If you take a look at this post....here...you can see a build I used to solo Arachni with my ranger. If going again I would definately take out deadly paradox in-place for using +1 attribute cons+BU for SF duration.

Using that same train of thought you can use a ranger for many solo ventures. Oolas, Darkrime, FoW T1+T2, or basically anywhere you would only need Assassin skills, cross profession skills, and/or replace sliver with whirling defense.

Like it was that simple.
Actually it was that simple before and other than using a 2nd person to swap now, it isn't much worse.

Pre SF changes (notice I didn't say nerf) we could run Duncan HM in about 3 minutes (call it 10 including the run to Slavers or 20 to make sure the full party got the chest). And people would actually be willing to pay 25k for that run...H/H or team runs with even a few SC's for the 4 sub bosses took maybe an hour.

Would like some input for Arachni's. We tried a run and it turned out slower than we hoped due to the ints, hex removal, and heroes. Still possible to run parts of it though.

I know its not meta, but Bogroots Manly Spike is still a very good build to use.

I've made a video guide for the tank, since the rest is pretty much the same as any Manly Spike Build

you can watch it here:

Nice thread Snow and gratz on Arachni's.

Just 2 quick questions:

- How do you get around Venomweaver's Debilitating Shot? Wouldn't you have energy issues because of this?

- Also, how do you get around Bloodweaver's Anthem of Disruption? Is red rock enough to reduce the cast time of your spells so that you don't get interrupted?

Thanks!

I had been thinking about adding the manly variants to the guide....Once I get back I think I might. Thank you for the input!

Debilitating Shot wasn't really an issue. The main issues came with poison/signet of infection and you guessed it anthem of disruption. Since this uses a ranger precasting everything works to pull and u can activate whirling in midst of mass disruption. The idea is to kill as many Blood/Life/Venom weavers as you can in one cycle. Air of superiority will give you many chances to recast spells. If you are unable to cast just run away...and precast again b4 regaining aggro. Basically you want to repeat this process until there are only spiders left. The poison traps can also help you kill troublesome loners and are especially helpful for the pesky lifeweaver.

*note~there seems to be a bug with anthem of disruption where even if you are behind a wall and not getting hit...you will still get disrupted.

I don't understand how you solo Darkrime Delves with sin. I duo the dungeon myself and it seems that without blind, killing lv 2 boss can be a pain. I believe that the Darkrime Delves build is outdated, since that was the build pre-perma nerf. However, I'm not to say it works cause I haven't tested it yet. Thanks

For the sin solo its all about your armor. Putting vanguard insignias on helps immensly, as well as having a +45 enchant +10vs blunt shield. Like noted in the guide you'll want to pull the boss back by the rez shrine to avoid having to deal with mass aggro.

10) Bogroot Growths
Bogroot Chest
a) SC~
A/D x0-1~tank~ Owpj0Nf8KT6MHQ0ksXEYrXRQxlA
A/Mo x0-1~bond~ OwNT0mH/Z6ASnhukmMeQeQnoBC
A/N x1~caller~ OwRjcwf84QHQ6M0l0klBWCfCNQA
A/P x5-7~spikers~ Owlj8xjYpSHQ6M0kNQagri7izZA
Run to dungeon. Grab quest from Griff (only one person needs as quest is automatic after that).

Level 1, either have everyone run for lvl 2 with or w/o bu. If not using bu, it is much easier if you use candy or cupcake.

Level 2, pop bu and run. Since the SF buff...getting past the Stormclouds is much easier. Continue running to Patriarch's chamber (try not to clump together while running). After the res shrine run to left side and lose aggro. Have A/N call barbs on Patriarch and spike with ebon sin. Collect key and continue to boss chamber. Bond the A/D and have them ball agro. Use MoP and barbs to help kill and collect chest.

Ey it doesnt sound hard but i was wondering do you got a video of this?

I'm curious on the Arachni's Haunt run with R/A. Seems like it should work, but little concerned about interrupts. could you explain some more?

My understanding with the sliver armor nerf that almost all builds that depended on targetted use of that skill are no longer viable.

I actually don't have vid cap software on my comp...so unless I find one or someone else makes one I unfortunately cannot provide one. I have found that most PUG groups for this will run 7 spikers~Owlk8xjTZam0BkODNZD0O2q4u4cG and 1 caller~OwRjcwf84QHQ6M0l0klBWCfCNQA. I prefer HoS myself but your jump skill is up to you. Main thing about this run is spiking with ebon sin. When the A/N calls barbs immediately cast ebon sin.

I retested Arachni's this morning. I used p-cons to get sf up to 15 and it actually went much smoother. I found that with Dwarven stab you don't really need AoS and you could probably bring another heal...maybe Shadow Shroud. I posted another SS on page one. Like the old a/e run you will want to take out the Bloodweavers 1st. Since whirling is a stance and hit all adjacent foes they actually fall really fast. So once you reach the boss chamber you can Precast for full enchants...run in and pull aggro so Bloodweavers are close together then use whirling to wipe them all at once.

Regarding the R/A build, a few points (I don't have a ranger so can't test, just possible suggestions):
> You say that AoS isn't really needed, so maybe use another long sin enchant, for an extra 5 dmg reduction, perhaps making Armor of Salvation obselete?
> Is Mental Block really necessary? With Shroud of Distress + Whirling Defense, you have a ~94% chance to block already, so Mental Block only adds another ~3%. Maybe this slot can be used for a sin enchant as above, or perhaps for "BUH!"
> What's the usage for HoS? Is it purely a heal or to get out of body blocks?

Edit: So to clarify I suggest this build:

Deadly Paradox
SF
Shroud of Distress
Whirling Defense
"IAU!"
HoS (still not entirely sure of the usage for this skill)
Way of the Master (or whatever the 60s enchant is)
Dwarven Stability

Someone here asked about ranger builds so i might fill my own in. I just might do a favor for those still actually wanting to play this game =)

Arachni's Haunt: screen of finish + time (best time is 9 mins atm, but that is a straight run to boss and matriarch I guess)

Template code: OgcSc5PT6MHQCHNQpZrg3lrG

Equipment:
Headpiece with +1 to expertise
Blessed insignias
Runes of attunement

1st level:
Use essence+grail+candy corn/golden egg untill experienced enough. After that you can make it with cupcake or red rock candy. Use alcohol when you meet ettins to prevent kd.
Burn throught spider webs with asura staff, keep Whirling defense on as much as you can to avoid poison and cripple, use antidote signet if poisoned. Venomweavers, sprouts, poison darts and might get you poisoned as well as fungai spores if they explode. Painweavers use signet of toxic shock which kills you if not fast enough with antidote signet.

2nd level:
Get asura staff from left of start and carry it with you untill end. Pop Essence, Grail of might and use golden egg/candy corn to keep SF on.
After last shrine kill all venom and bloodweavers you encounter with whirling defense.
Use walls as advantage to wait for apply poison to end on venomweavers, they only use it once.
Use Dark escape, shadow sanct and feigned when needed (when going below 1/4 health or SF/shroud is rupted)
Bloods use anthem of distruption, if you see or hear it beign used, wait for 5 seconds before casting anything like SF. Anthem affects all spiders and rupts even through walls.
Burn eggs with asuran flame staff, last egg of both egg-group spawns a boss and bloods+venoms, kill bloods and venoms first.

The rest you can figure out yourselves, but with those you should be able to do it. Most tricks can be only learned by experiencing the dungeon.

Oola's Lab:
Template Code: OgcTcVs+XSn5AC3ZF8XbC6ukmEA

Equipment:
Stormbound insignias on all armour parts
Runes of attument
Headpiece with +1 to expertise
major rune of expertise

1st level:
- Use alcohol to prevent knockdown.
- Maintain Dwarwen and break aggro with dash and natural stride
- Natural stride cancels when an enchampment is cast, time enchs
- Use shadow form only just before you come to a place xien spawns in
- Use summoning stone or teleport a sos hero (flag throught start portal) to kill xien at last spot
- Use IAU for cripple and shadow sanct when going low on health
- Death's charge if you get stuck/ need heal / just want to be quicker

2st level:
- Use alcohol (again) to prevent kd.
- Use SF when skelks are around, they cast nasty hexes. You can use it other times too.
- Run to the flux matrix, use flux to kill imps and other enemies near big golem. (do not have SF on when dropping flux matrix)
- Run to end when got the key.

3rd level:
Have party/heroes kill enemies to boss (you pull and tank). When at boss, ask them to wait down at stairs while you pull flame guardians and regulator golem.

You're right. Balling and spiking down every mob is going to be faster than running past.

The thing that has be impeding putting manly variants in, is that they are rather complicated to explain. I am almost at a loss where to start in trying to write guides for them. They all involve multiple rolls which require explaining. Maybe its just me being lazy....but I'm not looking forward to actuallly taking the time to add them. Maybe for the time being I'll just add links?
