Default What is your preferred method of farming holiday items?

I am currently doing A/Me Vaettir Farm. I never get drops doing raptor farming. Snowman is just meh.

Just wondering what everyone else does, and why?

Vaettir is probably the best way to get event items, and me now being an semi-casual player, i like to toy around, making diffrent types of farm builds for them..

If everyone was doing SCs and noone farmed, who would you buy it from?

I farm Vaettirs mostly, I get there the best drops and they're easiest.
To break the stereotype I go farm Mantids outside Nahpui and give the cele weapons to guildies.

Actual farming makes real stuff with real value.
SCs make actualy worthless stuff with imaginary value.

Imaginary and unreal speculations with money brought the real world to where it is now.

Sadly, if you want to survive in both real and GW worlds, you must go with the flow and earn imaginary currency.
Yes Raptor, you're realistic.

I don't farm the items anymore, but when I did, I'd take vaettir over raptors any day of the week.

1. real world economy has nothing to do with guild wars
2. 1 person scing will not change the minds of the rest of the population to start scing, there will always be farmers and there will always be scers, in fact there are probably 1000x the amount of farmers compared to scers
3. the last statement you made didn't make any sense what so ever.

my preferred method is doing it when it was imba -- keg farming with perma sin. Got 2 account's worth of alc/sweet/party titles (plus doing serious wisdom title progress) before the big nerfs came out of good sense.

E/Me - leaves more drops since the kills are not ALL at once...anyone else ever notice this?
Yes, I have a sin that can speed farm the vaettirs too. I get waayyyy more drops killing a bit slower (ooo, a whole minute, lookout) than the sins.

I got on pretty well with a VWK Rit in Jaya Bluffs on NM. Plenty of holiday drops and feathers. Saying that I have gotten so fed up with not having a Sin for farming that I am powering him through the levels so I can have a go at these vettiers.

Hidden part of the keg farming beheading I bet.

I use the Derv on vaettirs. Not only does killing less seem to reward more drops and makes the build safer. Always seem to die when I over aggro.

Event items always drop, so killing faster yields more of them. Drop rate reduction was a part of the loot scaling update, and yes, people noticed that a long time ago. See this thread.

The fastest way to get event items is to farm players. Acquire gold, and then buy them from people. If you want to farm event items directly, the best way is to kill as many foes as possible as fast as possible.

Well we did see some difference when my complete guild was on guild chat last year with easter. There were lots of different builds and I was still using A/Mo instead of A/Me from then on. Not because it gave me more items but I liked the build more.
There were derv, eles, monks and sins. The A/Mo seemed to get the most holiday items while others got more gold items.
It was not a competition and of course I have to believe my guild mates but what reason to lie about this. :/

For event items i like to synergize and deversify :P with:

1) Farm Nick-traveler items (sos)
2) UW farm solo/small team 1 ecto= alot more holiday items.
3) Sos Farming/feathers/dust/iron ,Liking dust ATM 200g+ @ trader
4) Vanquish areas.

In that order, for me, is the easiest way to get H.Items while also making plenty of money to buy more/better stuff :P.
If i want heaps, I farm mainly for money then buy it. something like 30% farmed 70% bought. Unless im "imagining" it :P.

So I guess farming armbraces = imaginary value that I can not convert in any way possible to another for of currency that I can use to buy holiday items of petty farmers?

Oh wait, that's right..

I'm sticking with raptors...

I don't really see the point of all the black bars in that vid, but I usually alternate between Dervish Vaettir, Sin Vaettir and Ele Vaettir, just to break up the monotony :P
