Default Why We Farm(ed)

Because just playing the game isn't rewarding and makes little money. A-net need to focus on actualy gameplay beyond what it was now that they (finally) destroyed a large part of what has driven peopel on (farming the E's for leet gear etc.).

Therefore, give us rewarding gameplay, don't drive us to farm and scrounge new farming builds from whatever 'balances' they release.

I don't understand why people enjoy such repetitive builds. Seems to be the opposite of what you're wanting.

The reason you farmed is because:

1) You're bad at the game in that cannot make money without farming in such a crummy manner. I mean, I don't farm, yet I've always had money to buy a shed load a nice armour and weapons, so that sort of farming isn't necessary.

2) You're bad at the game and believe that having lots of money you don't need will make you good. It doesn't.

Believe it or not, vanquishing with 600 is actually a lot more fun than doing it with spirits or an AP caller build.

And all 3 of those you mentioned are 'gimmicks'. I vanquish without Sabway, Discord, 600/Smite, or spirits. No Assassin's Promise, in fact, none of my characters, heroes, or hench use a single Assassin skill. So your point makes no sense. Balanced teams are more fun to me, but I also know my method is not fun for everyone.

Bull.

People farm because they want something. They want things faster, easier, and with less effort for more reward.

This, itself, isn't something horrible, people do it all the time. But don't pretend that farmers are victims or oppressed masses, thrillseekers having fun or decent laborers with heartland values just trying to get by, because that is a load of Regurgitated Mass.

Because people want to be bad at a game. I seen people in full FoW gear spamming bull's strike on recharge.. Cmon man..

This game is not about farming anymore (finally). It's title grinding or pvp.

Why I farm?
Because that's the only way to reach certain goals in this game.

Here is a problem: they have to put rewards for just playing the game.

Why? Fans demand it:

* There is group of people who are done with game and should have quit, but are addicted so much that they don't want to quit yet. You gotta give em something to do or they will be batshit pissed and loud. Just give em busy work and they'll be happy (busy work is sometimes spelled like 'skill' or 'dedication' or 'working for reward').
* There is group of players that uses game as self-esteem booster. They need easy and direct way that not everyone will go: something to grind. And they want grind to have at least some point. (grind is sometimes spelled like 'skill' or 'dedication' or 'non-isntant gratification').
* Then there is group of players who are only happy when they seem to have exclusive something. Only possible way to make something exclusive is to make it require lot of time (time is sometimes spelled 'skill' or 'dedication' or 'not being lazy').

There are some spelling issues, see, but core of problem is simple: If you reward normal gameplay, cetrain people will soon find out that they are no longer as special as they thought (everyone has fow armor? no way! it is only for meeeee!) and that they ran out of e-roin (um, i wanted to play for 8 hours today. now i have nothing to do, what do i doooooo? rl is scary!).

Title grinding is farming. You repetitively do something to achieve something. Sounds like a form of farming to me.

Money = Fun?

I can't figure that one out. Farming is extremely dull to me.

TBH kinda curious as to what you think nice wps and armors are since you dont farm, since about the only way to afford rare items would be to do dungeons/elite areas to make a decent amount of money and that in and of itself is a form of farming even if u balance way it...

To each his own... after all everything we do in this game is a form of farming for titles, rep, faction, pvp rewards, etc...

I personally used to enjoy farming SoO with my 600/smite for fun, really didnt care about drops (although the bds here and there was nice) it was the challange of being able to spend 30minutes having fun killing things and completing an area.

So the nerf kinda sucks for hardcore farmers, well as with every nerf there are enough of us creative peeps out there that it will only be a matter of time before the "new farming meta's" are posted.

Agreed, we used the 600/smite duo/trio to farm materials and so we could make some progress towards filling our HoM with elite armour sets, destroyer weapons, sweet/alcohol/party titles etc etc.

I loved farming, back in the days without loot nerf and god mode, one size fits all builds. Now god mode is gone, we just need the loot nerf reversed so we can start having fun again.

I farm because I'm a collector the centre piece of my collection is a mini IG which I would not have beeb able to get unle
s I had got e-blades and BDS's from sc's.

I collect because it gives me something to do with the game after completing it.

ia also collect for HoM and bragging rights.
but to collect I need to farm money
