Default Elementalist/Ritualist AoE Knockdown Specialist

Was playing with my Rit/E last night and came up with an interesting build that is better suited to an Elementalist/Ritualist.

Let me know what you think, as I am just starting to tinker with this.

Elementalist/Ritualist

15 Fire Magic (11+1+3)
11 Energy Storage (10+1)
10 Communing
1 Earth Magic (0+1)
1 Channeling

Earthbind (Communing) - Binding Ritual. Create a level 7 Spirit. All foes knocked down within its range are knocked down for at least 3 seconds. Whenever this happens, this Spirit loses 33 Health. This Spirit dies after 35 seconds.

Draw Spirit (No Atttribute) - Spell. Teleport target allied Spirit to your location.

Ward Against Foes (Earth Magic) - Ward Spell. You create a ward against foes at your current location. For 9 seconds, foes in this area move 50% slower.

Grasping Was Kuurong (Elite Channeling) - Elite Item Spell. Hold Kuurong's ashes for up to 18 seconds. When you drop his ashes, all nearby foes are struck for 8 damage and knocked down.

Bed of Coals (Fire Magic) - Spell. Create a Bed of Coals at your location. For 10 seconds, foes standing still near this location are struck for 29 fire damage each second. Any foe knocked down on the Bed of Coals is set on fire for 7 seconds.

Meteor (Fire Magic) - Spell. Target foe and all adjacent foes are struck for 112 fire damage and knocked down. This spell causes Exhaustion.

Meteor Shower (Fire Magic) - Spell. Create a Meteor Shower at target foe's location. For 9 seconds, foes adjacent to that location are struck for 112 fire damage and knocked down every 3 seconds. This Spell causes Exhaustion.

Ressurection Signet

To use...

1) Cast Earthbind and Grasping Was Kuurong right before your attack sequence.

2) Find your group of targets and charge into them.

3) Cast Draw Spirit on Earthbind to bring the spirit to the battle.

4) Drop the Grasping Was Kuurong ashes. This should knock down your foes for 3 seconds.

5) Cast Bed of Coals.

6) Cast Ward Against Foes.

7) Cast Meteor to get another 3 second knockdown.

8) Cast Meteor Shower to get another 3 knockdowns in a row.

9) Reapply Earthbind, Bed of Coals, and Ward Against Foes as necessary.

Unless your foes realize what is happening and somehow get out of the Ward Against Foes slowdown before you can apply your Meteor Shower, this should create chain of almost 15 seconds of constant knockdowns, with some serious pain to boot.

is this meant as a pvp build? if so it should be noted that with 0 spawning power and only a modest amount of communing your earthbind will die incredibly fast...
also, you have no defense despite ward v. foes, and no healing of any kind, and absolutely no e-management while relying on 2 exhaustion spells that have 3+ second cast times (with MS taking foreverrrry) each... also you wont get mods from wand/offhand to hopefully quicken your cast/recharge times, while holding grasping was.

i dunno, just pointing out things that strike me as obvious downsides. i really like the concept.

though Amok is right about everything he said at least you are coming up with possible new builds which i suppose is a good thing to do

I thought about this concept myself. Firstly, use Summon Spirits instead of Draw Spirit. Does the same thing only it heals in the process.

Also, I'd ditch the excess spells. Either you support it fully or not at all.

I'd say a Ritualist/Elementalist with points in Spawning Power, Communing, and Earth Magic (or fire magic).

I'd dare say bring Signet of Creation (or Signet of Binding if you have Nightfall) as well to keep it alive.

If you must have higher energy (to replace elementalist energy storage), get Mighty Was Vorizun, which gives energy and armor boost.

I know wanderlust is done often enough, but it is also a possibility since it lies within Communing also. The real trick is having a Earthbinding/Wanderlust/Dragon Stomp/Aftershock/ combo going and somehow maintain the spirits long enough to last a typical fight. The signet of creation and signet of binding destroy after 30 seconds, but they'd die a whole lot sooner if you didn't use them.
