu Feather Farming HM. I don't use it in HM much myself. Gets to be tedious and more like work. His music in the videos is ... er ... different. I like to turn it way down, like off.

The spirits will work in a surprising number of areas, normal mode; not only N. Kryta. I farmed the Jade Bracelets with it last week; only groups that gave me any trouble at all were those with Ritualists and blow away the Ritualists and rest went down.

A other thing I farm for fun, and yes also on Normal Mode, couse it isn't
for the casual drops, Are the Skale's and Drakes in Istan.
I save the Skalefins and the Chunk of Drakeflesh so I can change them into
consumables.

Lots of guildies think I'm mad couse it takes some time to get these.
but hey, its all about fun.

I farmed only in HM (NM was too easy, and i love challenges :P)..it was quite a while ago though. I started doing Tengu runs (outside Lion's Arch) for feathers and the occasional Elite Tomes: actually, i loved this farm more than any other, mostly because i love kryta's landscape^^, and that of the tengu's area in particular.
I was able to do also ettins and skales, so i said to myself: "why don't we try to kill everything here?" (plural majestatis lol, quite common in italian). So after several tries i was able to vanquish North Kryta province.

Another good farming spot was Talmark Wilderness: Fog Nightmares (for glittering dust), Forest Minotaurs, Inferno Imps and Ancient Oakheart. I wasted a lot of time wandering around that place killing everything..there was a time when i really loved this things . Then i learned to do also mergoyles and skales (really long and painful, i assure you..) and vanquished that area too..

Then i vanquished also Scoundrel's Rise and The Black Courtain (needed to swap from 55 to 600 armor here, for chillblains), Nebo Terrace, Watchtower Coast (this was a hell, those damned mergoyles and skales groups.., don't remember how many times i tried it), Cursed Lands (vanquished in 11 mins with my necro 600 and hero smiter , it was a pain to do with a regular 55/SV, for hex removal)..i missed only Kessex Peak (didn't know how to do those verata guys). I vanquished also Old Ascalon and Deldrimor Bowl (really simple this one)

Another fun place was Spearhead Peak: exit from Copperhammer Mines, then head north-east, killing imps, golems, avicaras and oaks, and the first groups of Stone Summit's warriors and rangers..(then there are groups with mesmers..never bothered to try them though).

Well, i mostly farmed with my old necro, because i loved it..then deleted and recreated all my chars..
Now i only farm when i need it, because i'm learning PvP, and this takes a lot of my time.

I love that build. It works for pretty much everything. My Ritualist runs pretty much solely that these days, for both farming and regular PvE. I tried VwK farming and went "...no. Screw this.". Though I use Spirit Siphon and Summon Spirits instead of SLA and Spirit Light.

It rocks <3 I use it in Jaya Bluffs a lot, NKP both NM and HM (though I don't like HM, too annoying), Nahpui, pretty much anywhere in the Echovald, used it last week in Pongmei for Rot Wallow Tusks...love it.

scoundrels rise with ele NM all enemies
using something like aura of resto, healing breeze, phoenix, fireball, w/e aoe fire you want flame burst and such - just run up to big group and pound away with fire - you do have to ball up enemies sometimes by backing up first, and dont wand on the mergoyles ;p

I tried this out on trolls once... can probably work on other things too.

Cyclone Axe,Whirlwind Attack, Mental Block, Conviction, Eternal Aura, Avatar of Grenth
And 2 optionals. Uses the lifestealing from Grenth to stay alive, while dealing good damage to all adjacent enemies.

If you're looking for Scales, farm the Hydra outside of Augury Rock in NM:

Warrior/Mesmer

12+1 Tactics
12+1+1 Strength
3 Inspiration Magic

Mantra of Flame
Defy Pain
Dolyak Signet
Deadly Riposte
Riposte
Power Attack
Counterattack
Healing Signet

Sentinel's Helm of Minor Strength
Sentinel's Cuirass of Vigor (best you can afford)
Sentinel's Gloves of Minor Tactics
Sentinel's Leggings of Vitae
Sentinel's Boots of Vitae

Strength/Tactics Shield: +10AL vs. Fire, +45hp^Stance
any Sword: +7AL vs. Elemental, Vampiric/Furious

This is a modified version of an old build that I used to use, back before the armor-stacking nerf (back then it included "Watch Yourself!"). You need no points in Swordsmanship because Riposte/Deadly Riposte do all the work. Power Attack is in there for +36 damage every 3 seconds since the Hydras use Fire Magic and Mantra of Flame will keep the energy rolling in. If you notice that Power Attack spam is chewing through your energy, don't spam it.

This build is slow, but you will get plenty of Dessicated Hydra Claws, which salvage into 5-7 Scales each, or they can be turned in to Mourn Drakespur, who is along the run, for:

req9 +12e, 20/20 Inspiration Magic Jeweled Chakram
req9 11-22 Dark dmg, +10e, 20% HSR all, 20% HCT Curses Wicked Staff
req9 +12e, 20/20 Healing Ankh
req9 15-28 15^50 Shortbow

Runs from Augury Rock around the ring will take ~30 minutes, but it's an easy farm for Scales, and while slow, could be considered a "fun" farm.

Hmmm... HM Zehlehlun farm that I used on my Ranger for golden eggs and stuff.

Shadow of Haste
Dark Escape
"You Are All Weaklings!"
Death's Charge
Whirling Defense
Feigned Neutrality
Ursan Blessing
Edge of Extinction

Pretty self explanatory, use Whirling Defense to kill and everything else to stay alive. Ursan is in case the boss doesn't die from EoE.

Grenth's Balance warrior solos...
I don't even remember the build anymore, something like

Healing Signet
Dolyak Signet
Riposte
Deadly Riposte
Grenth's Balance
Bonetti's Defense
'Watch Yourself!"
idk

Solo green farms in SF and Grenth's Footprint... woot (now all replaced by A/Es... how boring)

Kill ettins with:
Storm Chaser
Sympethetic Visage
Ancestors Visage
Primal Echoes
Famine [E]
Physical Resistance
Troll Unguent
Illusion of Weakness

6 ettins die before you do (or at least they used to when I used this build 2 years ago) in NM ofc
