Default Best AB build?

Okay, ive been doing AB for quite some time, been playing aroud with the glass arrows/ brute weapon or w/e taht rit skill is called, and i find it does massive dmg (hit 129 on an ele before, maybe the nub didnt have max armor?) and i cant STAND the burning arrow/poison build. just wondering if there is anything of a completely different kinda build out there. btw pvxwiki IMHO = fail.

Cripshot > all.

Cripshot, Apply Poison, Savage Shot, Distracting Shot, Mending Touch / Blackout, Vanilla attack skill (Sloth Hunter's Shot / Screaming Shot), Natural Stride, Troll Unguent.

12+1+1 Expertise, 9+1 Marksmanship, 9+1 Wilderness Survival.

And yeah, it's on PvX-wiki. Some, and yeah, SOME builds are good on it, but very rare.
Cripshot is in all reality one of the most flexible Ranger bars around.

I personally prefer cripshot. You could use the escape scythe if you wanted.

Cripshot is crazy flexible, and my personal favorite.

Why can't you stand Burning Arrow poison builds? It works and it's effective at taking down shrines and almost anything.

I usually run a Burning Arrow + Pin Down + Read the Wind build.

Snide remark about there being no 'best build' here?

I have to say I could never get into Cripshot, but yeah, loads of people love it, so I'd try it out and see if it suits your playstyle.

These are the 2 ranger builds I most enjoy playing in AB:

[build prof=R/Mo name="BHA Ranger" box Exp=12+1+1 Marksmanship=9+1 WildernessSurvival=9+1][Broad Head Arrow][Distracting Shot][Sloth Hunter's Shot][Pin Down][Apply Poison][Natural Stride][Mending Touch][Troll Unguent][/build]

[build prof=R/P name="Packhunter" box SpearMastery=12 BeastMastery=9+1+1 Expertise=9+1][Spear Of Lightning][Blazing Spear][Merciless Spear][Poisonous Bite][Tiger's Fury][Heal As One][Charm Animal][Run As One][/build]

Marksmanship: 9 + 1
Expertise: 12 + 1 + 1
Wilderness Survival: 9 + 1

Keep the preparation up as much as possible. Use Natural Stride as much as possible to run around the battlefield, and Troll Unguent as a self-heal. Antidote Signet can be used to clear Blind, though this can be replaced with [Mending Touch] to remove a wider variety of conditions. On a side note, Mending Touch is also affected by Expertise in that it's energy cost is reduced.

The Optional Elite Slot could be one of a few attack skills depending on what you want to do. [Crippling Shot] can be used if you want to control the movement of enemy groups. [Burning Arrow] can be used if you want to inflict decent damage and Burning on foes. [Broad Head Arrow] can be used if you want to be able to shut down enemy casters.

The other Optional Slot could be [Rending Touch], [Throw Dirt], or another sensible attack skill, such as Screaming Shot to enable you to inflict another condition.
Packhunter (Requires Paragon Secondary):
Quote:
[build prof=R/P name="Packhunter" box spear=12 expertise=8+1 beastmastery=10+1+3 desc="Weapon #1: Vampiric Spear{br}Weapon #2: Zealous Spear{br}Weapon #3: -2(stance) Shield][Spear of Lightning][Blazing Spear][Merciless Spear][Tiger's Fury][No Skill][Heal as One][Charm Animal][Signet of Return][/build]

Beast Mastery: 10 + 1 + 3
Spear Mastery: 12
Expertise: 8 + 1

This build combines the DPS of a Spear with the bonus of Adrenal skills, with the DPS of your pet with a high rank in Beast Mastery. Beast Mastery, at 14, will cause Tiger's Fury to last for 11 seconds. Your weapon, instead of being a Bow, should be a Spear and Shield. Although you will not meet the requirement for the shield, you will still get 8 Armor from one, along with the additional mods, so it is well worth taking one than not. You can take your pick with the spear attacks on the whole. Deep Wound is always favoured, and can be obtained from Vicious Attack, or Merciless Spear.

The Optional Slot can be [Feral Aggression], [Disrupting Throw], [Disrupting Lunge], [Poisonous Bite] or [Run as One] - basically, anything that makes sense and works well with the build. The elite can be changed to suit. It is also possible to switch the elite out for something like [Enraged Lunge], though you will have to then find space for [Comfort Animal] to allow you to resurrect your pet.

This build is resilient and can prove to be a formidable foe in Alliance Battles and the like.
If you want "different"...try Packhunter. It's a pretty fun, different build to just using a bow. Only thing is, if you use it in AB, take out the Res.

Maximum degen is -10.
The extra degen, in all reality is just countering regen.

Burning arrow, Crip shot, and Prep shot are all good bow choices but I do like to take a break from bow when I AB and go RaO spear or standard thumper. RaO is unmatched in usefulness in AB (with decent exp investment, it's a perma 33% speed boost between shrines on top of it's nasty 33% IAS) and it's unstripable. Your pet is also very valueable, and is able to draw out NPC's to waste their skills, effectively helping your team out a great deal.
And even if you go HaO spear, you still have access to "fall back" and GftE. Although it's usually bad to spec into 4 attributes "fb" and "GftE" are both effective with minimal spec (w/e points you have remaining work, but 4 spec is ideal)

Whatever you do do NOT use Escape Scythe. They are so easily brought down it is unbelievable. The extremely common Wild Assaulter Sin destroys it.

Default Pumba and You - a build by me.

My own build and its call Pumba and You

Using the shield and spears for extra energy and health boost, if you prefer you can always use a bow.

It's R-Any Beastmaster.

[Pumba and You;OgASYZMPrydTtp3Mb8NrsND]

[Pumba and You 1;OgASYZMPryZ5tp3Mb8NrsND] ^^ you can play around with the beast mastery skill to suit your needs

[Pumba and You 2;OgASYZMPrya5tp3Mb8NrsND] << or this

you should also have this equipment code:
Pk5RRPFoCTaIqpWVqQhlI70YjlIBLtiZJdRpg2IBr7hGJBL

a even better armor set
Pk5RRPFoCTaIqpWVqQh2I90Yj2IDLti2IdRpg2IDr7h2IBL

the skill bar is self explanatory, heal when you need it, apply poison when you are entering a battle, you can also swap predator's pounce for [poisonous bite] because apply poison is very costly interm of energy, and you don't need comfort animals because heal as one will res and heal your animal. I choose those 3 beast skill because they cost 5 energy and have the fastest recharge time. and 2 of them are interupt-able skills. alway open up your animal control bar, select your target and put your animal on attack mode.

Just one word, don't use it against me, hahahaha

if anyone can tweak it to become better, please feel free to discuss. I've been using this a lot in AB and its very good.

P.S:
something regarding [Burning Arrow] + [Apply poison] Vs [ignite arrows] + [Poison Arrow]

see the energy cost and recharge time, they are self explanatory. My preference has always been [ignite arrows] + [poison arrow] the rest of the bar is pretty much exchangeable, if you want to interrupt bring the interupt skills and what not. but those 2 must be in 21 second poison + extra damage to adjacent foes. tab your way thru the enemies and poison them and let ignite arrow do the extra damages, interrupt as needed, and use a longbow for the extra advantage.

hrmzz hope it won't be nerfed lololol...

P.S: it is good for RA as well
