I too am a W/mo and AM Not a noob w/mo because i have enough dmg output and could survive pretty well. I prefer to use protection sometimes other than the healer type. Quivering blade is my main attack skill and it gives out a pretty decent amount of damage.

Good Morning, Avarre! Someone Is Dissing You Today!
EDIT: Since somebody is complaining I'm taking this out of context, I'd say...well...usual Wammos I meet don't yell, they just yell if you advise them.

I my self am a wammo but I also play FPS games alot so I know that going on your own most of the time just ends in tears. I completely agree with "Most of them are suffering from a "lone hero" mentalitly. They think it's just them, owning everything and everyone." If you go around in a group even a small one with 2 other guys things will go so much better. Of course there are a handful of wammos that really can go it alone (I admit I am not one of those people) but they are really not that common. I can survive on my own against a couple of others for a couple of minutes using protective spirit and shielding hands, but then my energy runs out and I'm just stuffed then. Personally I think people should look at how good they really are before bragging to everyone about it. I am constantly learning how to better myself and feel obliged to say thank you to Katalyia for starting this thread and Carnie for suggesting the use of Smiting Prayers instead.

wammo's have a bad name because:
-they were/are most frequently seen in prophecies
-they are notorious for running out and aggroing monsters
-they are notorious for their badmouths to other people (ie. noob monks heal!!!!!)
and as such, they are automatically given a biased view. In PvP, the pre-made template of the wammo is already a pure sign of that player being new to the game, because a player that has at least a bit of pvp experience will know that in the PvP world, you cannot solo 4 guys vs you. Even if you are using a farming build or whatnot.
Also, I don't think this problem with the wammos can be solved because the Paladin, as a general class, across all MMOs are very popular. The W/Mo is that said Paladin class. They are viewed as a "newb-friendly" class because of its ability to be able to survive by himself, whether it be a fact or fiction.
And because of this view of Paladins being newb-friendly, a lot of new players would use this combination so there is always going to be the new players, and there are more new players using wammos than there are good players using them. It's only natural that people have a biased feeling towards them.

I've been one of those crap wammo's but I found a solution to become a good wammo. First of all I suggest you try playing as a monk. THen you can see how bad it is to run into the next group when the monk still needs to regain energy. I've done this and even if it's not really that kind of a big deal it really helped me. And with a few changes to my build I'm starting to become a good wammo. Better then the average I guess :P

Stop whining about wammos using mending. They like it. You don't. Good luck changing them.

I've started guildwars 13 months ago..and I still remain a W/Mo on my char and I consider myself an experienced w/mo because I bring all the right skills and have never been commented badly. So w/mo's are not all noobs and that class combo is very good for pve since the healer sometimes can't get to you in time if they don't have enogh energy. Btw, not all w/mo's use mending.

I don't like W/Mos. Scratch that, I don't like me playing W/Mo. I had one then scrapped him because I wasn't being effective in neither killing nor keeping myself alive.
I've partied with plenty of W/Mos and I've meet some indeferent W/Mos and some nice ones. I've never met a disrespectful or rude one yet. *fingers crossed*
I don't find anything wrong with them. They think the roll of the warrior is to be in the front lines and kill things. There is nothing wrong with that, however, just like everyone in GW, you must know when to back off and reheal. Assassins don't always do that, or at least they take way too much damage before they can escape. Mesmers aren't all rude, its just the people you play with. A person's personality is just that, it shouldn't be a reflection on the profession.
Helpful advise to W/Mos:
Don't bother with mending, healing breeze or even balthazar or essence. Bring a hex & condition remover and rebirth.
Let the monks and ritualists heal/protect you. This is a symbiotic relationship, you kill and they heal.
If you solo or travel with henchies then:
Bring Balthazar's and Watchful Spirit. Then bring mostly adren skills. With both enchantments on you (watchful spirit as last enchantment) you won't be getting any regen of energy (except from those who hit you).

Because most of them won't, listen, call you a noob, start laughing, or boast with ebay'ed items...even if you suggest stuff nicely.
Like the PvP assassin in RA with an uncustomized victo's blade..he kept saying it was better than a pvp sword...o_O

*sigh*... Why all the hate people... Yes the W/Mo is now the Pawns choice of class...
But my Primary Character is a W/Mo and i pride myself on playing well, and destroying peoples oppinions on them.
Unfortunatly your all right... W/Mo's for the most part suck... i find myself dropping to my knees in shame that i may be associated with them.
Yeees we all know mending blows. and we sRED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO a little inside everytime we see it being cast by a warrior... i myself think realising mending sucks is part of the learning curve of being a W/Mo but you know...
But alas as a hardened W/Mo i understand your pain. and am upset that what can be a very experienced warrior be ignored because of the majority of giant tits playing as the same class.
Things can only get better for us W/Mo's who actually pride ourselves on improving how people view the W/Mo.
well i think thats the most ive said W/Mo ever!
(Oh and someone had it right... Alot of W/Mo's never play with any other character classes... that is 1 of there large downfalls... you know a experienced player by how he trys to aid the group. based on his/her knowledge of other classes and how they help him/her)

I met a lvl 16 W/Mo in GoK a few days ago, who was running a pure monk build.......couldn't stop laughing for 15 minuts, with his +5 healing breeze and his +45hp orizon of healing he tried to overheal me(I was a Lvl 20 WoH monk)
after the mission he asked me how it was possible that my healing power was "so high".
and how i could chain 10+ spells =S
that's a noobish W/mo

Im not a noob and im a W/mo then again i can be W/(anything ^^)
but I have seen some bad w/mo like in pvp i was makeing a few new builds and this guy ran in useing a hammer with frenzy heal sig and mending and he died saying wtf over and over and over, I told him dont use frenzy he said but thats the only skill that makes you attack fast I was speachless
but just becuse theres a majority of shitty wammos dosenot mean there all bad I get completments from people all the time for doing a good job
like when (way back when oro farming was a popular thing)
I was a stance tank I always got gruops becuse I was good not becuse I said i was I proved it then i got tired of oro farming and swichd to solo farming griffons and such till anet took that away I cried but i got over it.
damn bugs...
so I now run people with my w/mo and I do Pl with my w/mo
so screw you w/mo haters!

IMO the main reason people might want use w/mo build is because it helps counter the degen. But in my opinion the 2 pip of energy really dont matter, if you go look at the guildwiki skill list, the most powerful attacks are all adr based,
what i usually do is put on mending + watchful on my warrior(knowing there is no enchantremoval in pve) and use battle rage to fuel up powerful adr attacks asap. the reason warrior has low energy because they dont need them, adr build ftw.

These noobs don't want to learn, that's the problem. Of course far time ago i was one of them, but just for 2 or 4 weeks. cause i wanted to learn
Even now that i kick ass to everything, i still want to learn. That's the problem. The best class in Guild Wars hated cause of noobs who don't want to learn.

all can i say is LOL.
I farm E V E R Y W H E R E in Tyra A L O N E with W/N. (but tombs)
You dont belive? No matters m8^^ Char's name is Deadly Red Falcon.
Whisp me, let me show how i farm fast and alone fow uw sf and very place u ask.
I quote the first topic, cause IF U KNOW HOW TO USE IT u can do what u want.
Yeah, i have to agree with u if u say that there are lots of nubs in gw but..
it has NOTHIN TO DO with that char class but the person that use it.
I have only 3 lvl 20, that war and a Healer/bonder/55...
I can farm all tyra^^
Ye i have a necro with 15k black armor but dont use it so much i prefer
to be invincible with grenth's balance^^
I tell u a VERY FUNNY thing that happened in fow
Ok i wanted to farm fow
So we started and done 3 quest and close to end the other quest.
A friend of mine was in team, and i told him that we are "hell warriors"
and then... The 2 monks...
Started to say that war is the worst char in game and they the most imporntant char and the best (usual monks that thing they are god lol)
So they stop healing for propouse
All team died... But me and my friend!!!
In that moment they said "lol die man u have no chance, warrior are shits"
and me and Boewulf (friend) started to farm all fow remained, i gone east and he gone west and we SHOWED THEM THAT TANK DONT NEED MONKS LOL...
Funny part now
Beowulf shouted "shard!" and whisped me <come at place near forest>
When i arrived i saw him near a shard...
It was monk's shard!!!
Monk offended us and told we r scammers
So we dropped that shard again and leaved the place, saying:
Leader can return team to outpost without his stupid shard
Oh btw... I dont have secrets im happy if u learn w/n build...
So check it on guru forum... there is a thread called "W/N solo build"
I was w/mo before becomin necro and can say that was hard to change
but when u learn... man... YOU OWN!
And please guys if u read this... And hear some1 tell that war is a noob char..
Tell him to check this thread and, if he dont belive, me or my friend will show him so he shut his noob mouth and learn
Last thing: What bout runners? with runs u can get lvl 20 in 1 day. without u can get lvl 20 by doing boring missions and get droks after 20 of them..
Have ever you asked yourself this: why in droks they all sell warriors weapons and few wep for other chars?

And, btw, i never die also when im w/mo.
HH+bonetti+Hsignet+breeze
And others perfect skills that makes it a perfect W/Mo.
The "experience" is not the time u play the game (i play since old exit of beta)
It depends by how YOU are good at play that char.
If most people say that war is noob, well, that people IS a noob
