I have a question for the community and hopefully I've put this in the correct place.

I am looking for a replacement bow for my Ranger. Preferably something that is max damage but otherwise the same. At the moment I'm trying for a kind of Poison Master. Stats are:

(Blue)
Poisonous Longbow of Fortitude
Piercing: 13-25 (Req 8 Marksmanship)
Lengthens poison duration on FOES 33% (stacking)
Reduces poison duration on YOU 20% (stacking)
Health +24

Does anyone know where I can find such a weapon? I looked through MappingOut's database of unique bows with poison (Thank You Aylee!). I looked in the wiki at EoTN unique bows since MO doesn't cover them yet. So I'm not sure if this was just a lucky drop, or it's an old weapon and is now kind of "unique" (I turn 3 a month after GW), or what.

Could someone more knowledgeable please advise?

The way to go would be to craft it yourself but the inscription reducing poison on you only apply to focus and shield.

Collector's Long bow: free
Poisonous bow string: aroung 500g
Bow Grip of fortitude: +30 2500g; +29 500g

Looks somewhat unique for a bow, reducing condition duration on yourself is normally not found on weapons.

Yes, that "Reduces poison on you" mod cannot be found on other weapons and cannot be salvaged off that bow.

The OP would do well to find a max damage weapon, and salvage off the poisonous bow string / fortitude mod from his current bow and put it on the new one.

Alas, you won't find any max damage bows with poison reduction on them, that's a weird mod only available on that particular quest reward.

I was afraid of that answer. I've owned GW since just after it started and was offline periodically for a total of a year. So some of my items are prior to weapon mods. I was pretty sure this was one of them because I saw nothing like it either.

Right now, compared to other Rangers, I have the equivalent of a mid-quality 1 handed bow with a low-quality off-hand. Since the bonuses stack, I'm not sure if this makes the weapon of more value than it's appearance indicates. Would a Rune of Purity (non-stacking) cause one or two separate checks for poison duration? Or one check at 40%?

Obviously I could buy/create another bow with some similar stats. I already have a Rune of Purity in my Armor so that is not a problem (I don't always use this bow).

There is no such thing as a 1-handed bow.

GW does allow you to equip an offhand as a bit of free storage, but all bows are really two handed.

Duration is, I think, a % as ratio, not as a chance, so I'd suspect 2 20% mods to shorten poison duration to .8 x .8 = .64.

The bow has a special mod, req 8, near max-damage, it might sell well enough (if not customized). Otherwise I'd keep it around, if this duration mod works for you.

I think it works a bit differently from something I stumbled upon. Look up "40/40" in GuildWiki. (I found that while in PvXwiki looking for a build. The build mentioned the phrase and I looked it up.) I'm going to have to test it and see if the poison duration is functional or not. I honestly don't remember being poisoned with this character, but he's new and I might not have been in suitable circumstances yet.

40/40 usually refers two a set with two 20% 'halves recharge' and two 20% 'halves casting' time, but hose are chances and they stack differently (such a set should be called 36/36 to be more accurate).

Testing is the best thing probably, with Chill Blains you can poison yourself and there's a condition inducing npc on the Isle of the Nameless.

??????? 15^50 is the inscription, +33% poison is the bow string. why cant that be right??????
