I think the problem with ALL warriors falls into two categories...

1. They think they're tanks, but there's no agro control in guild wars (look at the threat system in WoW for comparison). Sure, you've brought a build that can tank the shit out of anything, but guess what, they're all killing the monk. So your tank skills are useless.

2. They try to bring self heals. Terrible idea. You do what you're supposed to do... kill. Let the monks, infuse eles, rits, and n/rts handle the healing. That's what they are there for.

Outside of PuGs that I join just to get masters on missions I've already done, I've played through all three campaigns AND EOTN without warriors (aside from the few missions that REQUIRED me to bring a specific hero war). They are NOT needed at all.

Give me an all-caster team any day of the week and it'll steamroll any warrior based team.

I went through the whole usual evolution playing my Warrior. Mending, Healing Hands, Flare, etc......

Thank goodness I finally found GWG and realized I was playing a BAD Warrior. Hell, the PUGs I was playing with didn't know any difference either. I capped Cleave - and soon after Eviscerate - and it's only gotten better since.

BTW - I point new players to this site and Guildwiki often. Paying it forward - the right thing to do.

yes. warriors should not be healing themselves (like everyone else has said) monks do this job MUCH better. in pve my main goal when im a damage dealer is to kill things fast (expecially the ones attacking monks) to make a monks job easier, you may THINK that healing yourself makes a monks job easier, but it takes away from your damage potential, and your heals are much weaker than a full monks is. conjure skills add 13ish more damage per attack, shock holds people down so you can beat the hell out of em while their down, and grasping earth, making everyone around you hella slow so you can kill them while they are trying to get your monks.

works almost the same in pvp, except (in good pvp) people have brains.

The more offensive and versatile skills are a better choice.

Shock allows a KD, which can also be pumped to 3 seconds using a stonefist insignia. It also allows quarterknocking while using an axe. That's more of a PvP thing though.

War/ele OR War/Rit are the 2 top choices in my oppinion simply for the Conjures/Splinter weapon.

6/7 skills on any good war bar are going to be Warrior skills. That means your going to split your attributes 2 ways (weapon/shield) for those skills. That means you need to make certain that if your taking points out of one of these 2 attributes just for a single skill on your bar it must be worth it.

*Cough*? Yes, Stonefist's lengthens the KD,... By ONE second. And if I remember correctly, it's non-stackable.

One extra second is huge.
3 seconds is all a team needs to get a kill and force a retreat/wipe

I think what hes getting at is that [shock] KD's for 1 second and StoneFist only increases it by 1 second = 2 second KD, the person he quoted stated 3seconds....

One small note as well, for newer players, keep in mind that shock causes Exhaustion that can wipe a wars entire energy bar if you over use it.

This is NOT a skill you wish to spam instantly on recharge.

In which instance, he's wrong - all KD skills KD for 2 seconds unless otherwise stated, therefore [[shock] under stonefist is 3 seconds.

For PvE there are several PvE skills superior to Shock. E.g. Brawling Headbutt and Club of a Thousand Bears (most of the pve mobs aren't human). Some areas also have mobs where kds are useless.

Nem, it's more of a PvP oriented skill anyway. However, if I only had Prophecies, it wouldn't leave my bar because of it's power as a utility skill, even in PvE.

And that's because it's a more PvP oriented skill!
