I appears you take a little bit more damage but I still solo'd this with ease. Maybe you need a little more practice. Keep working at it. You will do it more often.

For those who are in doubt

It is still doable after the nerf... but it is harder

if you have healing hands intereuppted even once you will probably be dead

and I think you must pull Ghail out of the group now

(I used to go in his group when there is only mage surronding him, their wand attack+ conjure flame used to be a good source of healing... those are the gone old day)

Now consider rasing the price for the staff

Ghial is definitely still soloable after the armor nerf. Dolyak Signet is pretty much required however (not really for Ghial, more for the Knights and Mages on the way). Took me 37 runs to get 2 staffs (one for my Rt/N and one for my friend).

Ghial, with no bodies around, is still really easy to kill, since he is always pullable (with maybe one mesmer or one ritualist following him). If the other jade is bothering you, you can always kill it first, then lure the flesh golem away from Ghial and then solo Ghial.

My build for Ghial solo is Dolyak, Sever, Final, Vigorous, Hands, Mending, Tiger, Sprint. Vigorous is very nice in case Hands gets disrupted (yes it is a 1s cast but a single mesmer can't stop you if you cast it right after an interrupt of Hands). Vigorous is also a better spell to cast when finally killing Ghial as it keeps you completely healed without Mending or Hands, and for 30s too, allowing more energy for Tiger (if needed).

I am still having tremendous problems with Royen however. The run to Royen is even easier than Ghial, but the final groups (the ones you must kill before Royen) are very very hard. There are almost always 2 or 3 ritualists supporting each other, and I just cannot break through their constant healing and weapon of warding.

I removed Dolyak and Vigorous for Royen (since the fights are easier I needed neither) and replaced them with 2 interrupts, but I still cannot kill a ritualist when it is supported by another (just non-stop constant healing).

Can Soothing Memories even be disrupted? I use Disrupting Blow the moment I see it begin and even though I *hit* him with the chop and the ritualist falls over it still casts on him. Because of this I mostly only disrupt weapon of warding.

The two interrupts do make killing Royen incredibly easy if you can get him solo (which I did twice by getting the rits stuck on the bridge), but it would be much faster and easier if I were able to kill the ritualists.

I have also tried builds with Scourge Healing (makes it slightly easier, still cannot kill a ritualist supported by 2 other rits), Vengeful Urn (they don't attack enough to kill themselves) and poison+bleeding or phantasm+nightmare on a rit (still is healed too fast when supported).

Anyone have any suggestions?

You cannot interupt soothing memory( or anyother skill) when they are holding the ash(Tranquil Was Tanasen)

They are still very much soloable, I did however do some changes to my armor. I got full glads execpt for the chest where I got Legionnairs.
So basically on my entire body I got 80 + 20 + -3 from sup absorption and on my chest I got 80 + 20 + 10 + -3, I am almost always in a stance so it helps, seeing that the chest erea is the biggest and easyest to hit. I tested this yesterday on some mages, rits and mesmers and it is working fine. I agree that all you need to do is pull Ghail away from the rest. From there killing him is still easy

Hmm, I don't have Eviscerate, and I tried replacing it with another damage skill, and I can't even kill one person at the first mob right before the bridge...

Thanks.

Like someone staring the answer directly in the face, I feel like an idiot for not realizing this sooner.

Still, is there any way to kill a rit by Royen when it is supported by 1 or 2 other rits? Ghial's were never this hard just because they either could be pulled solo, OR had other mesmers, mages, or knights in the area that they would also cast spells on (I'd just whack the others once in a while to draw some heals and warding away).

With Royen there are 2 or 3 all by themselves and I just don't know how to take them down.

Please help! hehe

It does certainly get harder to farm for ghial's staff. I used sentinel's armor but i didn't use dolyak's but I was able to do it. I don't think it is worth it to farm ghial anymore since it takes a long time to get into ghial.

I actually find Royen to be just as easy.
1. sprint to the bridge just before Royen then you can watch your agro or kill the last two you just passed before the bridge.
2. Pull the foes at the bottom of the hill onto the bridge. Kill them.
3. There will be two foes at the top of the hill. Possibly both Rits. With a bow, pull one as far away from the other as you can. Kill that one.
4. Pull and kill the last ritualist.
5. Then go for Royen. You need to kill his pet first.

It should be pretty easy. I did it in my first run.
If you still have trouble let me know.

soloing ghial isnt very hard. i found it easiest to run across the 2 bridges on the right side and fighting from there. soloing the ppl is easy. the hard part is healing while ghial has fainthardiness on u.

ok this just wont work for me, there is always a few jade brotherhood around him that you can not lure away from him. I can kill everything so that there is only me and Ghial left but he uses flesh golem on the corpse of the jade that wont seperate from him. Even when there are no bodies left he uses the dead flesh golem to make another one? what the hell since when did a minion leave a useable corpse??

Have tried to just rush in when theres only the 2 that you cant pull away from him and i just cant stay alive

Did you watch the video. Part of the trick to this farm is to not give him a body for the golem. If he only has one rit with him, just take him out. Don't bother with the others. Pull all that you can first kill them on the bridge the go after Ghial.
