This is hard to confirm from chestruns, but it wouldn't surprise me if these mods are coded to drop according to the species they dropped from. (and therefore have nothing to do with item type) And chests always pick some "nearby" mob as their base for spawning. If such a limitation is in effect I would expect mobs to *always* drop their own armor type as opposed to a mere increased possibility. That would be relatively easy to test from mobs, doing it with chests is murkier, but this particular chest might near always (or always) pick vermin thanks to its location.

Well, to answer the chestrun experience from the one fellow there, every single vermin mob in itself can be the source of a chest spawn, that makes up for 13 possible spawns, and up to 3 can spawn at once. I've also had 0 spawn, but usually, it's 1 or 2. I don't do the run because the chest-time ratio is good, if I wanted that, I'd be doing Silent Surf, I do the runs because I want cool items, and that's what they drop, and also, they don't drop retarded armor like 90% of every Plagueborn related chest.

Also, I am perfectly aware that mods are randomly generated, but it just strikes me how many of them drop there, that's why I started thinking about it, and apparently I am not the only one who thinks like that about it.

I'm just gonna continue this run, and if I find any more, I'll gladly post it on here. If the next 2k chests don't give me anything, my conclusion of course will be, that it indeed was completely random luck.

I'll do the same. I think the run is actually pretty fast, I just thought it funny that I had at least 2 chests the first five runs then basically only one after that in three times as many runs. I sell all the unid golds I get from chestrunning, unless they are an exceptional skin or a cool skin with q9 - then I'll ID them (or if grape). So as far as discovering +10 vs demons mods, I guess my sample size is that much smaller (say 15-20% of the total)

Although, I just wiki'd them, and apparently they drop there, but I'm thinking only from Jade Brotherhood related mobs, which means I am going to expand my chestrun a bit Getting one of those would be awesome^^

Yeh, I know, it's 5 usually for normal areas, less for smaller, like Shadow Passage or something, but what does it have to do with anything? :P

On that note, I would tend to aggree with you. I have gotten loads of offhands with +8-10 vs undead in FoW. As you said it might be coincidence but idk. (I also got a perfect +10 vs undead, -2^ench... but that's just another specimen for this). If it does affect the mods selection, it is kinda wierd. Okay it's good if you only want the mod. but if you want a skin in an area where the drop rate isn't for the mods you want, then that's not cool imo.

i.e. kurz forest droping more plants stuff...

Hi, I ran +- 200 chests in Pongmei valley, got 2 +10vs demons shields (1 single modded Amber, other +29hp +10vs round shield) a flame artifact +10vs demons +1fire/20% and a single modded +10vs demons earth scroll. Do I win the colourradio now? Dropchance of mods is random apart from diffirent mods coming on blue/purple/gold (max, non-max, blue non-ins always single modded on shield/foci)

I just found 2 of them doing Mantids does that sound right? They were both only +8 though.
