Default D/N Raptor Farmer

I guess not highly original and someone was bound to come up with a build based on the W/N farmer, still here's how far I've come atm :P I'd like to give D/N a try. This build is still under construction and I'm hoping you can take a look at it and improve it somewhat. Since it doesn't work nearly as well as the W/N build atm to say the least.

Attributes:
Curses 10
Scythe Mastery 8+1
Earth Prayers 12+2
Rest in Mysticism (will be 2, for the reduced cost)

Skills:
Sand Shards
Mystic Regeneration
Mirage Cloak
Vow of Strength
Mark of Pain
-optional-
-optional-
-optional-

In the three optional spots I'm using
Farmer's Scythe
Chilling Victory
Fleeting Stability

Template code:
OgSkcop4KzKj5l9yd/2Wiv/AW9C

Gear:
If high Asuran rank : all Windwalkers, if not : all Radiant since you need the energy.
Zealous Scythe with +20% enchant mod (using Asterius' Scythe atm)

The idea is that you pre-cast Sand Shards (since it lasts 30 secs anyway) and Mystic Regeneration before entering the cave. MR will give you +4 health regen for each enchantment on you and together with Mirage Cloak will keep you alive. Once you're in the cave, cast MoP on one of the raptor nestlings, ball 'em up, cast Mirage Cloak followed by VoS, and hit Farmer's Scythe.

So far I've found:
positive : in NM can kill the two big groups with one Farmer's Scythe hit. (so other attack skills seem redundant)

negative : Rekoff won't die (not even in NM), in HM the attack chain causes scatter and not enough damage to kill all raptors in one blow. In HM you still take way too much damage.

All tips will be very welcome! Maybe together we can come up with a nice farming build

After a lot of testing/tweaking builds, I have come to the conclusion that Dervishes aren't potent raptor farmers and as such, shouldn't be used over a Necromancer (or their somewhat weaker Warrior counterpart). And by potent, I mean being able to kill Rekoff Broodmother.

However, if you still wanna farm raptors with your Dervish, knowing it's impossible for you to kill Rekoff Broodmother, then there's no need for Necromancer secondary. It'll just slow you down 1 sec (Mark of Pain's casting time), because a Dervish/Warrior can kill all nestlings faster and with more consistency (less chance of being interrupted).

The following build has been tested thoroughly by me: OgGjUhrMrSmXjacXfbrXZi5F7gA

D/W

Earth Prayers: 12+1+3
Mysticism: 10
Tactics: 8

Sand Shards
Soldier's Defense
Mirage Cloak
Vow of Strength
Armor of Sanctity
Shield of Force
Wary Stance
Whirlwind Attack

Equipment:
Windwalker Insignias
+20% enchantments scythe

It uses the same P/Rit hero as the N/W farmer.

Usage:
1. Use Vocal was Sogolon and "Fall Back!" on hero.
2. Use "Incoming!" on hero (after grabbing bounty).
3. Use Enduring Harmony on yourself and then "Make Haste!", "Stand Your Ground!" and "Can't Touch This!" also on yourself.
4. Flag hero away and run inside the cave.
5. Cast Sand Shards while aggroing all raptor nestings inside the cave.
6. Use Soldier's Defense, Mirage Cloak and Vow of Strength.
7. Let foes ball around you a bit and cast Armor of Sanctity.
8. Wait for all foes to surround you and cast Shield of Force, Wary Stance, and Whirlwind Attack.
9. Pick up loot.

I found a build that can kill rekoff:

OgSkckqzKzmz+l7+t7+ZXDslo5C

You have to cast MoP twice - once when you enter the cave and once when they are balling up (on another raptor of course).

Only downside is that you need "Can't touch this!" from your hero on you to survive.

Thx for the tip! Did that, also tried that build. Doesn't do enough damage to kill Rekoff either. The Eremite's Attack is a good one, you sacrifice one of your enchantments to attack twice (= bomb).

Thx for this one, it's a nice attack chain I have to admit! But there's a problem with it I can't get around atm: they're adrenaline-based skills. I can't build up enough adrenaline without causing scatter or dying..

I don't see much difference between the build I improved (see below) and going D/W. Both can kill everything except Rekoff in a "bomb" kind of way. I'm hoping to still find a way around it, but maybe you're right and Dervished aren't potent, as you say..

Interesting, will try that tomorrow, thx for sharing. I hope you can get that second MoP in withough being interrupted. PC will cancel one enchantment for each interruption prevention, I don't know how that's going to affect the build. Could you post the run, in addition to the build? I would be interested in that!

So back to the build I started with. Thx to everyone's help I improved it to:
Mark of Pain
Sand Shards
Vow of Strength
Fleeting Stability
"I Am Unstoppable!"
Mirage Cloak
Eremite's Attack
-optional-

Template code:
OgSjcwrM7QWCmXfbqX0kcXNXDYA

Run:
Precast Sand Shards at the top of the cave, it lasts long enough anyway. Cast MoP on one raptor nestling, when he's close to you, shout "I Am Unstoppable!". Use Fleeting Stability to round up all of the nestlings fast. When you've got aggro on all of them, cast Mirage Cloak immediatly followed by VoS, and hit Eremite's Attack = bomb (you might have to keep clicking Eremite's Attack untill it goes through if you get interrupted).

Positive: can kill the two patrol groups in HM too now
Negative: still can't kill Rekoff (not enough damage), I suppose you could cast a second MoP to get around it, but since you don't have access to Wary Stance, it might (or probably will, 1 sec casttime..) get interrupted.

Any other ideas? All input is welcome of course!

Ok so i'll try to explain:

Cast Intimidating on your way to the cave (while your hero casts enduring harmony).
Cast MoP on the closest raptor, than gather them all up..
Cast Cloak and VoS just before they start hitting you so they can't interrupt VoS.
Cast Grenth's Aura, Dust Cloar, Pious Concentration as fast as possible.
Now cast the secound MoP - this will remove dust cloak so all raptors go blind.
Erimite's to kill them all.
They might interrupt Erimite's trhough blind but this wont matter as you still got PC and Grenth's Aura.

The only thing that can go wrong is the raptors not interrupting MoP and therefore not becoming blinded which might kill you... but 34 raptors not interrupting a 1s skill rarely ever happens

There might be a better option for Grenth's Aura as all it does is giving you some HP back but i didn't find anything better - it will have to be a flash ench because everything else will get interruptet and you need another ench for PC just in case they interrupt you through blind.

BTW: I use +4 on earth and +1 on the other used attributes and windwalker insignias on all pieces (exept head and arms because i needed more energie, but thats just because my derv is only r3 asura).

Hope thats an understandable description of the run and please excuse my bad english... im not native and i just woke up ^^

Edit:
Maybe i should say, that PC only cancels 1 ench for each spell you cast.
So if the raptors interrupt you 10 times while casting MoP you still only lose 1 ench.

I was kinda hoping someone would contradict me and provide a good build for Dervishes. Thanks Huibloo, that build works good!

I use Armor of Sanctity instead of Grenth's Aura. Only costs 5 energy and doesn't require wind prayers, for basically the same utility. But I suppose that slot is optional anyway.

PS: N/W doesn't have to cast 2 Mark of Pain, which is why it's the best raptor farmer imo. Still, this is a good alternative if you don't have a Necromancer. I know I'm going to use it until my Dervish hits r10 Asura; funnier than leeching.

Huiboo: thx for posting how to use the build! Do you happen to know who came up with it? It's the first time I see it here. Would still be nice if a solo one (so no hero required) showed up but I think for now the one you posted is the most viable.

Barbie: thx for the tip of using AoS! And indeed, N/W can have curses at 16 so that's no surprise really. Makes me wonder why I still see hordes of W/N in Rata Sum instead of N/W.

Thx everyone for contributing!

Barbie: thx for the tip of using AoS!
I kind of came up with the build.
Someone on a german forum postet this:
OgSkckqzKzmVPo9LhX4uYJ4bTmomLA
http://www.wartower.de/forum/showpos...7&postcount=25 (just for the images )

It kind of worked, but only if u are lucky enough to not get interruptet while using eremite's wich doesnt't happen to often.
But it got me thinking that i only have to find a way to avoid the interrupts to get this working so i started to try things out an came up with the build i posted.

AoS is a good option but i decided to take Grenth's because even a 1/4 skill can be interrupted (though of course not very likely with 72% block) and i wanted the build to be as relyable as possible.

No offense but you just changed 2 skills from my build and made it worse.
Faithful intervention has 2s casttime and sand shards does effektively nothing (the dmg is not needed and you still need 2 MoPs).

BTW:
You can switch Intimidating with Mystik regeneration or IAU if you want to - less standing around casting.

yeah. i had another one that worked perfectly less killing the boss. a bit pointless though. it seamed to work better when i threw in shards, but it might have been luck. and you're right, i need to find something better than faithful intervention-- need to test more.

Devilman, can you explain how you did that?

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't kill a single raptor.

1. drink beer -cast drunken master and shadow of haste on hero
2 run to cave and befor U enter cast: shroud of distress and awaken of blood on hero
3 go slyther a raptor (just to hold it of so hero can cast mark of pain)(mirage cloak if 3 raptors..it got time to reload)
4 after U see its Hex on it..use dash on hero (he will now teleport back)
4a offering of blood and he will not get in the way.(wamp wep +20% longer enc and the leftover hp hes got.)
5 the hex raptor is near U..so start running and get the raptors (use feel no pain if U need to heal up..but save it to last..300+hp is nice)
6 got all raptors...hit the wall and go :feel no pain-wow of strength-extend enchantments-mirage cloak
7.as soon as the boss gets in the mob hit unseen fury and 1 sec later Eremite´s attack

dervish: Ogek8Zp5Kzekq4BEO53G5F3VEUzF
necro (85hp) : OAdTQmD/5J09GAAWCAwEEAIJAA
