Default Farming 2014+

Hey,

I had a 2 years break from Guildwars and a 4 years break of farming in guildwars.
My friend and me gave away all our items and money, cause we thought we would play only GW2 anymore, but since GW2 sux hard, and we got bored of other games we try to come back to Guild Wars 1.

Since PvP is dead, or nearly dead, so it makes no fun anymore (made most of my gold there)
and i have no idea of actual trading and speed clears, i wann try to farm again, cause it was always great fun xD.

So my question would be, which area + profession would be the best for farming right now?(+Guide would be great)

Is there still a possibility to Solo farm UW/FoW?
Is it still possible to farm with 600hp monk + smiter (+mby famine ranger)

My friend and I tried CoF 600hp+ smite but It's really hard, because the smiter dies easily.

yes UW is still solo farmable on dervish and ritualist not entirely sure about the ease of warrior anymore,

fow is solo farmable on sin ranger dervish mesmer , duoable on [2x rit][1x derv +1 sin] not sure about others

most popular farming spots have been nerfed drop rate wise.

your best bet is to learn to run a dungeon for profit and farm the end chest with u and your buddy, a couple i can think of is heroway 2 man VS farming in slavers, chrysocola farming in ooze, silverwing farming in frostmaws, CoF is still doable on a monk, rit, ranger, sin, ele, mesmer, not sure on any others.

the only really viable farm is dragon moss farming on sin and ranger in terms of possible loot but the dry spells are just soul destroying.

outside rata sum it is possible for Warrior and i believe necro to farm the entire raptor cave + boss which makes for more frequent gold drops with far less value.

the only one i have time for personally is solo derv smite run in UW due to ecto drops and possibility of some nice eternals however the run lengths of these are quite lengthy so not to everyones taste

hope tht helps and im sure others will link builds if u wanna see some of mine pm me on guru

A while ago, just not too long.
I'v bought a 600/Smite Cathedral of Flames run.

Since the nerf of Holy Wrath, the main damage comes from.. Hammer Monking.
As i didn't asked his Builds, i can tell it looked soomething like this.

You as 600hp hammer tank :

Prot Spirit.
Spirit Bond
"I Am Unstoppable!"
Spell Breaker (elite)
Whirlwind Attack (pve)
Crude Swing
Yeti Smash
(Probably Essence Bond or Shield of Absorbtion.) / Unknown

Smite Hero :

Vital Blessing - Disabled
Retribution - Disabled
Strength of Honor - Disabled
Balthazar's Spirit - Disabled
Blessed Signet
Purge Signet / Purge
Unknown
Unknown

Back-up Hero :

Unyielding Aura (elite)
Blood is Power - Disabled
Order of Pain
Patiënt Spirit? - Disabled
Unknown

This setup SHOULD work in diffrent area's aswell that are not too punishing, or skills that able too remove enches by bypassing them.

This was the setup that i think that took place.
And it worked surprisingly fast and effective.
Attribute's are not sure, but quite obvious as you see the skills.

Note : "why not take cyclone axe?", Well hammers have higher and more steady top damage which is i think the reason why its a hammer monk

Zephyr.

I'd have thought it was because hammers have both crude swing & yeti smash to work with, whereas with axes you're stuck with just cyclone as triple chop isn't an option. Base damage from autoattacking will be rubbish either way, so it's just a case of getting the most out of the boost from SoH and attack skills.

While it was years ago, I do remember getting a CoF run from someone using a 100b/EBoH - SB/smite hero - EoE/splinter hero set up. Worked out ok as far as I can remember.
Although the only reason I even remembered that much was because one of the other customers threatened to hack me after I picked up some random unassigned gold drop he was apparently stalking, lol.

Outside of nahpui quarter you can farm mantrids as a ranger or sin and the occasional chest popping up near or in the path of the farm
