Yes it is still possible and there are a zillion guides on the net, so you didn't look very hard.

Take SoS, blood, shadow, vamp and go kill stuff

You might be wise to take heroes and flag away so they are greyed out, so you don't get bumped out if you die while you are learning the ropes

Signet of Spirits, Bloodsong, Pain, Vampirism, Black Powder Mine (max rank delver, take shadowsong if your delver rank is below 6 or something), Painful Bond, Summon Spirits, Armor of Unfeeling.

I use all superior runes since I do not plan on taking damage, HP is at 360

+1chan/20% focus.

Chan @ 16
Comm @ 14
Spawn @ 9

Place Black powder mine followed by all spirits on same spot, use armor of unfeeling and painful bond 2 aatxes, hide behind spirits, use summon spirits to heal and replace black powder mine when blind is ending. Go for Aatxes and Skeletons in chamber only.

Thank you, just needed the clarification that the skills hadn't been changed due to previous patches etc.

To the guy above this quote-I did look and most were 1 year old, so i needed clarification for any changes due to skill updates etc

While the attitude was a bit stale and not a very nice way to offer help; it is wise to take a hero with you (less drops) but its a duo team you can farm more by taking a ritu hero with you with the communing line of spirits and SoGM while you concentrate on the channelling side of things bring black powder mine as that is a very good skill remember on the SoGm ritu plonk flesh of my flesh on it and you are good to go good luck in the hunt for ectos

Did you read what I wrote at all?

A hero out of radar range does not affect drops at all, other than sharing gold.

Also why on earth take Black Powder? It won't help one tiny bit on plains, and any farming run should at least clear plains (8-15e per run)

ER yes and you started your post been a jerk and went on about leaving heroes at the start.
I was on about; if you take a hero with you, you might as well Duo farm it as another option to your own post which offered little advice about what was asked and the guides you mentioned have not been tweaked with in 12months............. So next time try and be helpful this is what makes a community like this great but alas you get people like your self.

PS black powder mine is great for a few things along as your ranks high enough you can have 2 sources of blind with duo farming also it still deals some damage

Been moderately succesful, dont have max rank for the black powder so im make doing with shadowsong.
Farmed 3 ecto so far *woo*
Although that took about 7 UW scrolls *blush*
But thats still a profit aye?

Just look through the old guides. The only significant changes are Signet of Spirits is weaker in level and damage and has a longer recharge, and some of the enemies may be affected by skill updates.

For example, the mesmer and elementalist updates affected enemies of those professions. The Smite Crawlers would take forever to kill solo since Reversal of Fortune was buffed after the old guides were written. RoF also triggers on life steal.

I am sure my old guide that started the build is still around on guru. I think it is probably more difficult now than in the past but still doable. I think with the recent SoS nerf I would only think the time spent is worth it running a 2 man team.

You need high HP to farm plains, else you will get targeted by the mindblades when recasting spirits and such during last spawns.

I personnally run vigor+hp runes and radiant set, with a +1/20% chan +30hp focus and a +5e +30hp melee weapon.

Get your kurz/lux and ss ranks higher, as it will make your spirits (and you with ss) last longer.

Bring a longbow/flatbow, it helps when you don't intend top use painfull too fast.

Best spots to farm in UW with your rit is :
-Chamber + lab of course, take restore for faster travel-might get problematic in some places though, start without it
-Plains if you can manage the mindblades - don't get hexed, migraine will hurt you, don,t worry if it's only the anti-sig hex
-Pools try not to get knoecked down by CBs and dryders, and teleport your spirits out of MS'
-Pits try not to get hexed again, the layout in here makes it quite harder - use highgrounds to your advantage, and bow pull as you can.

Pits is harder, but here are some tricks;
you can bow pull some stuff from the 1st cliff
before you get to the bridge, you can kill some enemies on the right if aggroed right.
When under the bridge, summoning your sprits can teleport them to the top of the bridge, helping in clearing the path.

As a rule fo thumb, after aggroing, lget back until enemies settle on spirits, then heal, recast, or w/e. 1 group at a time. Pcons can save you some time and make this run much easier/lazier.

You get a good amount of dust and iron from salvaging stuff in here, which can craft you some grails of might. those are good for extra hp energy and stronger spirits. You can bring merchant stones as needed.

Hope that helped haha
