Default Feathers: This or That?

Hi everybody,

I've farmed a lot of feathers in my time, and the thing is, I found out about a new place to do it. I was wondering which is better for feathers, including the scalps, because at the new location, North Kryta Province, I found my gold weapon drop results to be better, so let's only count the scalps and feathers.

The original place I farmed it, was with my Elementalist at Jaya Bluffs.

At North Kryta province, I use a Spirit Spammer to do so.

Which area is better for feathers? I think they're both really good, but I'm still not sure. Perhaps some math can be done, and try not to bias one or the other just because you've farmed in one place more than another. ^^ Thank you,

I farmed the north kryta province the most when i farmed feathers. I thought getting a stack was easier there than other places in prophecies. However, farming feathers in factions on noob island offers the most scalp drops i think.

I too have tried north kryta province, I am a Ele/Rit, I use SS in HM, easy in NM, but in HM, I die too quickly against fire ele's. The fire emps.

Sprits I found are not that great against ele's are they?

I love oldschool VWK R/RT, Rt/Me or Me/Rt in HM NKP.

Always how I got my feathers.

LA scalps gives you 2-3 feathers

Arbor scalps gives you 3-4 feathers

More foes in Arbor

TONS of runes/insignias in Arbor

Yetis drop stolen supplies witch recycles in clothes/fiber/glass vial/vial of ink

I did not do any extensive farming around LA for feathers, but all the runs i did have proven to give me a lesser income then in Arbor.

Hi Easyreader,

I've actually done some math on both areas, North Kryta Province and Jaya Bluffs. I added up all drops, runes, feathers and other materials to see how much money I made per hour. I farmed both areas extensively to determine this. Both areas I farmed solo in NM.

Jaya Bluffs is better.

Thank you ACWhammy.

Could I see the math for this to self-confirm myself?

For "proof" id suggest doing a search on feathers and check the posts as jaya bluffs has become the popular choice.
Any profession can literally farm feathers in jaya in nm.
Nm runs in jaya can take upto 15 mins a run.
Tengu outside la takes longer in nm and even longer in hm.
Yes you may get better drops in hm but its feathers which are important to feather farmers.
Also the feathers from jaya bluff sensali used to avg between 60 and 100 a run including scalp drops salvaged - you can at times get between 10 and 25 scalps , my record was around 22 a run for a few consec runs.
Popeye - arbor ? you in the right place ?

I use my Rit for feather farming, and though the noob island offers the most feathers vs time spent, North Kryta Province also offers scales, charcoal and lots of necro and mesmer tomes.

Just bring mantra of flame for the fire imps and physical resistance against the ettins.

Edit: Can't vanquish anymore because of hostile peacekeepers.

Jaya Bluffs average is more than 100 feathers and max I got was 189 although usually I get more than 120 per run. I suppose I get more because I use ele with sliver. As for North Kryta I do HM and yes there are better stuff dropping but as OP said, we are comparing feather drops.

Fire Imps do drop rubies too!

Naphui Quarter for feathers, either spirit spam or 330 rt or 600 monk. If you go 330/600 take the vanguard sniper skill and shoot the sprit lights and just keep moving if they don't die(the sentinels and blades will). The Star tengu drop 20-30 feathers at once, and seem to drop a lot, and you get some shiny factions stuff in there. Avoid or run around the bosses, just enter, cast your enchants whole skippy mcflat hat babbles and go in the second portal from the right, go till you kill enough stuff die or get to an impass.

Did that back in the day, was ok- was originally doing it for celestial weapons.

But since then hasn't the 500 monk been nerfed to make NQ near impossible?

600/smite duo was sort of nerfed - holy wrath was nerfed from being a bond to an enchant and cannot be cast on yourself so the poor smite bonder has to keep casting it on you.Whether impossible i cant say as i stopped using 600/smite but i do know there are revised 600/smite builds being used in some places.

I do NQ aswell, NM on my Ranger. Just about everything in that zone salvages to iron so I am able to basically farm both items at once. Other places drop items salavageable to iron aswell, but I don't think at near the rate that NQ does.

It certainlt takes longer than the Bluffs and you don't get the juicey rune drops, but the shot a celestial weapons and the iron do it for me. Plus I get bored easy so I'll switch back and forth between the two areas.

Do it in nm - you tend to get more feathers over time than in hm , eg more runs per hr in nm than hm

It's still possible with a 330 rit or a spirit spammer, though you have to abandon mobs that have 2 star lights.

Ok when I farm feathers I go to Jaya Bluffs NM on my R/Rt as a VwK with these skills;

Atts; 12 Resto, 8 Channeling, 10 Wilderness Survival, rest in Expertise. Runes wherever u want.

Weapon; I used Alem's Remedy

Skills;
Troll Unguent - Heal during battle
VwK - Damage
Vengeful Weapon - Damage
Ancestor's Rage - Damage
Light of Deldrimor - Damage
Snow Storm - Damage
Storm Chaser - For energy and speed between mobs.
(Optional) - I took Serpent's Quickness but I never even used it. Dwarven Stability might be good.

This is the route, I like to clear out all of them and it didn't take me long at all (14mins).

People generally don't take this route but I completed it in 14 mins. Proof;

http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...janK/gw159.jpg

That run I got 79 feathers but I have got near 100 in the past. A few golds and lots of valuable runes; vigor, radiant, survivor etc.

EDIT: Did another run with Dwarven Stability and got it down to 13mins but enrgy management was loads better, 78 feathers;

http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...janK/gw160.jpg

So yeah... near 100 feathers in 15mins. It is VERY POSSIBLE.
