Because you don't read the rules. And now you did it again - you asked a question to moderators in a FARMING section.

Just stop using the Internet, please.

Stop using the internet? Good one!

So what section shall i go to to ask the moderators about a question to do with a post i made in the farming section then?

What's the rules on that one then?

This is stupid, money making is a huge part of the game, if you don't make money, you wont get through it, and it's completely banned on the forum.... is there anything that i am allowed to talk about here?

It's against the rules as about a million people have asked the same question in the past and they ALL get the same awnser. Use the search function and you'll find it. Also i noticed on the main page you've got 2 threads asking the exact same thing, this again, is against the rules. If you have a problem with a mod PM them or post in the site feedback forum.

Ok firstly it was on the main page because thats where i asked it first and was then told to put it in the farming section....

so i did.... the only reason its on here twice was because i was told to move it

Then when i did, i was told i wasn't allowed to do it there either.

I'm not here to argue or anything i just don't see what's wrong with it, iv used the search function and i cant find much atall i just find posts that have ALSO been closed.

If anyone could point me to a post which answers my question then i will gladly shut up and sit here and read it.

Your problem is that you don't bother to read stickies. Those threads are stickied for a reason. The rules are there to keep the forums clean and purposeful. If you don't want to read them and have things spoonfed to you, do it elsewhere. From the General Campfire Guidelines:

Before making a thread, do as much as you can to help yourself. It is unfair to expect other people to spend their time helping you when you haven't spent any time yourself. If you make a thread and it is obvious you haven't done so, it is highly likely your thread will be closed. Threads that state 'Can someone tell me some good builds', or something to that effect, will always be closed, as this information can easily be found elsewhere. It is expected that you look through the online resources and search (both manually and using the search function) through the forum before making threads.

Some resources you may find useful include the Official Wiki, the Unofficial Wiki, PvXWiki (for builds), YouTube (for tutorial videos), the stickies in each subforum, and possibly the FAQ in the Questions and Answers forum if your question is more generic.

In addition, if you haven't been successful in finding what you need, give us as much information as you can. Information such as which campaigns you own, whether you regularly play with a friend/family member, specifically where you're having issues, or whether you play in any way that would somehow influence your question. This helps people address your problem as specifically as they can.
There is a ton of information out there. It's just a matter of reading it.

i am a member of many forums, some i have even moderated on (nothing to do with guild wars) i know how annoying it is to see the same posts over and over again so i ALWAYS check the search for what im looking for before posted. i even stated that clearly at the top of my post.

I just couldn't find what i was looking for. i found several posts but most of them began with something like "iv only got a Warrior and a Monk and i need a build... etc" well iv got allot more than that so i have allot more options, im not trying to upset anyone atall.

And normally i do read the rules but as its such a common thing throughout the same, its practically one of the biggest parts of the game (if not for money and items, what's the point in farming?) so i didnt think it would be against the rules.

That's all im trying to say, i ment no offence.

Did you try PvXWiki? Pretty much every farming build that people care about is there. This is why I closed your thread. Asking 'give me the best farming builds' is a waste of time when there's a link to a website that lists them in the sticky. If I let that thread continue, all the posts would have been either 'omg you fail read the rules omg omg' or point to PvX, as I did in the Guidelines.

Surely you can understand that? (Don't mean to make that sound condescending).

no thats fine i realise that.

But yes i use PVXbuils and although its a great website for builds and i practically get all my builds from there. Theres loads of farming builds but none of them actually say how much you can earn off of them. They can completely vary and im looking for something to earn allot of gold.

Just start with the builds listed as 'great' and use your judgement. Read the comments. See if there's a Guru thread about it. You can get a better idea from that if required.

Also, different builds yield different results for different people. Some people are better at different farms/professions/styles than others, some are lucky, some aren't. You're looking at a rough estimate on returns, really. This is another reason why 'give me the best farming builds' isn't appropriate. There is just so much variation that it is hard to be specific.

Anyway, I've got to go, so I won't be returning to this discussion until tomorrow.

Get in a guild/alliance that does DoA. It is an easy Armbrace (roughly 30e) every 2 hours-3 hours. Otherwise just start powertrading. Now is a good time for selling with cupcakes dropping. Buy/farm a few stacks, and then sell them here in a few months, and make 2x-3x what you paid for them.

True, but not if you are used to pressing 12345678 in the UW.

Then instead of expecting people to spoon-feed you answers, why not try builds out for yourself?

The fastest way to earn money is through power trading.

WOW thanks for the sarcasm and cocky answers!

I was asking for advice, not demanding top answers...
Iv never done PvP so I don't know if there's any money in it... I'v never done power trading... that's why I was asking, for suggestions and new ideas...

I thought that was the whole point in the forum, I hadn't played in a while and i was asking for some friendly advice and I get a wave of angry hardcore gamer sarcasm and cockiness. :/

So thanks to those of you who actually made useful suggestions. For the rest of you... go find something else to do with your life.

Its because members are sick and tired of people posting questions that are either already been posted many times or people that dont use search nor read forum rules - and im not saying you in general .

Firstly read the rules - that way you are protecting yourself against angry hardcore gamer sarcasm and cockiness.
Next use search and see what can be dug up for your chr(s) for farming .
Next if you read the rules you know you cannot ask for money making builds etc
If time is taken and posts read then all your questions are answered.
Community members dislike having to repeat stuff time and time again and i know mods hate having to close posts that have been posted xxxx times by many people on same subjects.
It tends to be like driving around with kids in the back constantly asking "are we there yet ? ".
Pvx is a gd place to get build ideas but making your own builds and finding places yourself that can be farmed is more rewarding.Even going thru the farming builds on here is often better than pvx and if you have a partial or full build and want advice then ask as you will often get more help as asking for builds and presenting a build for advice are two different things.
Also suggest asking a mod to close this thread incase any trolls decide to join in and it will stop any other nasty comments.

Last note - we have to follow forum rules which means mods like marty have to follow their mod rules otherwise the admins have to enforce the site rules - mods have a job to do and thats enforce the rules and tidy things up afterwards.
Rather than make a post about mods it may have been easier to pm marty and ask why closure on posts and have it explained in pm

Ok ill be honest, i haven't read the rules, but i also didn't think asking for advise on money making would be against the rules as its a very big part of the game.

I know about pvx builds, infact iv been playing so long that i used to get my builds off of Guild Wiki untill they stopped and it was all moved to pvx.

Iv had many UW solo builds and solo farming certain areas. I was mainly asking if there was any other ways to make money, yea iv been playing the game for a long time but iv only ever done UW solo things, is this really one of the best ways to do it? when u do the same run over and over again with little profit you start to question "are their better ways of doing this?" "i only want one set of armour and its going to cost me a weekends worth of repetitive boring play" its just me being curious... iv been playing for years but there's still so much i don't know about the game and haven't tried.

like someone said... PvP, i never do PvP to be honest, i didn't think there was any money in it atall.... but that's a new idea to me

and the same with Power Trading... don't really know about that but its a new idea.

Thats all i was asking, it may have seemed like i was just coming on here demanding the best farming build but it wasn't that atall.
