I had a nice build with a 600/smite hero combo that worked great in HM, but no use crying over spilt milk. EH!

I just finished my necro up to lvl 20 just so I could start farming Ghial's staff again, using this build from PVXwiki.

The guide to using this build here http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Guide:Boss...V_Necromancers, says that Ghial is farmable.
I was just wandering if anyone has tried using this build against Ghial and could tell me the secret. The dang mesmers keep stripping his hex, making it impossible to kill him. I'm looking for HM or NM help on this.

i think this farm is not feasible when there are mesmers around.

i have not tried this farm for a long while and even then i was using a sliver build but if there are no healers around you could try and vampiric touch the mesmers to death 1st and then deal with the boss. if the amount of enemies is too much for u to handle, u could die once, then equip a -20 health offhand and go in as a 19HP. just remember that then every time an enemy dies your HP will rise to more than 55. as a 19HP u will be loosing 1hp per attack and hence u will be able to deal with all of them at u the same time.

Ive kiled ghial during a double green drop weekend untill i got 3 of his staffs. If i remember correctly, it took about 40 times to get 3 staffs. (40 times of succesfully killing him).

I did (as mentioned above) use a -20 health offhand, on a standard 55 monk. Exit the outpost, senjis corner, walk left, then suicide.

Equiped with the -20 offhand, your health is low enopugh to take 1 damage each hiit. This makes it very easy to ignore all enemys, and walk up to ghial with only mending, prot spirit, watchfull spirit and balthazar spirit on you. (+5 regen when taking 1 dmg = a walk in the park) Just make sure to smash Prot spirit as often as you can, they will interrpt this occasionally. Due to the large ammount of enemys following you, there is a chance of getting stuck. When this happens, your screwed

Right before you get to Ghial, Use spell breaker, healing breeze then glyph of concentration and walk up to ghial. Then use Sliver when your next to Ghial. If all goes well, he dies and theres a small window of time to pick up his green. This fail sometmes due to interrupts. Key is to cast anything on recharge! (Healing breeze, Prot spirit) and keep your fingers crossed they dont interrupt your sliver. If they do just stick around untill its recharged.

Dont have the build anymore, but i remember this much

Prot spirit, Healing breeze, Mending, Balthazar spirit, Spell breaker, Sliver, Watchfull spirit, Glyph of Concentration.

Youll need to figure the attributes out yourself,. i dont remember those.

Op did say they were a 55 necro.
With pvxwiki a lot of whats posted is quite old and tho the skills used by a player may not have changed im sure the skills that foes use have changed quite a bit.
Also on that pages user comments the last ever edit/post was june 2009 - only suggestion i can make is what i tend to do after any update , get the zone up on guru and cross ref whats been either updated recently or check each foes ur facings skillbar and that should allow you to see who has skills that can hurt you.
Its a gd rule as i forgot after last weeks nerf and couldnt figure how as a/d in mount qinkai i was getting stripped by wallows and i went from fast killing machine to a sloth speed killing machine - damn jaundaced gaze buff
