Yup, found a few on occasion.

Glad to know it still drops good... although my best had 2 gold shadow shields not 2 gold chaos axes.

I still think Baltz sprit + Cleave is godly. You don't even need a Zealous haft for it, just a furious or sundering haft would work nicely.

Flurry only increases your adrenaline gain by 33% while leaving your damage output the same.
Doesn't the variable damage range of axes make it possible that they'll be slightly less effective with Flurry? It'll average out over an extended series, of course, but there's a couple of places where consistency is far more important than a possible spike.

Using cleave does not totally deplete the adrenaline you built up for penetrating blow.
IINM, using an adrenal skill empties the pool for that skill and removes 1 adrenaline from the pools of all other adrenal skills. Effectively, unless you're using a Furious mod or something else that boosts adrenaline gain, adrenal attacks do not themselves generate adrenaline.

Unfortunately I found a way to make the spiders interrupt, other than being really low on health. I thought I was on to a good build.

Desperation Blow
Sever Artery
Gash
Watch Yourself
Dolyak Signet
Healing Signet
Sprint
Virulence

Note: I took sword to minimum to use some points in Death.

Anyway I was able to kill the driftwood and dryders faster than ever with this. Energy management wasn't a problem, don't even need a zealous mod in fact i have lengthen bleeding on my sword.
Sever to make them bleed -3, Virulence -3 for poison and -4 for disease(which spreads) and weakness, then hit them with Gash for -20% total health. They die so very quickly.

It does work on the spiders but frequently they will interrupt the virulence. It comes down to learning the timing on when to cast it.

OK, I'm having problems here. Getting to the cave is as ever a PITA, but the hassle comes at the cave. I'm using Glad's with Knight's Boots, a Superior Absorb and Grog's Defender, and I'm still taking extra damage with WY! and the Sig active. Have the Spiders been damage buffed?

You will still be taking damage, just not a whole lot. When using the Healing Signet is the only time you should see your health drop faster. Just make sure you're only killing 3 at a time to start and not like 12.

At the cave mouth usually I can kill one dryder but then the spiders come out. At that point I sprint out of there because fighting the spiders and the dryders is not a good situation. If your timing is off at all then Wastrels Worry will start to take chunks of your health.

Watch for the spiders to spread out and when one is separated from the group attack. Yes the others will be hitting you but as long as you don't aggro the dryders again they will stay at the cave entrance.

Once I've lured and killed all the spiders outside then I kill the remaining dryders.

When you go inside the cave, I sprint up to a dryder and kill it first, then look to see if any spiders are spread out. If they are all in groups then I sprint out and wait for them to spread themselves out.

As for the Dryder. I don't attack as fast as I can. I wait for him to cast Wastrels worry before every attack skill I use.

Hey man

You are the best.

Made the run my first go and found some really nice things: 4 shards, 1 key, 1 sapphire and 1 ruby. WOW! Was I amazed.

Plus all the wood (salved from staffs and bows) and glittering dust that you can convert into Vellum and sell to trader for a nice profit.

I didn't actually realize how easy these spiders/driftwoods/dryders could be. I suppose it's because till recently I had never had the chance to explore FoW as PUGs always leave etc. and some don't even get to The Forgemaster.

Anyways, came close once to biting the bullet once a scale got wind of me. I was fighting with a last group spider (outside cave) when i think i got careless and missed him bouncing along the beach. Dolyak was up and I just put the killing blow on spidey when good old Ancient Scale gets LT and LS on me. So I start walking slowly away while healing and managed to sprint out as Dolyak came down.

That was the only real tense tense moment. I do love the thrill of fighting in close quarters and having to watch aggro real close.

Anyways, Ract thanks again dude and one day I hope I have the honour of maybe joining you on a quest somewhere that takes use into danger, excitement and adventure!!!

first off, thank you greatly for this build. It is a pretty hard build to run in my opinion but i used to farm griffons and ill admit, it was a mind-numbing way to make some quick cash.

Because it is more difficult, it is more fun. I was very frustrated at first because i could not even get past the first couple groups of skales. I still think there are good and bad monster spawns ( i have seen it in mineral springs with the thunderwing elemental boss.) i have seen it here too.

I am yet to make it to the spiders but I wanted to post to say thank you and tell other beginers not to give up. I tried the UW W/N solo, and that is hard. Much harder than this.

I just want to say congratulations to Racthoh. Whether the build works or not, I've never seen a thread remain on the first page for this long without being stickied. Kudos to you!

The fact that the build does work is just icing on the cake...

How so? If you're going to say Savage Shot, I made that mistake also. They only throw SS when you're low on health. If you're talking about the run to the cave, well, it's not easy. Just be patient and you'll eventually be able to get by them.

Or was the nerf something else?

Thanks a lot for this build Racthoh, you are a real star
Well after several attempts (about 10) I finally managed to get to the cave and kill all the spiders It took about 2 hours but it was fun

Was using a W/Me build similar to the one I use for IDS farming, just switched Elemental Resistance for Physical Resistance.

Got 4 shards on this run and I'd had 3 earlier from previous attempts

Now Ive just got to find a group that will make it to the Forgemaster so I can get my Fissure Armour

Hey Ract, watsup....

I use Watchful Spirit in my build because im a noob , and i cant seem to stay alive. I just take a little longer at killing, since i am more focused on staying alive. This build is very solid, however, i never seem to get any good drops -_-.

Cya online.

Alright, what is your armour setup? Using the collector's shield with the +45 health and -2 damage while stance? (found in the desert for 5 bleached shells... roughly 5k to buy the shells if you don't farm them)

And don't forget either a +5 Defense mod for your weapon, or a +7 vs. physical one.

Drops tend to suck nowadays though.. On my first runs I got 4-6 shards, now I'm lucky to get 1-2

Quit farming there pricks
