I'm using this build from pvx, and on the site it says it was successfully tested on the uw. My problem is that when i get a group of aatxe and grasps, the dying nightmare appears and it uses rend enchantment, causing me to die instantly. since i'm using a totem axe and a -50 cesta theres no way for me to kill it. is there anyway to kill it or interrupt it by replacing a skill in the build, or is there a trick that i'm just missing?

well in old day I use a flatbow...

aim-stop-if no nightmare-shoot
or
aim-stop-nightmare-pull back- kill it

Pretty much this. Dying Nightmares were designed to counter 55 builds, but clever pulling will get you through. Also, Dying Nightmares only have 90 health in NM. This means you'll be able to kill them with a few wand/staff attacks.

Thats an old uw build from 2008 and i have a big feeling your not going to do a lot of uw with it.
Smites wont be able to be done , mindblades will probably slay you within seconds - smites and mindblades have both hex removal , grasps may interupt you and thats just a few problems straight off my head.

Skeleton of Dhuum is a far bigger problem than any of the normal creatures. If the skeletons weren't there the build would still be viable but as is you would have to do armor set swaps and pull the skeletons individually thus making a very slow and dangerous run. I use to run 55 necro in fow and uw quite a bit which was a challenge just because of the disrupts and enchant strips. I can't imagine adding the skeletons to the annoyance when you could just spirit spam instead.

is there anything that i could change in the build that would allow this to be done, or should i just scrap it and find a completely different way to solo farm the uw?

From the responses posted, it seems to be a problem with 55ing in general. You can always just run a Spirit Spammer. They're easy to run and are decent income earners.
