Default DoA PuGs

For anyone interested: A varient on a PvX team build has basically become the meta for PUGs in DoA nm. While it is not by any means the fastest way to clear DoA nm...it seems to be pretty much fool proof, hence why most PUGs are leaning towards it.

The team set up is pretty simple:

3 DwG-can be run by mutiple professions
1 SoS- can be run by mutiple professions
1 Aotl- This is optional...another dwg works well
1 Imba-can be replaced by ST Shelter rit if no Aotl is in the team
2 Monks

So if anyone is having any problems finding a PuG in DoA nm.....running one of these might help you get into a sucessful group no matter your lvl of experience.

Note* I am not trying to promote one team build over another. I am simply conveying what seems to be the new meta for DoA nm PuGs.

Hope this might help anyone having problems finding PuGs in DoA nm.

*Note*: Evidently PvX incorporated the builds to a caster spike variant, which it is not...idk why they would do this, so once I get off my lazy tail...I'll post them here.

Thanks!~Take care and Have fun~

A DoA pug sounds exceedingly painful. I can't imagine them being very successful.

I actually went as monk on a run just for laughs and it didnt end up being terrible, I wish this thread would have been up earlier so I could have known to take screen shots.

I would drop 1 Dwg in favor of a classical SS necro. Can't beat the damage of several well placed spiteful spirits.

Very sparse information.
Can you show any builds or link to PVX?

I have done full DoA runs with PUGs. Just takes a good leader and communication.

I think I read somewhere that I am not supposed to link/redirect from here to wiki. But here is the bar I use on my Mesmer..

That isn't true. Link to Wiki/PvX if it's convenient. There's a Wiki thing in the General Campfire Guidelines, but it doesn't say not to post links to Wiki. - Marty

Average from the ones I've been involved in (bout 12 full) 1hr 40mins
Fastest one I was a part of was 1hr 22mins

By no means a SC. (note* it's a PUG, esp is not really an issue)Veil takes the longest of the 4.

I would have two Ether Renewal eles instead of two monks and a paragon.

Could maybe do hard mode...

I just went to DoA on my dervish (haven't used him forever, last time I used him was for a guild run in DoA forever ago :P). Saw this place was having a party with people. Thanks for this, didn't really know what the meta builds were. Might try a PUG sometime.

If u wanna go HArd Mode, bring winter+mantra of cold ...

Imba is important

Might try form one of this days
3DwG's (with mantra of frost)
Imbagon
AoTL
SoS with winter
BL/PnH
UA

I Admit 2 ER's instead of the 2 monks would be nice too with convert hexes aegis chain, spirit bon and prot bont etc etc, but i would drop the paragon for somethign else since armor wont be a problem hence both ER's would bond the whole party... maybe a UA monk with party heals and stuff. Maybe i would drop the necro for another DwG (with mantra frost+echo)...nice stuff

Anyway dunno if its good to do HM since i had so good results with this pugs....

Its just old scholl little tricks, you should know that by now^^

EDIT:

The questions are:

Is it more rentable to do mod Glaiveway to play it on Hard Mode?
How is the gem drop rate comparing to Normal Mode?
How long does and Hard Mode run could last?

i'm just wonderign because i am having nice results with pugs...

Just did Stygian Veil in 58min with a PUG. Only a few deaths, idk if that's good or bad. But, it was fun

58min with a PuG isn't horrible, considering... you did infact finish! However nor is it great. DoA, as those before me said, takes communication and a good leader. You need someone who knows what is going to happen, when it will happen, and how it will go down. For example rushing down a trench after killing both underlords blindly, will get most teams killed, which is why some foresight into the mechanics of each are, is crucial to success. Having one person who does DoA often or is in a DoASC guild/has been is very helpful. 8 clueless people will wipe out of DoA very very quick. It isn't all that forgiving.

Also just did Foundry. Only 1 wipe, but it was because I lagged and couldn't heal. Thankfully one dwg had a rez and we finished. I think it was ~45min, because I used about 4.5 cupcakes.
