Default Ritualist vs Assassin

I'm having trouble -_-
I have a rit who finished the game (I wanted to get my ammy before deleting her)

But now i'm contemplating do i really want to delete my rit for an assassin??

I have so many daggers now and it seems fun to try a new person.

I havent wasted too much on my rit (20k or more) but knowing the stereotypes agaist assassins I'm thinking of just keeping my rit =/,

Are assassins that bad?? Are rits better?

I havent found anything good about a rit, thats the main reason i want to delete her. Maybe I'm just more of a hands on kind of person, rather then sitting in the back lines.

Rits are awesome because they can sit back and spam spirits defensively (take your pick from union, displacement, shelter, soothing, and shadowsong), then contribute to spikes with Channeling magic or help with healing using Restoration magic.

The problem with assassins is that people have no clue how to play them. They're best used when they stand back, wait for a good time to strike, get in quick, unload a combo, then escape. On the other hand, most players just sit there auto-attacking up front with their assassins, which makes them die rather quickly.

it will be harder to finish the game on an assassin. its a lot harder to get groups

not because assassins are bad. most people just don't have any idea how to play them

Ritualists are AWESOME! I made both a Ritualist and an Assassin. However, I had more fun with my ritualist. I can say that they are more versatile. The Ritualist was the first class I used to develop the anti-touch ranger builds, healer-support builds and my spirit spammer builds. It's amazing on how many things I can do with my ritualist. You can almost work their secondary professions well together.

I find it difficult to play with my assassin. I know it isn't a tank but sometimes a single spike is all that's needed to take you out. It barely leaves you enough time to shadow step away, but I'm learning... :P I find most of the secondary builds useless for assassins, except for ele seconday which can help boost your AL or a ranger secondary where you can make use of tiger's fury..

Assassins are challenge...

haha I remember one time I had Recall on this one monk, I died in the front lines, the enchantment was removed and my dead body warped back to the monk...good times.

I do find it hard to find groups with my assassin. Also A/E is a good combo. If you perfect playing it and take your time showing off to others that you are good, then you will get into groups faster. I know that may sound weird but if you are an outgoing player you will express yourself out there and people will remeber you. I type that I'm shock assassin and some how I get into groups alot faster.

You Shouldnt let fears of other people accepting your class stop you, playing as a mesmer i found it a tich harder to get into groups, but the groups i got into were much higher quality, this is the same case with the assassin

As far as Rit Vs Assassin i would go for Rit myself, as Rits are one of the (if not the) most versatile classes in the game, where as there isnt a huge amount an assassin can do

this said assassins are a solid choice as a class, even if not appreciated.

I would Play around with the ritualist, I Played Restoration, Defensive Spirit Spam, Offensive Spirits, Hp Pump, Channeling Nuker, to see how much i liked it

I found i loved every role, prehaps youve played through as a channeling nuker and would have more fun as a Restoration rit, play around, theres a lot you can do

Shock Assassin, are you CRAZY? Putting exaustion on a Character Dependend on energy to be effective, that has a cap of 25 energy?

your one crazy Sin
