The old way is nerfed. Old way being where Holy Wrath was a maintained enchant. However it is still viable. As far as I remember, the smite takes Shield of Judgement. That plus Holy Wrath are cast on the 600 just before he engages a group and are reapplied only if necessary. One cast is usually enough though to finish off a group.
