Default Raptors Farm Nightmare

I am not trying to make huge amounts of money, just enough for armour etc and I have read that raptors is the only good farm for warriors.

So I have been trying to farm raptors for a while now and I just can't seem to get anything to work.

I started with VwK (cause I had it) but they always seem to scatter. I have tried it with the new VwK and I can't get anything above blues.

I have tried the popular W/N and for the love of that is sane my paragon just won't cast anything properly. MoP just won't happen and the boss destroys me.

I have even tried making a build with a Hero with MoP and running HB myself but even that didn't work as he took agro.

Can anyone suggest a solo or even a 3 hero team for farming raptors, I dont need uber 1 min builds I just need reliable builds that produce good drops.

Thanks =]

Stick with W/N + P/Rt setup.

Make sure you got the right equipment! You will fail if you dont. Disable and micro "Incoming!", Enduring Harmony, "Make Haste!", "Can't Touch This!" and "Stand Your Ground!" (if you took it) then flag them back to the res shrine before you run into the cave. Cast MoP on the closest Raptor and then aggro. You may need to take Endure Pain (take "SYG!" if you do) instead of Dolyak and an extra Derv hero with Watchful Intervention while you get the hang of it.

Although i wouldn't recommend farming raptors outside events there's a build faster than w/n that doesn't require paragon and it's much easier to use but it can't kill boss.
OQkkEpUcFaKE9mKDcZfRexO4WhqI
Need +1 tactics, 1+1 sword , +1 strenght
Drunken master can be replaced with another running skill.
After aggroing buttonsmash 1-2-3-4-5-6. Make sure you display edification.
But again farming raptors (outside events) is not the most efficient way to get money.

Well i would suggest pvx wiki to check out for faming builds but there are some builds listed as great even dough (W/D smite farm) they have been nerfed to oblivion or very hard to do.
Don't just kill monsters for any drops. Farm items that nicholas wants then sell them to ppl or do zaishen quests, get heavy equip bag and sell. Atm best way to get quick money is to farm war supplies.

Thats why I asked the forums because my PvX still has destroyer and raptors VwK as great.

But currently still dragging my ass through Factions, then Prophecies so.... Raptors are my best bet until i keep chipping through campaigns.

Tried your build out in HM but it hits then I die? Is it for NM?

Thanks =]

Back when it was easy with Assassin, I farmed those stinking raptors day after day after day. Still got stacks of halloween sacks. But money? Not really. Broodmother drops a green nobody wants much. Get lots of normal assassin tomes, nobody wants much. Piddly golds. Rarely a dye worth a bit. Don't remember ever getting a black. Really did not make that much at it.

Even worse, I burned myself out on GW. Had to go play that other game for a few months to get the bad taste out of my mouth.

Find some area where you can just fly along. Probably total average gold is going to be a lot higher.

Raptors averege about 5k gold per hour not counting expensive Dyes. Not really that bad considering how easy the farm is. Still, it is best that you camp raptors during times with event item drops. That's when raptor farm truly shines.

Do you have the right equipment? Because if you don't, you will fail the run. Make sure to have full set of Knight's Insignia, Rune of Superior Absorption, Strength shield with 10 armor vs piercing and 30hp, Sword with 7 armor vs physical and +5e.

As the others have stated, the only time that raptor farming is worth the trouble is during the event weekends. You could easily make more by doing quest, missions, and general farm. The raptor farm is easy but very redundant. What is the point if you are making hardly nothing?

I enjoy doing the occasional FoWSC as Hundred Blades warrior. I consider the build simple and fun. The only setback is having to deal with team mates that do not know what they are doing.

Ultimately the game is there for the player to enjoy, if you don't think you will enjoy raptor farming, I wouldn't advise it.

Yeah, I used to farm raptors in HM with the perma SF build. When that was nerfed, I was forced to use the elementalist Mist Form sliver build. And when Sliver Armor got nerfed, claiming to be a "bug fix," then I'm pretty much out of options there. And no, I'm not going to delete my PvP-only warrior for a PvE warrior for one single purpose of farming raptors. Besides, ArenaNet would simply nerf Hundred Blades judging by the trend that many of their recent skill updates target popular solo farming builds.

But seriously, I would recommend Vaettir farming using this build. Advantages over the Raptor farming is that Vaettirs yield more money gain than raptors as you are dealing with more mobs (Glacial Stones are pretty much worthless, unless if you want to get the Glacial Gloves, which kinda looks cool for some classes). That only drawback is that getting to the destination IS a long run and there is a small chance of Frost Wurms popping out of nowhere and ruining your run to your farming spot. The only time that Raptor farming is useful if 1. farming holiday even items, 2. assassin tome farming, and 3. if you want grab the elite assassin tome from the boss. But since my E/Me Mist Form Raptor Farming build got nerfed due to the so-called "bug fix" of Sliver Armor, I pretty much have no way to farm holiday items now.

You should probably look at farming ectos in the Underworld (UW). There are builds and guides for Warriors on pvxwiki. As others have said - Raptors will not make a lot of profit, unless event items are dropping.

You have the option of re-using your old E/Me to farm Vaettirs for event items instead of Raptors. It's not the fastest, but it's not bad (2-3 minutes), and it's very easy and reliable. That's what I'm doing, since I only used E/Me for Raptors and I really CBA to get my Warrior mule equipped, skilled, and run to Rata Sum.

Build is on wiki, use whatever variant works for you: E/Me Vaettirs

I do it with a character from my second account, leave her at the entrance for fast re-zoning at the end of each run.

With this build changed slightly from Hell Darkbait's suggestion I can kill all nestlings... including around the boss in HM but not the boss as of yet.

OQQUcyYS1KSqM9F5FWC7gwIDWdFA

My armour and stats are all a bit mish mash atm but what I do is:
Enter cast sig of stamina and sprint. collect bounty and run to entrance. Depending on the positioning of the nestlings I cast sprint at entrance or once inside and aggro all groups (sometimes excluding boss group) then I hit c for targeting nearest and 1-2 if the group attacks me all at once I hit 3-4-5 (very quickly) (sometimes WWA doesnt have enough adrenaline).

I am looking to incorporate Air of superiority when my Asura rank is higher.

What does everyone think?

Thanks =]

*EDIT* just got 2 golds and a black dye from one run without killing the boss XD

You don't need to kill the Boss. Elite Sin Tomes and Claws are unfavoured and you won't sell them. So unless you want more Asura points each run don't worry about the boss.

You need to disable ALL the skills on the paragon bar and click them yourself. The key skills are:

Vocal was Sogolon - makes shouts last longer
Enduring Harmony - makes shouts last even longer (be sure you click on yourself so that your are the target)
Make Haste - Your running boost
Can't Touch This - will negate the Broodmother's Twisting Jaws

Have the para cast those on you and then flag him off to die into the Angorodons.

Cast Mark of Pain on the the first raptor. Be sure he stays as your target. The spell does not last forever so don't waste a ton of trying to aggro every single raptor in the cave. A big mistake a lot of people make is taking too long to aggro and letting MoP wear off. As soon as you catch the attention of the Broodmother, run into a wall. This will force all the raptors on one side of you and ensure that the Broodmother will be adjacent to the hexed nestling.

I also advise bringing "Finish Him!" at the end of your bar. This will give you the freedom to only have to aggro about 30 raptors or so and still be able to kill the Broodmother off if she doesn't quite get killed from the initial attack.

Once you get the hang of it, it is extremely predictable. The Necro version works even better.

I do but he seems staggered and unable to cast when i click.

Other than that. Thanks for the helpful hints. I love it when people explain stuff fully (where PvX falls down). I will give that a try but after taking hints to avoid the boss my solo version is working well =]

Target yourself before you make him cast on you.
