Default Raptors - how many event items/hour?

It seems W/N is de rigeur for raptor farming, since it has the fastest time per run.

That's great for Asura points, but the only reason I farm Raptors is for event items. So I don't care about what build does the run fastest... I care about what build gets the most event items per hour.

So my question is - does W/N also get the most event items/hour?
Or does it even out, because killing multiple foes simultanously with AoE results in less drops? Is it worth getting my Warrior (currently a storage mule) to Rata Sum?

My Sliver Armor E/Me has consistently given me about 160 event items/hour average in the past (that's when multiple item types are dropping - if only a single event item is dropping, the rate is often lower).

This weekend I farmed a couple of hours to make sure my build still worked after the MoR nerf (it does, yay!). Solo, no leeches, I got 90 grogs/hour average. Seems pretty low, but it might have been an unlucky couple of hours. That includes time spent selling junk to the merch.

How many grogs/hour is everyone else getting from Raptors? And using what type of build?

No need to post actual skill bars, and I mean actual drops counted over a FULL hour - not drops in 30 minutes multiplied by two etc, or any other calculated figure.

I would take the guess that w/n would result in more grog per hour. The faster you kill mobs the more over all mobs you farm and thus more likely chance to get grogs. Hence why vaettir kegging used to be about as good as raptor farming.

My guess would be drop your ele make a w/n and get more grog.

Though the event ended early due to a bug most likely so will have to wait for them to re-activate it.

Well yeah, common sense says W/N "ought" to be getting more... even if drop rate is lower due to AoE, the sheer speed of the run "should" more than make up for it. But I'd like to hear some actual drop rates/hour before bother running my Warrior to Rata Sum.

I'm not interested in grog particularly - maxed drunkard ages ago, and I have plenty of booze in storage if I ever want to use Drunken Master etc. I'm thinking of Thanksgiving and Halloween when there will be USEFUL stuff dropping...

EDit: Hmm. I wonder how much difference it would make to use the W/N's Paragon hero with my Ele. Didn't know the event had finished early, I hope they bring it back so I can test it.

Pretty sure people used to do extensive tests of killing slower. Yeah you got more white drops, but the aoe killing caused a lot more kills per hour which resulted higher in event items.

due to the fact that event items aren't effected by loot scaling... i would guess that w/n gives more grog/hour ... i farm w/n myself and i got ~ 200 grog/h

the drop rate of white items i lower.. but golds aren't effected by lootscaling aswell so... it's quite effordable ...

Well I got around 2 stacks in around 3 hours, casually farming though. You know, during the 2 hour brakes from GvG's or HA and stuff..

Event items aren't affected by killing large/small mobs.
Same goes for goldies, rare mats and lockpicks.

Event items are excluded from loot scaling. So just kill as many foes as fast as possible to get them.

Thanks for posting your numbers. Sounds encouraging.

Did anyone else farm with an E/Me Mist Form/Sliver build, for comparison?

My own E/Me drop rate was pretty low, but I only did 2 hours... I was playing in International due to some unusual (for me) lag in my normal Euro hunting ground... and I don't know what's "normal" for grogs using E/Me build (didn't farm them last year, and they weren't in the game the year before that)

Well, regardless... I guess it's best to clean out my Warrior's inventory, get her to Rata Sum, practice the W/N routine a bit... and see for myself what the numbers look like when Halloween is on.

Hmm. Wonder if that build will survive the SF nerf bat, once Anet gets around to it...

In my experience, killing everything at once with AoE certainly has a negative effect on "regular" drops. But I am not sure what the impact is for event item items specifically, if any. I'll be testing that at Halloween.
