Default The Chestrunners Thread

Hello dear ladies and gentlemen! (Stole that from somewhere...)

I was thinking of making a thread for chestrunning builds since there has been several requests on the forum lately. If you want to post here please post in this form.

Please add if you got builds for Hard Mode, I'll add a [H] if it's for Hard Mode.

You can do Luth Conservatory FF runs and grab the chests as well. I was doing this solo in less than 5 minutes before NF came out.

Kurzick Keys are 600gp I think

Drops are decent...the rare Gothic drops, alot of Amber crap, and the infamously hard to sell Marble Hammers. Personally I would merch anything that's not worth more than 5k or salvage it for mods. I've gotten my share of Gothic Duals, singles, Gothic Swords, & Gothic Defenders.

The build I used was all Proph+Factions skills. Could probablly do better with the new NF skills. Here was the build I used though:

[skill]"Charge!"[/skill][skill]Sprint[/skill][skill]Healing Signet[/skill][skill]Purge Conditions[/skill][skill]Contemplation of Purity[/skill][skill]Holy Veil[/skill][skill]Endure Pain[/skill]

16 Tactics 13 Str is what I used but it really doesn't matter much.

Last skill slot was optional. If running with a group I would do a rez sig. Obviously this build could be tweaked with the nice new skills in NF. Charging Strike & Mending touch come to mind right away, and perhaps some others as well. The key part to this build was the Holy Veil + CoP combo which would remove 2 hexes and one condition (usually used when you get the Dream guys' hexes on you which is crazy degen + "cripple" hex).

Very profitible if you consider they are high end chests with the possibility of good drops and you get XP, Faction, and gold to boot.

Edit: Try this bar if you got all three chapters:

[skill]Charging Strike[/skill][skill]Signet of Stamina[/skill][skill]Healing Signet[/skill][skill]Mending Touch[/skill][skill]Contemplation of Purity[/skill][skill]Holy Veil[/skill][skill]Endure Pain[/skill]

I would say work Lion's Comfort in there too but since it's an adrenaline skill I'd prob shy away from using it.

I haven't even bothered getting my warrior through NF yet so suggestions are appreciated...

GYALA HATCHERY CHEST RUNNING

I love to use W/A with Shadow form because you can open chest inside of big group with any trouble.
I get 3-5 chest on run and its pretty easy + you can get the cool looking Jade swords.

If you see a chest in group of nasty monsters use Shadow of Haste in safe distance from the group. Right before you aggro the group use Shadow Form.
When you open the chest and pick the weapon hit Sprint and your safe outside of the group. IMPORTENT: Dont forget to wait for SF to end and heal yourself up because it happens that you sprint in a group with 5s SF on you.
For using SF to go throu the groups use Deadly Paradox-->Shadow Form--->Sprint.

You dont need to worry much about Outcasts and Naga.
Dont leet Creeping Carp to touch you because Expunge Enchantments will end your SF and leave you with 50hp if that happens use Endure Pain and Signet of Stamina.

For equipment I use Totem axe, Sunreach Shield, Glad armor and 1+2 Strentgh helm.

Have good fun and pls no spell checks

2-4 Chests per fun from what I remember. Just goto the Conservatory and get in a faction farming group and that should help you learn that part of it. The chests are pretty much in the same spots as the points you have to run by to complete the FF quest.

With these new NF skills it should be even easier than when I was doing it. And like I said before I was doing it in less than 5 minutes per run.

NOTE: This is an old build. Some of my newer CR builds run it alot better, but i love copy+paste and this build works fine.

RING OF FIRE CHEST RUNNING:
ASIxlxaQcff8UD85KcmD

Image

Armor:
Armor with +AL v fire damage.
Major vigor, Minor WS, Minor Expertise. Either WS or EXP mask.

Yellow Dots/circles: Known chest spawns.

Blue Circles/dots: Mursaat Chest Spawns (drop mursaat items/garments)

Red line: Path to take. First | is the cutscene. Second | is where the run ends.

HOW TO RUN IT:
Bring henchies and heros.

If you see a chest (hold alt to see chests as much as you can during the run), read the next paragraph. If not, skip the next paragraph.

So you see a mursaat chest at the first seal, eh? Hit troll ungent, then balanced stance (make sure your out of the seals energy drain). As SOON as you get hit by mind shock, hit Escape. Open the chest, grab your drop, and get the hell out of there (continue along the path)

Note the light blue dot on the map, here is where you MUST hug the wall to the left and make your way around the seal. DO NOT aggro the seal and the jade. If you do you will lose most of you henchies and maybe yourself. Heal if you need to, then continue on the run (holding alt), keeping a look out for any chests.

Fun part. Head for the lava, before you go through it, hit troll ungent and once thats cast hit dodge. Flag the henchies as far past the seal as you can. Run through the lava, making sure not to get body blocked by the ettins. Hopefully you have henchies to take the main dmg from the seal, if so, run your way and hurry to that cutscene. Once you skip cutscene, hit healing spring to bring everyone up to full health. Wait for some regen for the monks.

Should you be lacking henchies when you reach the lava, Hit troll ungent and get in a spot where you don't aggro any ettins from either side. Wait for the seal to start engaging a group of the ettins and charge in. Use escape and when that runs out (hopefully past seal) hit dodge.

Continuing on. Should there be a chest around those 2 ether seals, start down the hill, (not to the point of mursaat aggro), flag henchies to the chest while using troll ungent and then hit escape. This chest is called the suicide chest for a reason, its hard to survive. This has net me the best drop rate of mursaat hammers and bows, though.

Should there not be a chest, just continue along the path. Keep troll ungent up when you need to, and always have a "dodging stance" up (stance that has a % to block attack). Escape, Whirling, Dryders, Dodge. The lava spitters are easy to get through.

Once you reach the fire imps, if you see no chests, resign or just map back and repeat. If you do see a chest, flag henchies in if there are any alive (not likely). Hit troll ungent, escape, then right before you open the chest hit dryders to help with fire dmg.

NOTE: This is an old build. Some of my newer CR builds run it alot better, but i love copy+paste and this build works fine.

Have you guys tried running in Hard Mode? The drops are amazing. So far all gold with either +5 energy or 15^50 or Staff with 20/20 or 20/10 inherent mods. I also found a lot of runes and an Elite Necromancer Tome. (all in Prophecies and Factions, haven't tried Nightfall yet)

Drops have been good for me too, but I'm doing it while I'm farming LB in mirror of lyss. I tried running, but apparently in HM most foes have running skills, and aggro just follows. What build/place are you using?

I've been using Henchies and flagging them into mobs with chests.

My build is:
[skill]Shadow Form[/skill][skill]Death's Charge[/skill][skill]Dark Escape[/skill][skill]Enraging Charge[/skill][skill]Endure Pain[/skill][skill]Shadow Refuge[/skill][skill]Feigned Neutrality[/skill][skill]Signet of Stamina[/skill]

I advise running in areas without a lot of Hexes. (You can use this build pretty much anywhere)
