Default Will the new update be good or bad for Consets?

I am wondering this as I await the impending nerf to Permas and whatever other farm builds they go after. Are Perma's the majority of the Conset market? Or will the need increase as new builds are being tested post nerf. I've found that farming mats for Consets has been as profitable as 600 UW farming for me, as well as fun.

Any speculations?

They said they are hitting SF and other prominent farming SKILLS. not things that help these skills. Cons won't be effected.

You misunderstand the question.

I believe consets will lose value considering the vast majority are used for speed clears. The vast majority of speed clears use Shadow Form. New speed clears will be invented but it will take some time before they start becoming "pug-able" and therefore will be confined to just a few guilds doing the run for a while.

I have seen feathers already take a plunge at trader to 9k per stack. However, it has begun to rise again since SF wasn't nerfed last thursday. Following this trend I believe that prices of materials required to make cons will fall and therefore the prices of cons fall.

There are two sides to this arguement, both valid.

1. The majority of Consumable users are indeed SF users mainly that of Celerity's, if SF gets nerfed to that of being unusable, then in turn Feathers should drop because the demand isnt that high. The price is high at the moment because the demand is virtually unlimited.

-but-

2. There is the another arguement that cons will either rise or stay the same, because these cons help not just SF, but also any other profession that is trying to accomplish an objective. If a broader class range is benefitting from con usage in speed clears, then they will rise. If the speed clears just change to another class depending on other skills that were hit, or even if SF doesnt get hit hard enough then, the consets will probably stay about the same.

This is my idea on what is going to happen. if SF becomes unusable, then Consets will drop, but after guilds start finding the new ways to do UW/FoW/DoA/Deep/Urgoz/Dungeons then they will go back up once those builds and tactics are released to the general community. When released to the general community, the demand will increase thus creating a market for them once again.

The vast majority of ppl in my alliance solve problems by throwing consets at them. Those people aren't going anywhere.

I'm sure feather prices and the essence of celerity prices will take a hit, but it should bottom out around the prices of the grail and armor, which I feel are slightly undervalued compared to the BU.

Consets won't be useless but they will probably drop in value. Also feathers and dust will lower in demand... lowering the price. SF was the main skill of most SC's.

the demand for cons of course will not disappear. they can be used for anything of course. but the the demand will definitely decrease. how much will it decrease? can't say. you will be going from using a majorly wide-used build that REQUIRES their use to them becoming completely optional. of course, they will be preferred, but still not required like before if SF is indeed killed. they will definitely become more difficult to just sell at random seeing as it is already a very niche market

Demand for cons will go down depending on how much SF is nerfed. The the perma is completely useless then expect hard drop, if perma can still tank with cons expect small drop. Anyways cons can still be useful in regular HM stuff.

Also consider that if the skills themselves are trashed, players will need to look to other ways of achieving the same kind of efficiency as before. And consumables are the prime candidate here. Which would mean an even bigger use of consumables.
And then there are the question of - how easy it will be for the masses to do the new farms (if you have a massive decrease in numbers of people doing them, the simple fact that the remaining people need more of them might not be enough to keep or raise the price) and if players will actually stay at these farsm - maybe they'll just move onto farms that do not require consumables.
