Is that right?

Since I got Superior Restoration Rune in the Headwrap that gives me only 14 points total. (10 +1 +3)

Also, I got Superior Spawning Rune in the shoes and that gives me total of 5 points (2 +3)

Your guide says:

How do I get Restoration points up to 16 ?

Is there something obvious im missing?

Any tips for beginner farmer like me?

Gear Im using atm:
Basically, I got starter armor and bought me that + 15AL headwrap in Shing Jea Monastery. And im still using Hourglass Staff.

Nice guide and very nice vidoes on teh tuuube kthnxverymuchos.

You might not have the full 200 attribute points that is possible to get. There are acouple quest for getting those extra points on the factions newb island. Check out the Gardens and the Harbor... there is one 15 att quest in both towns.

Problem with farming Djinn's in Hidden city is the the damn mesmers that do damage without triggering Spirit Bond, so it you don't do it just right, they can easily kill you. Another thing, is that the djinn groups have Diamond Djinn's which are paragons, and tend to heal alot. I used to kill everything but the diamonds, but if you got Pain Inverter, you might beable to clear everything out. Still takes along time to kill them. But when I farmed there, or tried it, I used the original build.

I'm trying the rit/monk duo for cathedral of flames. But i'm finding it impossible to kill faze magekiller and his group of charr (the first boss). As his name suggests, i die in 5 seconds. The initial strip enchant (strips my life bond) + bunch of aoe spells that does burning + interrupts = Dead. Any ideas on how to get past him?

Most likely need a few skill changes. Stick in some sort of regen, and maybe a mantra to prevent interrupts. Have a play around, then post the build on here

If you are using my 330hp for the tank... have the monk take Spellbreaker or something, not sure exactly what builds you are using though. But, with Spellbreaker, you shouldn't get anything stripped. Make sure the Monk takes arcane echo too, that should help keep spellbreaker on long enough. But then again, I haven't tried any dual in Cathedral... You could take Pain Inverter instead of RoD, which should kill the bosses alot faster.

Well for one thing you can't use Mesmer skills if you use Monk as Second profession for Ritualist There isn't much you can do about interrupts for this build, but you can try using [[wiki]Mindbender[/wiki]] to get half casting of all spells... which can help from any interrupts. 1/4 casting spells should cast instantly, and be definately alot more difficult for enemies to interrupt you, unless you are dazed...

And, aslong as you got Spellbreaker on tank at all times, you shouldn't have no problems with casters... unless of course there are signets.

Update Note: I had finally added some PvE skills to the Alternative skills list. Just sucks that Guru doesn't have any skill cards for the EoTN skills, so I was forced to use links instead. I also made a few minor changes through out the thread.

10. Do Not Double Post

In these forums, a double post consists of any two consecutive posts from the same user. It does not matter whether or not the contents differ -- if no one else's words or opinions come between two posts from the same person, it's a double post. Since the forums are growing extremely fast, and the moderators have limited time, those who ignore the edit button and repeatedly double/triple/quadruple post can have their second, third, fourth, etc, posts deleted without notice, and without having their contents pasted onto the first post as per usual.

Use the EDIT Button
As the EDIT button will never disappear, you can always go back to edit your last post and add new thoughts. The practice of "bumping" is highly discouraged in these forums. If people wish to respond to your thread, they will add their opinions without the need of repeated spammed "bumps." Repeated "bumping" of a thread will most likely lead to the thread's deletion, instead.

I never thought about using the Ebon Battle Standard, thats pretty sweet to cut down the recharge of VwK. Not sure how it stacks with the staffs inherrent 20% HSR but even if the cap is at 50% its great (also at low vanguard ranks).

Great build! Thank you so much for it!

Yesterday, I discovered that you can farm the raptors outside of Rata Sum in HM, even the boss. It just takes some careful timing to avoid their interrupts, which is often their first attack since it's a lead attack. I used Pain Inverter instead of RoD.

He's answering separate questions not just blindly posting for bumps - i can't see a problem with his posts nor why your feathers are ruffled. Fair call on the third post (update note -editing the OP would suffice), but Rez is simply being helpful and answering as many questions as he can and keeping us up to date on the latest build. Give him a break...if only more of us were as giving of our time.

Rez - given there are no skill cards for GW:EN, you can get the skill icons and links by using the following format -
[*url=http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Whirlwind_Attack][*img]http://gw.gamewikis.org/images/2/2c/Whirlwind_Attack.jpg[*/img][*/url]

Just copy the URLs of the page and skill icon into the url and img tags. Remove the *'s and you end up with -

Default Added Monk Build for Dualing Dungeons Such as CoF.

Update:This is a monk build for dualing places such as Dungeons in EotN... There is also a 330hp tanker skill set for dungeon use below. I tested it out yesterday, and it worked great with 330hp Tanker for completing Cathedral of Flames dungeon in HM. I also added it to the original build post, but I will post it here for quicker viewing.

================================================== ========
Dualing with Spellbreaker Monk: This is a build for a monk that works great for dualing with 330hp tank. It can be used just about anywheres possible, and can have many variants to fit you farming situation. The monk could also help to free up acouple slots for tanker if needed.

Profession: Mo/Me (Monk/Mesmer)

Equipment:
* Any Max Armor.
* Divine Scar with Superior Divine Rune.
* Any Vigor Rune.
* 2-5 Radiant Insigneas with 1 Attunement Rune
* One Minor Smiting and Minor Protection

* Any weapons or staffs can be used, aslong as you got 20% enchantment mod.

Attributes: Attributes for Protection and Smiting can be adjusted to any amount you needed to fit you situation or skill set.

Divine Favor: 16 (12+1+3)
Protection: 10 (9+1)
Smiting: 10 (9+1)

Template Code: OwUT4yXC5IiLJlnEg5TeyEA

Skill Set: This is the skill set I use for dualing Cathedral of Flames dungeon in Hardmode. I am Sure it can be used in more than a few different places that are suitable. Anything can be replaced if needed. This also frees up a slot for Tank as they don't need to carry Balthazar's Spirit.

[card]Spell breaker[/card][card]Arcane Echo[/card][card]Blessed Signet[/card][card]Purge Signet[/card][card]Blessed Aura[/card][card]Holy Wrath[/card][card]Balthazar's Spirit[/card][card]Rebirth[/card]

Usage:
* Apply Balthazar's Spirit and Holy Wrath upon entering farming area of course.
* Cast Spellbreaker on tank whenever it is needed against casters with Interrupts or Enchant Strips, or anything that would counter the tanker.
* If only one Spell Breaker is needed, there is no reason to stand near by the tank, just move to a safe distance to avoid aggro.
* If you need to use Arcane Echo for Spellbreaker, take off Holy Wrath to prevent energy drainage so you will have energy for the second Spellbreaker.
* Most small groups with casters will only need one Spellbreaker unless there is a caster Boss that has Interrupts or Enchant Strip spells... Most of the time, Arcane Echo won't be needed, as most groups of enemies go down in about 10-15 seconds.
* Use Blessed Signet to regain energy when needed, mainly just after killing a group of enemies. Holy Wrath will drain all the monks energy while taking on a group of enemies... But you will only need enough energy to cast another Spell Breaker when using Holy Wrath, so there is no need to wait for monk to regain all his energy. Otherwise, if you don't use Holy Wrath, use Blessed Signet to gain enough energy for Arcane Echo, Spell Breaker, and the second cast of Spell Breaker.
* If using Arcane Echo for Spell Breaker, make sure you time your second cast of Spell Breaker before Arcane Echo ends. Also, for the second cast of Spell Breaker, make sure you are near by and close enough to tanker... then you can move to a safe location away from tanker.
* Use Purge Signet for after killing off a group to remove all conditions and hexes from Tanker if needed. Purge Signet is best to use as you won't have no energy after killing a group of enemies, and removes everything at once.

330hp Tanker Skill Set (For Dungeons): This is a great skill set for dualing dungeons such as Cathedral of Flames in Hardmode. Pain Inverter is great for bosses, including the last boss. LoD is good for getting the extra treasure chest throughout dungeons for more profit, and it is also good for extra damage, especially against Undead.

[card]Vengeful Was Khanhei[/card][card]Vengeful Weapon[/card][card]Protective Spirit[/card][card]Spirit Bond[/card][card]Retribution[/card][card]Essence Bond[/card]

Template Code: OAOk4gPaITKkFDxT9gWkcJpI+g+A

Yup, it works, but quicker to use a human of course. But right now I am in middle of doing Shards of Orr, with Aura of Stability. It can actually kill off those undead there no problem. Can't wait to find more areas or dungeons to farm, or complete.
