Default Destroyers--Farmable?

This is a debate that several guildies and I have been having for the past few weeks: As you know, destroyer cores salvage in about 7 granite slabs. Because of such a high demand for granite, d cores seemed like the fastest route to obtaining quick wealth. But after several weeks of trying to put builds together to farm destroyers I have been unsuccessful. I have tried many locations for farming them, and used many different builds. However, I have found that there is no longer a solo farming build for dcores.

Can anyone help me out and let me know if I am missing something? Like a secret farming spot or build (possibly even a duo farmer). Please let me know if u have any insight. Thanks.

The best spots to farm d-cores are Glint's challange and DD imo.

As for a useful build for farming these areas, I am sure that you may find something to start with on PvXwiki.

I used a Rt spammer to walk out of rata sum to where the destroyer ranger boss is in riven earth(go northeast to the golem kiln instead of south east to the raptor cave. You have to go through a couple monkey mobs, but they're kinda easy, and you get a free golem to take with you. I didn't get any cores, but it was pretty easy.

If you want granite, farm stone elementals outside Sardelac Sanitarium in HM. Easy to solo and they drop granite directly, with no salvage costs, in batches of 10 slabs. Farming d-cores for granite is just not efficient.

What BrettM said. As they're pure melee (and the various casters are easily avoidable) - you can amuse yourself trying out many old school builds. I like taking my warrior out with the old dual ripostes OQATERqWZiugwYwIwIt4u0wKAAA

Yes indeed, still much more profitable doing those silly elementals, plus the sup charr carvings still have some good resale value themselves

For granite I'll say the best source is Stone Kirins. They not only may drop around 20 when they drop granite, but their horns are also salvaged for 5..7 slabs, and some of the weapon they drop can be salvaged for stone too.

I used to farm for Ashen and frozen worm husks(for granite) in Frostmaw's, but the Ashen worm husks stopped dropping. They are no longer in the game.

if you are interested in D-cores tho, I suggest doing Raven's point. Easy dungeon, takes 20-25 mins HM, and you get quite a bunch of destroyers.

I farm with the whirling assassin but drops seem really poor. About 5 mins a run usually yields about 2-3 dcores. Has it always been that low for glints?

One nice place to get a bunch of granite is Oola's Lab (the dungeon). If you can solo or duo the dungeon you'll end up with a ton of Golem Runestones, each of which salvages for 6-10 granite. When I used to 600 that dungeon I would routinely come out with a stack of granite. In addition, you get the chest drops and that particular dungeon has some really nice and expensive items that can drop (Storm Daggers, Clockwork Scythe, etc). Even if you just repeatedly do this dungeon with a team of 8 H/H you'll still get a decent share of runestones.
