if you are looking to dish out more damage go with /ele for conjure spells, [skill]conjure lightning[/skill][skill]conjure frost[/skill][skill]conjure flame[/skill]

I guess for more damage you will want to go for R/E, using an elemental bowstring along with [skill=text]Conjure Flame[/skill][skill=text]Conjure Lightning[/skill] or [skill=text]Conjure Frost[/skill] will add a nice bit of damage to your packet.

Alternatively, if youd like to survive longer. Id go for R/Mo, [skill=text]Mending Touch[/skill] is an amazing skill to use on a ranger. Instant 2 condition removal and the energy used is reduced due to expertise.

if you want dmg go
conjure flame+kindle arrows

if you want survivability
mending touch is your friend

Since the OP is 'new to GW' I'm going to recommend R/E given those choices. There's really only 2 or 3 skills in monk which can *add* damage output and they aren't exactly cheap/harmonious with a ranger. Elementalist despite having many of the more 'controversial' offerings for a ranger skillbar is ALL about +damage. The conjure's are the most economical with conjure flame being by far the best early game choice simply because kindle arrows prep in WS means you don't have to use a fiery bowstring.

And if the OP is new to the game and potentially doesnt own GW:Nightfall so even if they can get mending touch it wont be until LONG after they have unlocked the profession changer allowing them to change from R/E to R/Mo does your suggestion hold any merit? I say no.

/E for Conjures, if you have Guild Wars: Nightfall, /Mo for Mending Touch.

What campaigns do you have?

Rangers are pretty versatile and its hard to go terribly wrong with any secondary. Worst scenario is that you can fill your bar with all ranger skills and survive until you can change your secondary.

I would go /E just because everyone sooner or later hops into the R/Mo Mending Touch bandwagon so you might as well try to enjoy a different class until you can get Mending Touch.

i like to run r/e for massive spike dmg. Usually run:

[skill]Triple Shot[/skill][skill]dual shot[/skill][skill]hunter's shot[/skill][skill]needling shot[/skill][skill]glass arrows[/skill] A Conjure A defence eg WD, LR, [skill]"I Am The Strongest!"[/skill]

using a bow with a bow string that matches the conjure you can hit out huge dmg.
