If they drop magmas then a chest near them will also drop them. Same for the Titan quests. Chests are influenced by the mobs surrounding them. This is true for skins and req.

pretty much this, best chance for magmas shield? chest run hells precipice, the only chest that does not have a chance of dropping magmas shield is the chests near portal wraiths.

Used to chest run there heaps with a 55 monk. A chest almost always spawns in the lava at the point where all those portals are. Worst part about chest running there is Wild Blow. Take note of it's recharge and time your stances accordingly.

I would also open chests near the Wraiths aswell. You never know . . . those swamp club rumors could be true

The rumor was they dropped from portal wraiths not chests. I suppose they could have dropped from portal wraith chests but something tells me the hopes of getting one from a chest disappeared with the removal of keyless chests. There was proof that they dropped from portal wraiths yet you never heard of one dropping from the chest.

Once it was discovered they removed the swamp club once and for all. Probably because it shared its skin with too many other weapons and the name didn't fit the skin. It was a hammer never meant to be.

I rarely have to worry about wild blow & stuff.

I have this bar, with r10 everything:

Then I use heroes. All my War/Paragons have: Either Charge or Incoming, Fall Back, and a few other support shouts. Rest are monks for quick heals. Sometimes I bring spirit spammers for more bodies, or blinding eles. I prefer War/Para/Monks though.

Even if they remove my stance, I can usually just run away with shouts. If that fails HoS is amazing for escaping mobs if you use it right.

No luck yet on the shield but I'll keep hoping for a dual modded q9 haha. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get one before GW2 comes out. I'd say that gives me a few years the way it's been going

Edit:

I didn't know you could get rit staves in proph. Is this normal?

Well, I very much didn't expect this so soon.

Debating whether or not to ID it still...

Congratulations on the shield, I ran there far too much and never even sniffed one

You could probably sell it either way (Merchant likes crap mods) Or for a laugh open a thread with a poll asking the question?

Yep its normal. About two years ago I dropped Dead staff with channeling attribute during Riverside Province Mission. I think also skins like Raven Staff may drop with ritu attributes.

Yeah I believe it was a Raven Staff with a rit attribute as well.

As for the shield, I'm gonna try & test it before I ID it. I assume testing unids still works?

Edit:

Well, I checked it and it did not give me any + HP with it on, enchanted or in a stance, so I figured it wasn't going to be what I was looking for so I went ahead & ID'd it.

Wasn't expecting the dwarves mod but it seems to be merch food regardless.

Map on the mineral springs.

You'll find Shiververpeaks chest.

If you have the first quest "defend droknar's forge
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Defend_Droknar%27s_Forge

you will find some titans chest.

This spot isn't really good ~8mn/3-4 chests

Have fun & peace

I've recently started collecting emblazoned shields, so I figure I'll end up chestrunning for them a decent bit...

Any experienced chest runners want to suggest a route that's given them a good number of these? I know generally where they drop, but I'm wondering if anyone has more specific experience in routes.

Found one some time ago in southern part of Silent surf, so jade sea chests (surrounded by carps, leviathans and all that crap). Good routes? Probably Silent surf as said, and gyala hatcery (from leviathan pits all the western side of the map is that kind of chests iirc).

But is a quite rare drop anyway, so don't expect them to be so frequent sadly.

Dont know if anyone will find this useful, but i quite like this run and dont think its that well known. I present, my Stone Summint run ^_^

Yellow dots are basically the chests with most likely hood to spawn, green spawn some times, and blue ones spawn hardly ever and are very unlikely to even be stone summit chests.

Each run is about 2-2:30~ mins and quite straight forward. I do it in NM, and tried it in HM, but wow, it really was hard haha xD

Get some good drops, and for me, awesome retain rate!

Im mainly doing this run in the hopes of a lovely oldschool Warlord Shield, but my hopes arent that high

I hope you like it!

this is the RT1/2 run for MQSC (Mount Qinkai) start from Aspenwood gate, you get 1-3 chests on this route, I do a lot of mqsc and i see them drop frequently (all crap mods offcourse )

+ the top route (see gw.pvx) the yeti route has chests that can drop Paper fans (in 100+ mqsc runs i got 2 fans here both mono mod )

+ the beach route (gw pvx) has a outcast chest 25% of the time which can drop outcast shields/staffs

Best outcast chest farm is...

Make sure you have more kurzick faction than luxon
Grab your Para heroes and equip Incoming or use a SF sin runner
Go into rheas crater from Aurios Mines.
Get yourself killed.
You will now rez in the middle of the map with Outcast groups around you and 0-2 chests spawning in the area.

Yeah, doing this one alot, works very well. Also, if you're good enough at running w/o getting killed, there are some jade sea chests spawns around there too.
