I made a rit when factions came out and just didn't enjoy it at all. Recently I realised that it was probably because I simply didn't understand them. A few weeks ago I made a new Rit and stumbled into a whole bushel of offensive spells that interact with spirits and was blown away.

Love playing my Rit now, enough to endure the previously mentioned bone melting boredom of the starter island and am really looking forward to testing new builds when I get my hands on more spells.

I too made a rit during the Factions preview weekend and didn't really like it. It wasn't until about a month ago that I decided to try one out again. I'm half way through Factions and NF with him, and I'm loving it.

I've mainly been a channeler, but I'm starting to dabble in communing and restoration.

I had a heck of a time playing my first one got to House zu Helzer and deleted him. Just couldn’t stand it. Then I researched Channeling and made a new one. Played an aggressive approach and I am still playing one today after finishing all campaigns. Some missions needed that extra ump !! “Gotta to love gimmicky builds” poop you spirits while I pick up a bow and Splinter Barrage all day long. Its like using wood chopper compared to an axe

You're really the opposite of me for my Rit: started in communing and healing party with feast of souls (with high Spawning Power you can heal near or high 100 hp for each spirits destroyed). With communing I was a Spirit Spammer, drop Restoration and do a spike heal + resurrection in the Area.

I agree. I got factions the day it came out and it was like only 2 weeks ago I finaly stuck with a rit. At first when I got the game I was kind of intimidated of their skills and how to use them. Regardless I have made a few rits that never got passed shing Jea and they all ended up getting deleted.

I tried Channeling but it just wasn't my thing. I'm not downing the attribute/skills, but it just wasn't for me. Then I thought Communing sounded fun, but the cast times and energy costs were to much for me. Usualy in a group of real people the mob would be gone by the time I finished setting up my spirits, and at the next mob most of my skills would be recharging.

After that I gave up on them and got nightfall. I played through that with a few other proffesions and took a break from GW for a few months. When I came back I decided to give the rit 1 more shot. I was reading through these forums when I saw a Rt/N minion bomber thread. I decided to give it a shot and although I changed out a few of the skills to suit my taste i'm having a blast minion bombing. The spawning powers from both cantha and elona are working well together.

Now i've beaten factions with this build, and i'm almost done with nightfall. After that i'll head on to tyria and try to beat that as well. Just recently though i've been collecting restorations skills. Although I get so tired of every group I join asking me to go restore, there seems to be a nice set of skills here.

I was looking for an alternate build as a back up for areas where minion bombing isn't a good idea. So i'll be experimenting with restoration off and on. I tried out my minion bomber in FA the other day and it was loads of fun, but I happened to have 2 restoration skills on me although I forget why. Needless to say they saved my skin several times from suprise sin attacks and degen hex spammers.

Anyway i'm glad some of you like this profession. It took awhile to grow on me but i'm glad it did.

It really isn't a surprise that a lot of people who originally tried Rits on Factions release, didn't get them or had little success, but after trying them again enjoy them. The Rit class has been buffed considerably since then. I've played the class since the beginning and can really feel the difference. They are indeed becoming a really good class.

Still a ways to go before they are as solid as the core professions though...

For me ive always liked Rits ever since the first factions preview event trying that resto template build.

But Channeling, i remember not liking it one bit because of slow recharging, low damage spells, now its damage capabilities are huge.

Agreed, the "earshot range" buff really made the class alot more enjoyable to use, for me at least.

Huge damage but they dont have the armor penetration like the elementalist... except If we use Destructive Was Glaive

With the buff for weapon spells. I see less Spirits than before with the Rits but mostly a mix of many attributes that works so well in both PvE and PvP.

Omg guys, how you can stay on Shing Jea island so low if even just trying every secondary profession quest will give you 11lvl and ~4plat(or 2 don't remember exactly) in just 1 hour. Just go and try every secondary profession and then come to Togo and choose one concrete, but u will get reward for each one. Its just hell lot XP in an hour on shing jea.

I have to admit that at first, I only made my ritualist to farm with, but lately I have really enjoyed using him in regular PvE. My favorite way to play one is probably restoration. For some reason, I hate playing a monk but I will rush to be a resto rit any time a person is in need, probably because the style of play of a resto rit is much different then that of a normal monk.

Actually this is very similar reason why I quit playing a MM for a long time. Mob would get wiped and I'd still be trying to raise minions. Finish raising minions then try to catch up to the party and get there just in time for them to finish the mob so I can raise minions and then play catch up some more. Pretty damn useless.

Anyway, I see what you're saying, but it kinda depends on the mobs that you're fighting. I'm probably only about 1/2 through Factions, but the many of the mobs so far seem to be somewhat formidable and I've had little problems setting up spirits in a timely matter. I guess it comes down to the kind of PUG your in. Some people really seem to be in a hurry and just wan to GO GO GO!

Rits are the most versatile class in GW. You can go total damage (channeling), offensive support (offensive spirits, weapon spells), defensive support (defensive spirits, weapon spells) and healing, it is not like: eles do damage, monks heal..you can do everything.

I love to play resto rit in AB. Normally the mobs go for the monk and ignore the rits although they can heal as well as monks. And I made a lot of money with Vwk Farming, so I loooooove my Rit!

Ive been playing on my ritualist for a very long time and i can still say that I have never grown bored of the class at all. There are 1010010 different possibilities for a ritualist. My favorite and i have to agree with Kissa that resto rit is really fun to go in AB because no one expects that your a healer. I never really made that much out of farming though I think I started a bit late.

Yeah, I made my rit just to buy 15k Kurzick armor, and I did and dyed it black. Started him through Nightfall, and gave up. Now I've picked him up again, and it's awesome. My build does 52 damage every spirit attack round. I agree, sometimes spirit spamming is hard when the mobs die fast, but it's still worth it. Plus, a spirit spammer just horribly rips through Shiro in GoM.
