Default Glint's Afk Farm

This is a build that can easily afk glints challenge in NM for Dcores and Cloths.
I had posted this in another thread but thought i would be better suited in the farming section.

I run all minor runes on hero's and most run shield/spear caster set. make sure the 5 Mes's are set to aggressive, the Rit on guard and the E/Mo on avoid.

Don't forget to display your Deldrimor title.

This build is not 100% flawless but i have gone on runs of 30+ before a fail. there is also 1 rare spawn where a Distroyer of lives will spawn outside of argo range, it is towards the end so just come back at your regular time and get hero's to target it, after that its just another minute to kill 4 bosses.

Run in and go up in front of the baby dragon, flag hero's and stand where i stand in the picture below and wait until 1:30, when 1:30 hits place EoE and then watch some T.V.

Picture of where to place hero's. Make sure there is an ineptitude hero on the left side and the other on the right side.

Most runs will end in the low 19 minute mark with some getting into high 18's. highest score i've ended with is 2139.

If you feel like the hero's are never dying then you can drop flesh on the 2 Me/Rt and make them Me/E with GOLE to speed things up a little.

Just a side note, keep an eye out on the blue shield drops, i've had three 7/15 tac spiked targe drops which were all sold for over 100k each.

The builds are the same as used in the OP, only used the common heroes instead of specialised mercenaries.
EoE may be not used at all, but it speeds up the process a bit and i wasn't really AFK anyways, so i popped it every now and then. If not being completely AFK, you might also take Winds and Summon Ice Imp. By Urals Hammer! may help in critical moments, which sometimes occur; but as said, nothing is really necessary and it may be done completely AFK.
The run took 20 minutes and 35 seconds. The only thing the player actually has to do is be present by the end to collect worthy drops and open the chest.
Heroes sometimes die, it's nothing to worry about. Your toon may sometimes die, too, so it's not advised to farm Glint's AFK for survivor.
One odd thing, though, is that despite heroes are set to aggressive, they do not rush out to attack Destroyers of Compassion at the beginning of the second wave, until they come up and start attacking the party.

If the thread's author has nothing against it, a mod could paste the link to this post and/or the video to the opening post, please.

Any chance you can post the skill codes as you image only shows the icons and is very small and when you click to enlarge it does not do so.

Thanks for the info and help

For you people lacking mercs, there are alot of builds that can pull this off. A communer + paras works for example. You can use minions but they're really slow, as they will go and attack some stuff out of range of your guys, and the last few mobs of a wave not dying will prevent the next form starting.

hes right, i have done this without merc's and it is alot slower, the minions make wave 1 and 2 really slow. you have to think outside the box to get a build that works without merc's.

Hey, i was wondering if this method of finishing this challange is considered cheating. Because you practically do not have to do anything for it, just stand still and let your heroes work for you, so you can basically afk. Isn't this an unfair advantage against other people? (however they can decide to do this aswell) On the other hand, everything happens in-game and there isn't any 3rd party software involved.
But still, is it just me, or is this an unfair advantage?

Please be nice
Any statement of Arenanet that this method is allowed is more than welcome! So I will be glad to try it out myself --> I'm just taking care of my account since I have spend many hours on it and trying to max my HoM points for GW2, It would be such a shame if it will be lost due to some AFK'ing xD. Thanks!

so i guess flagging hero's ahead of you to kill mobs for griffons quest in FOW would be considered cheating in your mind?

@cheating:

I generally let the heroes/hench do all the work anyway. Most vq's I do are done by just moving my character around the map and watching tv; the hench kill everything for me.

*shrug* So, this mission doesn't require you to move, that's the difference... otherwise the hench do everything for you, as usual.

PS: If I guessed the attribs in his build right (and if i didn't screw it up), here are the codes you can use:

OQhDAYwjSvAIgrA5ZoAZALfXM
OQhDAYwjSvAIgrA5ZoAZALfXM

I wish I had some merc heroes, I'd try it out, looks neat. Kind of boring, but neat all the same.

I gotta be doing something wrong, on the first waves my flagged mes heroes run over the ledge and eventually die, can't even get past first wave, they are all set on fight and have skill runes.

Finally got it to work after 5-6 tries, spent 25k on runes.
So the timer pops up after the last boss is defeated, so you can't truly be afk then come back pick up drops and repeat?

should check the top left of your screen shot before you say afk, if your not going to afk its faster to add a Minion bomber and another spirit spammer and just run back and forth.

Anybody has substition builds if you do not use Merc heroes already? I'm currently not available to make builds as of personal issues/private life. If somebody hasn't yet figured out a substitute build, we can discuss it further in here?

I seriously doubt NCsoft is going to frown at $20/$30 spent for mercs to make it a snooze-fest for the player...

EDIT: Plus another $20/$30 for new character slots to grow the mesmer mercs (assuming you have filled all available, and don't want to delete them)...

EDIT': Besides, this afk is the same thing that has been done for years, farming the mini polar bear mini during wintersday...

This is as "unfair" as running, its in the game and its not against the EULA, so what i say is... EXPLOIT THE HELL OUT OF IT BEFORE ANET NERFS IT!

my thinking exactly, guarantee some kid has already asked his mom for her credit card number. highly doubt they will care about this if its making them money. especially with gw2 coming out. this will be useless after its release.
