Default Stable Farm (need experienced input)

Since I'm probably the guy with the worst item drops in guildwars history, I'm wondering if there is a farm which isnt so much drop related as others. I usually keep UW for when I go with friends (boring otherwise) and I tried to farm numerous locations, but somehow I'm still always short on money.

I have a rit (all campaigns) / monk (all campaigns) / Sin (most campaigns) and ele and necro who arent that far in most campaings. Are there farm spots that arent as dependent on the drop % an item? Or that have a high % of drop from that item?

I was thinking a quest related farm or a farm that farms very common items would be my best bet.

Thanks in advance

Use your Rit and run Destructive was Glaive at beetletun for courier falken runs. Solid 1k + 12 war supplies in a 5-6 minute run. 15 war supplies = 1 royal gift, which have a chance for several different mini pets and also cons. Last I checked royal gifts were being sold for 6k-7k. Therefore running courier falken should give a solid 5k-6k in 5-6 mins so 50k-60k an hour with no correlation to drops.

Most productive "farm" is DoA. Even if you get no drops you are assured of gems from the end chest. A few runs gives you and armbrace. Armbraces can be sold for 28-32e. I am also the guy that only see good drops. I wonder if it's random per account?

I've been to DoA once with a friend, we didnt got that far :P
Getting bad drops was funny at first, I thought it couldnt last for ever, but by now all my friends are laughing at my bad luck

Ill try farming courier falken then, though I've only done it with a friend who can participate in the event, still need to do it myself

Solo farming is the slowest way of grinding money normally. Feather farming is probably the fastest consistent source of money, and that is about 7k/15-20 minutes or 28-35k/hour. This is extremely slow compared to say, DoA, where you get many more gold drops (more max mods = more money) and gemstones, and also the consistent reward of gemstones and quest gold. You pay between 2-4k for cons and make back 5-6k with the quest rewards. Add on top of that 1 Margonite stone (3-4k each), 2 Stygian (3-4k each), 3 Torment (2k each), and 4 Titans (5k each), you have well over what you have achieved with feathers, plus it is much more fun.

The next most profitable are all speed clears. Most of them you break even or make a few thousand gold every run (UWSC is most profitable on a solo sin area, you can get 3-4 ectos which is about a 20k profit), then you also have the reward chest.

In terms of reward chests, here are the most valuable in descending order (HM):

NOT PUG FRIENDLYUW Chest (Guranteed 20k + chance at a rare drop, most worth around 90e, Mini Dhuum worth upwards of 750-800e)- 2 Ghastly Summoning Stones(5k each), 1 Ecto (7k), 1 Scroll (1k), 1 Phantom Key(475g), 1 Lockpick(1.25k), 1 Diamond (400g) + 3 random drops (ranging from 400g-hundreds of ecto) Investment - 2-4k in Cons and 1-2 hours

PUG FRIENDLYFoW Chest (Guranteed 5.5k + chance at rare drop) - 1 Obsidian Shard (2-3k), 1 Lockpick (1.25k), 1 Scroll (1k), 1 Onyx (500g), Obsidian Key (750g), +3 random drops (ranging from 200g-120e) Investment - 1k and 30 minutes-1 hour

PUG FRIENDLYChest of Kathandrax (Guranteed 3k + chance at an Emerald Blade or a good req. Astral Staff) - 1 Hammer of Kathandrax (3k) OR quest reward (1.5k), 2 random gold drops (ranging from 200g to 120e) Investment - 1.5k in BU and ~10-20 mins

Then the rest of the dungeons, Shards of Orr would be next best because you break even and have a chance at a BDS, then the rest of the dungeons, in descending order of the unique drop's value.

Having said that, the OP should get his Rit and monk to "DoA", and his Sin ready for some UW/Katha/SoOsc runs.

Default Feather Farming

Farm feathers in Factions in the Jaya Bluffs.

It is a fast farm - 20 mins maybe and you'll get around 100 - 120 feathers per run if you do NM. HM I'm not sure of.

Build VwK: OAOjEyiL5MWMHn3k4Nxin6D5BA

Or a Standard SoS build also works.

9K per stack of feathers. Stable source of income.

Side Note: You should get 1 - 3 gold item drops because your solo and the runes and insignias here should also yield a nice sum of gold too.

As a couple of people have said, the most reliable ways of making money are repeatable quests. Elite area are probably the most efficient as Risus said.

Otherwise, dungeons (1-3k a run + drop + runner's pay+ ...), zaishen quests, WiK daylies...
They give a lot less, but still better than nothing when you don't feel like farming.

The only advantage to running HM is if you're looking for lockpicks/rare gold weapons. It doesn't change the amount of feathers you get.

I find that SoS is much faster than VwK for this. And yes, it is a good, steady source of income. That's my casual farm for money, and where most of my cash comes from. 2-3 stacks an hour is possible, depending on how fast you are. And you also get tons of runes (I've unlocked almost everything this way), usually a gold weapon or two a run, and lots of dyes (though I've yet to get a black or white dye this way).

I would recommend "farming" only during special events. You make a hell of a lot more per hour spent farming this way. Use your other time to do fun things and people often forget that you make money by just killing stuff. Do some dungeons or take a character to a few unlocked towns. You'll be surprised how fast it adds up if you just save a little and don't spend it all right away.

If you really want a stable farm that's not too hard, I'd say SoS solo UW. You can net a few ectos per run and it only takes about 30-35 mins. It's nowhere near the 1k+ per minute you can make if farming when special events are dropping but it's something you can do anytime.

As a sidebar, I would say one of my favorite farms was using 2 acts to 600/smite feather farm Nahpui HM during events. I think I was averaging about 80k an hour. But I haven't tried it since the changes to 600/smite. Might be too much microing on 2 screens for my liking. And then there was kegging, which was somewhere in the same range.
