Default 600 famine / smite farm foundry + city areas in 1 hr 03

Finally, 350k lb later and 22 mil exp later i finally managed to get both areas not just under 1 hr 05 but at 1 hr 03!!! Thanks to my team. (Proof below)

That's
  • 4 Margonite Gems = 12k
  • 2 Titans = 10k
  • Altogether = 22k

That is garanteed, you also get other stuff and gems, meaning that you could get 25k-40k potentially

For those who are wondering what the farm im going on about its the 3 men farm in DoA, famine, 600 and smite that people occasionally do.

http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:Te...ine/Smite_Farm <-- For more info

Anyways to my question ...
  • Is this farm better then the conventional 600 / Smite farm in UW / FoW?
  • Is it better then the UW SC farm?
  • Why isn't this being overfarmed?
  • How can I do Stygian Veil?

The reason why im asking is that I wonder if this farm I should stick to or do as well some pug SCs etc. or the conventional 600 / smite UW / FoW. Others are there out of interest.

This is the best farming run possible assuming you do one thing. Take other people with you and charge 20k per head for the run (people pay 10k for City runs that I do personally, and 10k for foundry). That way you're guaranteed 122k per hour, which is far more than you can even dream about doing any other run (HM dungeons included). With UWSC, you're not guaranteed anything, you might even lose gold depending on consets and entry fee.

I am curious as to how you cleared foundry so fast, I'm guessing your City time was around 20 minutes (thats what my typical time is), but I have never gotten Foundry in under an hour. The Fury alone generally takes a good 10 minutes, so can you share how you cut down on the time for Foundry?

Oh yeah, and not that I'm doubting you, but others may, you should take a screenshot of the time after opening the chest and showing the 4 Marg on the ground. The SS you have could have been taken after just a City run, without Foundry.

Nicely done, also not sure how sub-hour time was done... please share? Do any of you guys run foundry? Am willing to pay for it.

There are not a lot of runners in DoA the last few days...

Thanks

Could you please tell us the ways your team altered the wiki build, because to me it seems like it'd be pretty hard to do doa with those 3 builds

thanks

1. No, its about average.
2. No it isnt.
3. It used to be, now people got bored of it. (EoTN and CoF)
4. Play with Symbiosis. (not sure how much of it you could do. I doubt you can do all of it using a build similar to this one)

People posting obviously have no idea how to do this run, so let me make it idiot-proof simple. When tanking the Fury, you have to run behind a wall so he cant hit you (and strip your enchantments with his monster skill). Ki's have to be maneuvered so they aren't behind a wall and are able to hit you. Getting both of them to be able to hit you takes some work, and thus extra time. Even with PI, and getting them setup perfectly, they will take a while to kill. Stop trying to be smart asses and know what you're talking about before you speak.

Back on topic, gratz on your time OP, I hope you start running people through this so they will stop PM'n me for City.

Nice Idea. The old 600/smite/Famine works everytime for DoA. Remember back day when you could make 40-70k+ in Foundry from Titans.

Well I'm really suprised by the time you did there.. The thing is that I don't understand how you did that fast... As a tanker, I normally take 1h00 to clear foundry and another 20-30min to clear torc'qua. So my question is... How do you clear the foundry that fast? And as another said, it take a good 10-15 minutes to kill the fury alone...

Thanks in advance..

Hey guys, when doing foundry with the 3 man, how do u clear the 2nd room? I can clear the first margonites and titans, but the 2nd room everything spawns on top of everyone.

Thanks for any help in advance.

your friends go into the room and stay at the other door and cast sq+qz .. you charge in and depending on your luck you might get a good spwan or a bad one.

btw I noticed there isn't a guide about the 3 man team for foundry ... there is the build on wiki but alot of people don't know what to do inside there like after clearing the area what to do with the snakes and how to stash them after you save them.

sorry again guys for reviving an old thread but its better than creating a new 1.

Anyway I really need any tip on killing the Fury faster. I can kill him but it takes a long time to do so.

What I do is aggro them and hide behind the pillar so fury doesn't hit me. I try hard so that all foes beside fury can hit but it takes a couple of tries. sometimes I give up trying to get them all to hit me so I kill a few then die then kill the rest and then fury. Also why dont the mesemers hit me until all are dead ?! I mean there are 3 right, so the first start hitting only after the last ele dies then the second 1 start hitting after the 1st mesemer dies or one of the KIs die. Its like they wont attack if 3 or more foes are attacking you so why is that?!

Thanks in advance.

Tips:
- Drag Fury very near pillar at other side, so he pretty much can't attack anything (rammed into the pillar) and you will find his minions scattered around. If too far, its a lot harder imo.
- Keep Famine in range of the minions and fury, it makes it faster.
- Spam your single - targeting hex (Pain inverter / Spirit Shackles) a lot on a mesmer or a monk. This is to get them to cast Hex Eater Vortex thus using up more mana.
- Idea is to get EVERYONE to attack you, so you can cast your hex more (more energy), so you can cause more energy denial to the mesmers and so make them attack you faster.
- Once they hit 0 energy they will start attacking you.
- Sometimes they hit 0 energy and don't start attacking you until the kis are down (bug?)
- This takes me around 10-15 mins

Tips:
- I usually take 19 minutes to clear the mobs up to the Snakes, often 18 minutes with a competent group. To do this trap them ASAP around pillars and chokeholds to stop them scattering.
- I don't rescue the 3rd snake but let it die. There is no need to. I flag him but let the mob chase the snake down and kill it. This is the snake with the huge horde of deminta Titans following it. I don't even kill these in order to save time. NOTE: Only 600 should accept quest until after Argh until when everyone else should as it will say FAIL on the 600 quest log and all others who took quest, but when after Argh they accept it, it won't say FAIL
- To cut down time on Snakes I don't trap them at all. I use the smiter / famine range to strafe left and right to attract snakes while I go in and aggro Argh. However, since I don't usually die, I don't usually need to trap snakes. If you do die, you will need to trap (so smiter can ress) and to make it easier to do argh. Once Argh and his minions have been killed the snakes stop and won't follow you anymore anyway. This cuts down on around 4 minutes.
- This next stage before Fury often takes around 5-6 minutes.
- Fury then takes 10-15 minutes.
- Foundry then takes 35-40 minutes.
- City then takes around 19 minutes on a good run, as pain inverter makes things a whole lot faster. But on average around 22 minutes.
- Averages at around an hour

Well notice to all, I've started running this run like in Feb after the helpful mention on guru and started getting 130k an hour. Well, pretty nice cash for a was-average farm imo. This is good because:

- Anet can't nerf it - it is far simply too hard for many and so goes unnoticed.
- Not many will run it due to difficulty
= Bonus.

I really like how you did this but I am just wondering if this is capable with heroes as the QZ and smite?

Thanks in advance.

No and Yes

-No: if you plan on completing full foundry including end chest. Otherwise can only do mobs. Works fine with city.
-Yes: If you have 1 other human player in order to run snakes you can run full foundry which includes running others. Works fine with city.

I hear that many people do not believe that foundry can be done that fast, so i give you an example... 14-18 min foundry clear, 10-15 min for snakes+beast+fury and 14-18 min city.
Average run 25-35 minutes and my best time for both areas is 44 min.

personal note: 25-35 min foundry runs are VERY fun as 600, i would like to see others do it, so i could relax and smite or famine.
Your could do 20 min runs or even less with perma, he helps with fury and running snakes faster but i do not like it, it takes away my fun from fury group.

Perma should run the same build as in gloom, his job (if the tank wants) to take snakes and recal after they are safe (only if you are running snakes).
after all snakes been taken perma kills fury and 2 ki's that with him, after fury dies perma can recal and 600 finish the group.
If u do 5 man 3 areas (gloom+foundry+city) perma can safe the group from bad pop in room 2 (foundry), when 600 goes agro make sure perma has his elite on, if u get bad pop perma can kill the 2 pop groups and rez with scrolls.
this way u could pass the 2th room 100% and not start over again in gloom.
