Smile R/A Glints HM Farm

HM Whirling Farm[Deadly Paradox][Shadow Form][Way of Perfection][Shroud of Distress][Way of the Master][Mental Block][Whirling Defense][Dwarven Stability]

Have been using this build in Glints Challenge but it requires a bonder monk (life bond, balth spirit and mending) to maintain, was curious as to whether anyone has found a way to farm glints HM with no bonder? and before you mention it i have checked YouTube but to little avail

Im guessing with a bunch of consumables you might, but then again, why?

ppl who farm glint mainly do it for Dcores, and golds, and tbh i havent had any bad drops when with the hero.

its just that d core drops have decreased significantly, and as they are a white item they are subject to scaling so soloing it may increase number of drops , or am i mistaken ?

I would say get rid of way of perfection (or master, whichever) and put in storm chaser while speccing a bit in wilderness survival. This alleviates the energy problems that you have without a bonder, as they deal fire damage and storm chaser would give you energy. Also, a tactic that has been known to work is run back and forth a bit so some of the projectiles miss.

Finally, if you are farming dcores, then it has the same chance of dropping in nm as hm, a little better actually.

Ultimak - are you being serious! swear drops should be higher in HM? only downside is very few golds in NM i suppose

There are lots of videos using the whirling farmer in nm for d-cores on youtube....ex)

If going for cores there really isnt a reason to go in hm

Nope not at all, not normal monster drops, ie d-cores.

destroyer cores are collectibles and are not subject to loot scaling but HM farming... I would say e/me but that isnt ranger anyway. Unless you want to farm golds then just farm in nm

There is a HM version listed on pvx iirc. Just take DP,SF,WoTM,SoD,Great Dwarf Armor, optional,Stormchaser and WD. Renew WoTM with DP, and SoD on recharge. +10/enchanted armor and a +10/piercing shield are req.

Hope that helps, tho it's late.

Ye, and make sure you keep moving up and down, not much tho, it helps you dodge attack's and therefore increase survival.

As above post mentioned, it's late, but if you want I don't mind on showing you the run. Just PM me if you want me to.

Made a video ages back in HM. It's easily doable but the drops always come out bad; usually just get like 5 drops.

Video is crap quality but still viewable. All the damage from Whirling + having fraps caused a bit of a CPU freeze when you killed them.

I always flag the hero so that they leave the compass and right when they leave, I pop whirling. Works like a charm

1 question for the op as its not mentioned .
Are you trying to farm only the first wave or all waves ?
I know from experience that only first wave can be solo farmed in nm ( would in theory be same for hm ) and wave 2 upwards they have enchant stripping i believe .

Also if your unware or not but the builds that solo this require all foes balled up and you almost kill them all in 1 go - this means you are doing a similar farm to what raptor and vaetire farmers do and you will suffer the same problem we all have - mass kills = less drops ( otherwise us raptor/vaettire farmers would be loaded with drops ).
Its been covered many times on already guru and im not going to repeat it here - hate walls of text but it should be easy to find via search
