I always die at the first checkpoint, and I still dont know if I should kill the enemies there (the spider and the others), or if I should run by them.

If you don't kill that group, you risk getting crippled followed by multiple Protector's Strikes and possibly Wastrel's Worry a few times. Once you hit the skales, your health will probably be too low to survive the Life Transfer + Life Siphon.

Exactly what happened, then Ill have to be fast so I dont get killed the by the Shadow group that gets to the first checkpoint after some time again.

Another note: Is it possible to run Triple Chop + Cyclone Axe + Physical Resistance without a Zealous mod or Ill run out of energy in no time?

Well, Cyclone Axe alone would be 5 energy every 4 seconds. One pip of energy regen is one energy every 3 seconds. Triple Chop, 5 every 10 seconds... Physical Resistance, 10 every 50 seconds? (not sure, I don't use it myself).

and for those dying on the run using healing hands, i always found it useful to sub out an attack for healing signet just until i got the run down pat. that way you dont waste 1k

Probably faster if I turned off guild chat and just completely ignored the outside world.

ahh, but you love us too much to do that. =P

a dragon slash w/me build is fairly quick too. mouth of cave - end of cave is about 30-40 min.

you'll run out of energy fast. even with a zealous mod, the energy gain from attacking is just enough to fuel those 3 skills if you're attacking multiple targets. however, when you're down to 1-2 spiders, you need to cut down on the cyclone spam or you'll find physical resistance flashing with not enough energy to put it back up.

OK looks like I got the nac now for getting to the cave, killing the Dryders outside, letting the spidies spawn and come out, killing them off.

Then there is still the cave to do and that is where I get hung up. I shoot the Dryder with my bow to lure him out but he just runs back in, then I try to attack him before he runs back and and while I am attacking him the spidies drop behind me.

What should I do, should I first see if I can get them to drop to make sure there is no more spiders before I take out the first Dryder in the cave??

Thx for your help, BTW Racthoh I love the W/Mo build, works like a bomb

Ah yes, the dryders in cave can be a stubborn pain. Here is exactly what I do. This is with a longbow equipped as your pulling weapon:

1. Make sure you're well out of range, even out of the range of firing an arrow.
2. With the bow on, attack the dryder.
3. Rotate the screen as you run into range so you're looking at the front of your character.
4. Once your character is about to release the arrow, hold W (if you still have the default WASD setup) to move back towards the entrance of the cave.
5. Continue to hold down W until the dryder starts to move on your radar screen. At this point, rotate the screen back, and walk backwards (default s) until the dryder uses a spell on you. At this point, it has been pulled back far enough as to not walk into the trigger point for the spiders. As such, walk up to it and attack.

If you have downloaded the first video, you will see me use a similar strategy against the 3rd dryder at the outside of the cave.

I tried some of this, and came up with my own variation that works pretty fast.

Just as a heads up I used to pull 3 at a time, which is time consuming, but have modified the build alittle.

Currently, equiped with the geoffer's bulwark, _10vs piercing and +30hp, along with 15% in stance zealous axe of defense, and a good set of armor + absorbtion.

My bar looks like this

Cyclone, Whirling, spring, watch yourself, i will survive, phys resist, dolyak, healing sig.

with sup run on an axe helm and minor str and tactics, my atributes are at 15 axe, 11 str, 11 tac, 1 isp.

I clear off the beach of any driftwoods i can, they seem to drop shards alot more than spiders. Then proceed to the mouth of the cave, here i'll pull each of the 3 dryders out and kill them. Once those 3 are cleared i regen up and prepare to rush the one that is a bit inside. With whirling axe you can just keep using it and beat wastrels worry everytime. The spiders will start dropping. At this point keep phys resist and watch yourself up at all times, and dolyak as much as possible. You must have the bulwark on or you'll be healing constantly. I can tank all 24 spiders at this point only taking damage from poison. I've not timed it, but its well under an hour now.

Without this thread i'd have never thought about this. Thanks.

I think Physical Resistance, Dolyak Signet, and Watch Yourself all at the same time is overkill. PR and WY alone should be enough to take 0 damage from all attacks. In place of Dolyak, you should put in another adrenaline attack skill (like Penetrating Chop/Blow or Executioner's Strike), just to make things go a little bit faster.

I still think the W/Mo build is a lot faster as you don't have to use the healing signet all the time, everytime you use the signet you loose 2 seconds of attack time, using it 5 times means already 10 seconds gone and that is almost another spider you could have taken care of. I have tried the W/Any build that Racthoh posted right in the beginning and then I also tried the W/Mo build which I really like and feel it is so much faster.

The Initial part is maybe a bit slower, cause you have no healing sig here you have to be very carefull how to get to the cave. Once you are past all the scale then you are smiling.

I was able to clear all the spiders from the first initial spam off in around 6 or 7 min max, which is fun you don't need to wory about healing sig so you can attack any spider close to you, and also if something goes wrong you don't have to wory that you might be under Dolyak so you can just sprint away and recouperate, then just fall right in again.

I find LV and HH is more than enough to keep you alive and also I have not once ran out of energy and that is without a zelous sword!

I also noticed the same as mentioned above, of my last 5 runs I got 3 shards and they all came from the driftwood, none from the spiders yet. LOL one thing I always forget is my keys but I'm sure I'll get into the habit of taking that along
