Right now I am a Ele/Rit, While I like the extra energy, would I benefit using a primary rit/ranger or a ranger/rit ?

What would you recommend ?

It seems the only benefit of a primary R is Expertise. Ele will probably work just as well. You may even be able to fit Painful Bond in without screwing your energy. It's a spell, so it isn't affected by Expertise. The benefit of primary Rt is higher attributes and thus more effective skills. Spawning Power is good as well, to make your spirits tougher. But that shouldn't be an issue because it's possible with a Ranger.

It will work fine on an Ele main but in long drawn out fights you may need spirit siphon on your bar to maintain energy.

Rangers also have increased elemental armor, which is nice to have.

Well I am thinking of creating a Rit, however, if I wont really benefit from it then I might as well stick with my ele/rit.

It's worth being rit primary... i never run crappy /rt spamming builds unless I have too. Spawning Power while being weak, is also greatly overlooked. The amount of health you can give to spirits and minions, is very beneficial, specially if the foes deal high dmg (uw). The health boost from spawning, also effects asura summons, and vanguard sin don't forget. But yea, the high health, with armor of unfeeling, gives you some pretty durable spirits. I mean.. I can solo vanq about 15 areas. With only my rit SoS spammer, thanks to spawning power.

I just dusted off this build quite recently, after about two years away from the game (now I'm at uni and have farrr too much free time on my hands :P), and it still works fine.

Currently running on my R/Rt (because it's nice to get a bit of variety from the UW solo forest farms, or trapping *yawn*) and it's going pretty well. Was lucky enough to get an ecto on both runs the other day (I was a happy bunny ) with Shadowsong, Painful Bond, Spiritleech Aura (which also gives shadowsong a dmg output as well as blinding...) and usually goes pretty smoothly. Granted it's not the fatest farm run in the world, but it is fairly reliable and pretty easy to learn quickly.

Also tried out a couple of solo vanqs; Scoundrels Rise (insanely easy...just keep out of spell range and you're laughing), and popped over to Griffon's Mouth (which is pretty much all snow ettins), turns out its pretty simple to vanq most areas (those mixed mobs with healers obviously are trickier, takes forEVER and really not worth the time drop wise), cleared Anvil Rock too (just need to be cautious in pulling minotaurs, watch out for the patrols, try not to overaggro)

I'd actually really recommend Griffon's Mouth (or Anvil Rock for that matter) as a great way to practise against aatxe in UW (especially if you're new to spirit spamming and don't wanna waste the entry fees and die straight off...) In HM snow ettins have pretty similar dmg output (maybe not per unit, but as a mob of 3-4 they do) to aatxe, and the same AI based attack patterns, so they're a good way to practise spirit laying positions, and how to effective "tank" spirits by careful rotating.

You don't need Spiritleech Aura to deal damage with Shadowsong.

Anomaly.Despite not being included in the skill description, this Spirit deals 5...17...20 damage. See Shadowsong (attack).

Is there a good workable UW Solo build for Primary : W/MO/E/Ass?
