Default Candy Cane Shards?

Other than the snowball arena, is there a place to farm that drops shards during the Wintersday in July event? Vaettir farming does not drop shards...

Nope,

With wintersday they drop from foes, but not with wintersday in July. So next time they drop in explorable area's will be wintersday.

Actually, this is the first Wintersday in July in which cc shards DO drop. Allegedly.

Having said that, has anyone actually seen any? I'm just seeing the regular eggnog, cake and summoners.

Haven't seen any of them and a wiki user made the note. I guess he used http://www.guildwars.com/events/inga...rsday_in_july/ and assumed that the announcement there ment they will be dropping in PvE. I left him a note on his wiki talk page to check if he verified it himself or that he made a (wrongly?) judgement

Official website makes a note both times shards are listed that they are an arena reward, so I'd assume they aren't a drop pending evidence to the contrary.
