I m thinking about bringing cleave or eviscerate, executioner's strike, and penetrating blow for my main source of damage. then of course, i ll have sprint and dolyak signet.

Any comments? =)
If you're maintaining an enchantment and using a vampiric axe, you would need to have Balthazar's Spirit to maintain the energy for Flurry.

Concerning the anti-farming... guild went in last night in hopes to clear the place but a few of us lagged out and had to drop. We had gotten I believe it was 7 shards before even entering the temple of war. We restart, 1 shard by the time we've restored the temple of war. Whether or not that's just bad luck or what, but it seems like the anti-farming code kicks in once you go in a second time. Personally, I've been getting at least 3 shards a go and I never do more than one run at a time.

per how many hours? I don't get on during the weekends, so thats 48hrs the game will not have been touched, hopefully by sunday night the game's drops will favor me again and I get something. I did an UW run w/ a group and i got nill, absolutely nill when it comes to items. It was sad just to be there, good thing the other guy gave me something, otherwise I was basically tehre for experience.

I'll try this run later, probly do a axe build for the cyclone axe, just gonna get a zealous axe hilt.

Also is it possible to solo the skeleton army w/ a warr build? I really wanna kill those skeletons walking around.

I understand that it is. OTOH, I've never been able to get to the Forest solo. Does anyone have a route for getting there post-Cave that they could stick up?

It's not the method I need, it's the route.

Ok, I understand the need for the Glads Armor, but why does everyone remove a +20 piece in order to sub. a piece of Knights or Ascalon armor? It seems to me that the +20 would be better then then +10 piece.

the legs and seeds can cover entrance fee if you are able to clear out the entire cave, the shards are extra, but mainly its time spent farming this area. if you take a long time and dont get many shards, you might as well farm for money and buy the shards. good thing is i think shard prices are rising; bad thing is that europe has had favor for a long time.

i've been using an axe build someone posted a few pages back trying to tweak it to be as efficient as possible. sprint/dolyak/heal sig/pentrating/cleave/exe strike/phy resist/cyclone axe. even using a vampiric axe when things are easy. i also don't do more than two runs, simply because when my eyes are glued to the skill bar the whole time and for 45mins+ you really need a break. and by the time i get out of fow, someone has taken favor.

i'm thinking of taking a mate with me to see how that works out. btw if anyone is running a similar axe build and wants to do this dual, send me a PM. split the cost of entrance. and double team this

I went in with a mixed guild group last night and we saw 23 shards, 2 sapphires and a gold shadow blade drop. XD We did clear most of it though. Perhaps the shard drop rate was increased to accomodate for the addition of shard costs to the monk and nec armors?

I think this is more a case of luck of the draw (although if you are doing run after run after run I can sort of see anti farming code making its presence felt). But with randomly allocated drops you will always have bad runs.

My best on this beach run was 6 shards, a max gold chaos axe (+16 whilst hexed, req 10), a max gold shadow bow (+12 in stance, req 8 from a chest), 1 obsidian key. Not including merchant fodder which usually rakes in a consistant 2.5 to 4k. I have to say, that one had me grinning all the way through it ('haaay! another shard!')

My worst run? Well, nothing. No shards. No keys. 1 or 2 crappy purples and just all round merchant fodder. Even my worst runs however can make more than the entrance fee so its never a complete waste. Its up and down though. So to Raxxman and some others who are feeling cheesed off, try it again later - you may get luckier and score a motherload of phat lewtz.

I don't understand one thing, people basically say "soloing FoW," and since I'm new to this - is soloing spiders [all in all] the same thing? Or is this build specifically to kill one monster in that huge zone we call the Fissure of Woe?

Basically yeah, if you're new to FoW I would not recommend doing this yet. Get the basic idea of what it looks like first before attempting it. Otherwise, the path to get there will probably be unclear.

As the armours say, they don't stack.

If you do take axes pick disrupting chop, allows you to kill the shadow patrols of 1 monk, 2 warriors

Quick question - Which helm do I use?

I know, this may have been answered before, but this is 32 pages long and it's 3:30 o.o

As of now I have
Duelists Helm ~ +1 Sword
Knights Gloves
Gladiator's for everything else.

Setup correct? yes? no?

Thank you for your help.

Yeah I hit this anti-farming earlier tonight.

I found a new twist to do this. Just kill the Snarling Driftwoods and look for chests. Killing all the DriftWoods and then run into the cave looking for any chests, then die and zone back. You can do all this in about 15 minutes (I did it in 12), and just sell all the seeds and weapon drops you get from them, except the good ones. You should get a little over 1 platinum with everything sold which covers the cost of getting in there. I got two purple shadow blades, a ruby, red and silver dye, a key, and a bunch of shards this way, and also playing the chest slots (chest running). I've had bad luck with chests; they only drop caster items like GOLD Ankhs and Fire Staffs, nothing worth the 1500g cost of the key.

I did this a few times and eventually the DriftWoods started to have no drops, so I did a 5 minute mission and killed low level bosses. Went back to FoW to repeat and rinse. You gotta sandwich these anti-farm tactics in there to keep things sweet. I started to think about this because killing the spiders was getting boring and tedious, healing and melee over and over. I thought about how fun it was to kill those DWs, because they are so easy to kill and have such great rewards for such low time investment.

Big ass Obsidian Shard:

I picked up a Ruby:

First DriftWood killed drops a Shard:

Shadow Blade drop:

Using the wall as protection against spiders:

I haven't read this entire thread, but using that wall is such a time saver, especially if you use an Axe. Agro 3, or 6 if you are die hard, and simply shimming down the wall until they are all in one spot. Then activate Phy Resist, run up to them and Cyclone away. Switch targets when one spider is down to 25% health, and repeat until you kill them all. Watch out for Skales behind you if any. After these group of spiders, I dread going in the cave tunnel, because it's really the most boring part. Dryder, 3 ACS, then 3 more ACS. If they ACS are grouped closely, then you can make things go quick. Otherwise, I just look for the chests then die.

A Weapon Helm+Sup Weapon Rune of your choice would be nice.

This is the build i have used before.

Armour of Earth
I will Survive
Sprint
Hundred Blades
Galrath Slash
Final Thrust
Heal Sig
Watch Yourself!

If get my Earth high enough for the armour, it make it quite effective.
Still.. i think W/Me would be more effective in some circumstances.

Is it possible to eliminate practically everything in FoW? I don't know about that, because once I entered Fissure of Woe, wow. ><
