Default Farming. today/current.

I know, looks like a pretty simple and stupid question. Truth is I've never grasped the concept of farming in GWs. I've been playing this game for 4 years(with breaks ofc) and never really touched farming.

I've read all the guides in the Farming section but most of them are overwhelming.Especially because I don't want to spend on Skills & Runes only to find out the build is out dated.

I'm trying to figure out what should I farm today, what would I need? What area is worth farming and with which class?

Those are my characters.

Assassin
Now of course I've heard about the infamous Shadow Form build. Thing is I'm over whelmed by all the different versions. I even heard you can't even farm with a sin anymore. Anyhow,if theres a up-to-date Sin farming build, please let me know.

Ranger
I've heard about a couple R/Rt build. The only type of farm I can think for him is Trapping in Z-Elite.
P.S: Did people stop farming 6k Balth/Day by trapping in ZElite?I didn't play for a while and decided to check today and no one was there.

Necromancer
What can he do?(in terms of farming)

Short Version/Straight to the point.

Can I farm with one of the following professions?(Ranger,Necro and Sin)
Is there an UP-TO-DATE build?
Most importantly, does it bring lots of monies?

I really want to get into the "big boy" farming.

-Sincerly Kyo.

Whisper me tomorrow and I can explain as much as I can

You can use 55hp build for Necro to farm groups of mobs or bosses (one of oldest still working farming builds). Also there is N/W Raptor farming build (W/N variant is easier but Necro as primary works fine too).

Great guide:
The Big Necro Farming Guide (600hp builds are outdated, but few of them may still work when using SS)

Boss Farmer (someone deleted List of farmable bosses ... )

Classic SS

Raptor Killer

Edit:
List of bosses killable by 55hp Necro

Answer is yes you can farm with all those characters but first you need to work out what you want to farm for and just how much money you consider a lot.

Simply put farming is kill everything pick up everything and then sell it.
The smaller the party the greater the drops to your character.
If your clearing out a high difficulty area like the Underworld or doing a normal map area in hard mode then the rewards are likely to be greater, offset by the increased time it takes to clear such an area.

Farming for materials that are constantly being asked for in towns is a good simple way to build up plenty of cash.
Plenty in my terms are say 500k+ in a few weeks.

If at that point you decide that you want far more money than that you need to learn the market and begin buying and selling rare items and materials.

I began farming a low end area on shing jea island just outside zen dajun I got a few golds 300k and a load of spiritwood planks.
Doing a couple of runs each time I played gw and before starting normal play.
Later I moved onto Feather farming just outside Lions Arch using a necro/Ritualist set up to spiritspam.

Took that 300 up to 700+ which is pretty much where I stopped as that is plenty for me atm.

A good way i find to check whats still usable - look at recent farming builds - upto 2 months old and cross check against wiki for both your skills and foe skills.
That way you get a feel for what you can do.
I find asking players often gets you a build with setup that means paying a lot of money to setup and often takes quite a while to get used to.
Im used to a/me and vaetires but i tried the a/mo varient and found it a bit harder - i actually died more times trying it than i did in total of my a/me runs.
Another good example would be - ele fire nuker build i used for nightmares and sensali - i can use it fine but my wife who`s always been a fire nuker has problems - but her build which works just as good i fail at.
It just depends often on how confident a player is with a build that needs a certain style of play.

Sins are still in there with farming - a/me or a/mo vaetires , fire imps outside la / ice golems nd ice imps in prophs can be used easily with a/me vaetire varient swapping the mantra for one that matches the dmg and same for shield mod.

Rangers can use the spirit spam builds easily and also farm fire imps outside la with a vwk build thats on pvx - i love that farm as its quirky and often you get quite a bit of charcoal and ele tomes plus golds.

Myself i dont do big farms as they always seem to take time/effort and money to set up , instead i do lots of small farms that often pay off in the long run - like conset making , i make 50 consets and spent most of that time under 100k but when i go and sell its all profit - its an investment as i know the cash is there.

ZElite can no longer have heroes brought into it due to the "no heores in pvp" update. this means you have to have a full team of 4 real people. it is still very easy to complete, but most people just don't bother. it is an easy z-key a day if you can find 3 other people to do it with you ;-)

The way I see it, farming isn't the best way to make money. It's more something you do mindlessly to see if you can.

If you really want to farm, why not make a character that is good at it? Rit is probably the most powerful class in the game right now when it comes to pve solo simply because enemy AI will focus on the spirits 9 times out of 10, so if you can keep moving around and making new spirits... you can kill just about anything.

R/Rt can get similar damage, but it will have slightly more squishy spirits. But the true 'damage' of spirit spam comes from painful bond. So, you could probably run any rit build on your ranger it'd just be less effective.

I always thought solo farming was kind of for jealous, arrogant people... you get similar loot by actually playing the game or playing with small groups except you don't have to deal with the 'pain' of seeing someone else get a good drop... or thinking your hero took it.

Best and most mindless way of farming right now is spirit spam in UW (IMO), find a real rit to partner up with and bring your r/rt.

But I still say just play. The game punishes you for farming...

Guess im glad opinions have very little merit, cause this one is off the effin mark.

I have two ranger builds that work wonderfully. One is a rebuild of one on here, the other is a UW solo build.

UW Solo Trap

The Zaishen Farming Rebuild

I use both of these alot, they work beautifully!

It seems obvious that you are referring to "solo" farming, but "farming" is not defined as a solo occupation. Farming is simply defined as doing a quest/mission/area for the sole purpose of getting drops/chests/gold. You can farm with any number of people in the party (up to the max party size, of course.)

I only bring this up because for some people and some situations, it may be faster and more profitable to farm as a team rather than solo. Also, if you don't have the classes and/or skills available to do a particular farm, you may need to do it with some other class and more players.

Usually, you want to farm with as few people as necessary, to get the most drops, but it also a time vs drops things. If a party of 2 people, for example, can farm an area in half the time it takes a solo framer, they will come out the same in the end. And, of course, GW is not a speed contest - there is nothing in the EULA that says you need to farm as fast as possible.

Necromancer is limited to 55 SS/SV farming.
Sins can still easily farm many areas, just use Shroud of Distress and maybe Stoneflesh Aura/Armor of Earth.
Anything can farm with SoS solo, but it is best on a Rit, 2nd best on a Ranger.

Get your assassin to ToPK, Do the ledge farm

http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:A/Me_Tombs_Farm

Use that, BUT! take off spirit of filure, Auspicious Incantation.... Its pointless.
Replace with ether signet, another energy management skill.

I have runs down too 1 minute this is done in NM, I average 1 ecto per every 5-7 runs.

So every 5-7mins you get an Ecto which is worth about 5k(dunno if prices changed). If thats true, then I'm totally down for this. I'll run my Sin through Aug.Rock mission.
