Default [HM] Feather Farming build DUO

Hi guys, I've made a duo build for farming HM Jaya Bluffs for feathers. In HM enemies drop 19-22 feather per drop, and also a greater number. After doing a run I finished with 123 Foes killed (9 of them being Yetis). Yes, duo is less drops, but you're able to do faster runs then a typical SoS. It takes approx. 1minute-1:30 to kill each mob. And can take up to 6 mobs at once. (I could only do 5 because it killed my FPS :/ )

First build
Standard Terra tank, with AV/SV

Armor/Weapons: Geomancer helps immensely in case of SF dropping. +3earth/+1 on head. Any runes. (need a minimum of 40 energy) (Higher HP=easier tanking)

Tactics: Maintain 2-5 using glyph on 2. Spam 8 when mobbing multiple groups to counter touch skills

Usage: Tank up to 6 mobs( the more the better, but also harder). Right Wall the mob. Chain 6/7 within Spirit Range. Obby flesh must always be maintained, until the whole mob runs out of energy making SF become the priority.

Famine Bonder
Armor/Weapons: Nothing matters although have 16 Healing prayers allows you to drop it to 13 and put the rest in Beast/Wilderness

Tactics: Stay back and maintain enchants.

Usage: Cast all bonds on tank and maintain them. Stay back until tank has mobbed. Run into spirit range and drop spirits. Use Symbosis when tank is mobbing 3+groups.

Reasoning: Out of all the tanking builds, the Terra tank was the best choice as its able to maintain anti-casting on its own, energy management, and damage reduct. (SF is only strong because of shroud (assassins have anti-block attacks))
Maintenance Enchants are solely for HP regen (7 pips) making tanking easier). Vital=easier Tank job.
Av/SV/Famine: Terra is not able to do alot of damage without having to stop and cast tank skills. AV/SV reduces damage out the mob by removing energy.

This was my 3rd run. 28mins=very bad. Having issues staying connected for some reason (error code 007). Also was texting :3
example of some drops.

Feel free to PM for tips, ideas, suggestion. Open to anything, but trolling and non-constructive criticism.

Yes, normal solo is fast and easy. Double Dragon was popular until the spell drastically changed. So switch out Double Dragon for Star Burst.

Funny how you make a duo build that can be done solo, then cover up your skillbar so people can't see your precious build lol.

Seriously, you need to give us more than that. What's your advantage of duo feathers when it can be done solo? (ie. are you clearing 3 times faster?)

Also, cause there's ogden in your screen, isn't hard understand that it's going likely to be a normal PBAoE farm buid just with a bonder to keep u alive.

Firstly i have to complain like many others about - HM for feathers is better - thats the usual crap we hear.
Solo - usually done in nm because foes have less armor/hp so runs are quicker.
HM xxx - foes now have more hp and in general still takes longer than nm per run.

Unless your a farmer who is insistant on getting every drop and doing it hm for better drops its not worth it.
Say an average nm run is 10 mins and you only pick up feathers/crests/golds and garbs in that time and say 100 feathrs. You could possibly do 5 runs an hr and get maybe 500 feathers in total.Hm we know is longer and total feathers in an hr would be a lot less.
Also not included in the equation is a big factor - killing a mob in 1 go gives less drops which we all know and that could mean less feathers depending on what builds are used.
A last thing to mention also is - nm means anyone can do the farm - like new players without having to complete factions just to get hm.
Bottom line - nm may yield less wanted drops but overall its faster and technically more feathers.

Ps - a propper duo would be something along the lines of 2 spirit rits altho its possible to do it solo spirit rit ( think there was a post on guru ages ago showing solo rit at end of run ).

Trophy item drops are very slighly more in normal mode yes, but feather bundles are larger in HM.

Having said that, The Bluffs is terrible for feathers, Nahpui Mission is by far a better choice, no salvage costs and 250 feathers per run + up to a stack of iron and the odd celestial wep blah blah, just takes a little longer.

Sorry just got back from a show choir competition. Taking pics and post builds now. And on the HM vs NM debate. Yes you can do faster runs in NM (idk average 10mins), but farming for the scalps i get usually 7-12 a run +2-4 feather drops(=24 at the most). In HM I get 5-8 scalps and 3-4 feather drops (=80 being the most) So you sacrifice scalps and some time, but in the end you end up with more feathers. + HM drops of course (bo staves are very common here, have gotten a few gold). I have been able to do less then 20min runs, but in those runs I have died because of connection issues. Once I am able to get consistent runs, I would assume 15-20 min runs. (I don't use any pcons)

IN response to other people.

This run is not able to be done in HM solo in a timely manner. (Enfeeble Touch (target foe LOSES 65hp)) making impossible for 55s.

And I farmed all of the Tengu in Naphui in NM and I did not get more then 100 feathers.

Hmm gonna try me this sometime. Now I might normally agree that HM for feather is not the best way to get them. But in this case the HM gold drops could also make it worth the time there while in NM all gold drops there are crap.
So I don't agree with the many people saying here it's not worth while. Thanks

the biggest problem with caromi is their mesmers who can strip enchants - so you will need something to block their spells - eg shadowform / spell breaker or even vos derv ( no idea if it can be done ).
And yes ive been the idiot who ran into a pack of them by accident as 55 n/mo and it was a very short visit as their mes slaughtered me.

This is why some of us loves CE`s builds - he will always find/create builds by thinking outside of the box.
Btw you can also reverse engineer his build on sin as me/a - something i may try later on

I used to solo HM Caromi with my 55 necro by cover up enchants, but not very efficient. And I like the Sin build only problem i think tho, is that it blocks attacks, so much it, triggers AV/SV less. = a slower kill

Oh, i forgot to say that my better time was 12 mins, was doing it for farming Bo staff

With CE`s setup i found only 1 thing that did affect the build and it may be the same problem as undead living. When you use mental block if you have everyone around you and a visage up your energy/andren denail for foes is affected hugely.I did part of a run without using it and there was big difference.

CE - any chance of a quick guide to the build , will make it easier for ppl to understand which foes to avoid and which to fight.

Update - tried replacing mental block with radiation field and that made things a bit easier with the added degen - darkbloods usually end up dying last .
Update - Decided to try build on vermin and i have to admit it that CE`s setup isnt just for sensali but a few other places ( swap out mental block for something else ).

If CE is fine with me making a new thread with the builds in and places it can work etc as well as full credit to himself as i dont want to hijack this thread.

This looks fun to run with a dual account No hero stealing drops and I've got to have something to do when I'm not doing DoA or if that Killing All The Things kicks off: killing things And this has a good chance of giving Bladed Shields and Bo Staffs and maybe some other cool weapons

1.if U see a healer or caster just run up to him and let the mob drain him for enegy
2.use walls to U left to get a nice stacking..and no running off

well mental block are good to keep many packs of small dmg down..but overkill.

You Are All Weaklings! (Shout. Inflicts Weakness condition)
fast..good reload..take a lot of dmg of bond

dual account..2xEbon Vanguard Assassin Support are good to clean up so U can take the short way..or kill any leftovers

might work on getting my sin to do Cleansing Haiju Lagoon
lot of Afflicted and U dont die if Initiate Tsuriai dies.

spiritz..I will never stop anyone from a post.
