Default Best Prefix for Eathshaker Builds?

I've never been a huge hammer fan, but I've been playing it a bit after recently coming across a very shiny archaic maul that looks great with my armor. (Thanks Fenrir!) After some tweakage, I'm reasonably happy with my Earthshaker build.

Now the question is: What prefix to put on the hammer?
Zealous because spamming crushing blow + crude swing gets expensive?
Vampiric to leverage the multi-hits on crude swing and whirlwind attack?
Sundering because it's a hammer?
Furious to accelerate the combo?

Vamp hands down. a simple 15^50 +30 will do it. Take an elemental hammer too, seeing as you'll be frontlining, meaning other warriors will be fighting you.

Vampiric is for pressuring, Swap to a sundering for your adrenaline 'spike' aka KD chain ... crits on a lucky sundering are just too yummy.

Forget Furious, it's crap since it add's little to none on any pressure or spike.

And Ele of course if you decide to bash a warrior for a change.

Vampiric as a main hammer. Or Sundering, hammer sundercrits are quite sexy.

When in need of quick energy Esc -> switch, or click -> switch.

Vamp gives the best DPS so that'd be my main. Sundering perhaps. If you find you're having energy problems, have a zealous I suppose.

Since it seems that some people didn't pick it up from my mention of whirlwind attack, this is a PvE warrior.

Bring a Zealous Hammer and a Vamp Hammer, stay on Vamp until you need energy then use Zealous with your AoEs to regain energy.

Take your pick between vamp and sundering honestly. Vamp is better overall but seeing the big sundering numbers makes me giggle like a little schoolgirl. Also pack an elemental for warriors, just make sure to switch back before running to the rangers.

I agree. Zealous is great for the [Crude Swing]>[Earth Shaker]>[Belly Smash]>[Whirlwind Attack]>[Earth Shaker] combo.

But I do also keep a couple of other hammers around for builds in which I don't want to, or it's not appropriate to chuck out huge quantities of Crude Swing. I think typically I keep Vampiric and Ebon Hammers as alternatives.

^^ This is why a lot of PvE players fail - thinking carrying multiple types of hammers is for PvP only. It's sad, really. There's only one PvP post by timebandit. So please, tell me why you wouldn't want an elemental to do more damage against warriors, along with a vamp hammer to do more damage to everything else, along with a zealous hammer if you're having energy problems? You're only hurting yourself if you don't.

So many kids with no common sense in this game. /sigh

Because the bonus damage from the Barbs/MoP your party's curse necro cast on the target is higher than the difference between your vamp and your elemental? Of course, that's only valid if your party has a curse necro.

Smartest Warrior Evar!

If you're fighting melee types with high AL vs. phys. dmg, then an elemental hammer would be a good idea too. It should do more damage than the Vamp Hammer would. [vamp would rock vs. softies since their AL doesn't get in the way of your base dmg]

In that case, switch between Elemental mod and Zealous mod vs. phys. AL bonuses
