I don't like the way they rate stuff on PvX. They're also always quick to bash you for not bringing a Res in pve. When I actually used to bring one, it was a fat waste of space more than half the time.

1. PvX wiki is full of idiots who havent tested a build in years.
2. this in no way requires a human necro. the only nessicary skill on that bar that is not a pve skill is assassin's promise.




anywhoo, my rit is loving this build. its really easy to tage a target for the necros and then throw out a few support spells and tag another. Ill post my variation once i perfect it.

just one piece of advice though: the necros are a little slow at using discord, so i bound all of my hero's 'cast skill 1' commands to one button. i think this is impossible from in guild wars though. Im using an ideazon merc so it was easy to bind, and the heroes are doing great when i give them a little more direction.

I'm so clueless when it comes to macros but I might have to try that out. Sometimes I want them to cast Discord on a target but they're busy doing other stuff so I binded all 3 Discords to 3 keys. I usually never micro it, but was doing it alot in Slaver's - being able to spike targets clean before the monks could do anything helps alot.

As for the player's bar, a human Nec isn't needed of course. I'd still recommend use of Assassin's Promise combined with some pve skills. Each class has some good skills that primary nec can't use:

A Mes can use Cry of Pain for insane aoe damage. An Ele could bring Intensity for a perma damage boost. An A/Me could spec higher into Deadly arts giving more energy and time to kill the target from AP. A Rit could help blow up stuff with Splinter spam. A monk spec'd into Smiting could actually cast Judge's Intervention on minions for some random huge single-target damage. Those are just some examples.

what i have is the 3 discords set to , . and ; and then one of my macro keys set to hit all three. and yeah, the splinter spam is great. my casting order has been like this for a few days.
Ap>ymlad>discord spike>splinter>AR>repeat.... every 5 seconds. its nice

The MM. pretty standard really, basically just replaced Jagged bones for discord and Nova for a rez.

Malign Intervention makes targets die faster along with summoning an extra minion that Master of whispers can steal. Death nova can be cast on the minions still, and the last few slots will hopefully keep the party alive a little longer.

I find my heroes don't really use malign intervention very much, so i just run extra normal summon spells on my necros (areas i've been playing usually have plenty of corpses)

putting death nova on the healer and a 10e hex is not a good idea...
You can get rid of SoLS if you replace those.

I think the bigger problem on the healer is giving him Death Nova - heroes will sometimes get distracted trying to cast it on minions. Put it on a nec with a less "important" roll.

Lotus, I'm not sure which PvE skills you have access to but if you can, I'd definitely recommend "Finish Him" over Augury - instant cast deep wound + armor ignoring damage is too good to pass by. Normally I wouldn't even use that on any random bar but with AP recharging it to be used on everything you target, is crazy good.

yeas, ill move nova laster today and try to update it. also, I never played my rit much, so i dont have many PvE skills (not even "finish him"), but thats not my reason for augry of death. I need it because, honestly, im terrible at AP. targets dont die sometimes because of my terrible timing and then i need another hex to fillin the recharge time.

augry also help take down harder targets. when combined with cruel was daoshen it privides a spike and deep wound as soon at the target hits 50%.

Ill probably switch vampirism for some better PvE skills later on.

I have used a lot of times this teambuild. Some critic tough:

- Healing Ring, I dont see them used many times
- Vegeance, I dont like it, because IF a hero or I die it isnt a nice res for 30 sec.
- The most important thing: DISCORD. I see they used it well, but often I want they use it and then they dont...
- Minions, you can better have animated bone minions.

Both necros are running at 16 death magic, and the rit is at 16 channeling.

It's been working incredibly well for most areas, as long as there are a decent number of corpses. Sometimes I bring technobabble instead of YMLAD. I find myself most of the time to be spamming AP, YMLAD, Finish Him, and Pain Inverter. Eruption is mainly nice for AoE blind on the hard hitting melee of HM. Splinter weapon absolutely destroys balled up groups.

In EotN I tend to bring both monk henchies, Talon, and Aidan.

I'm sure it could be improved but it works well enough for me.

I've been a little interested in Discord since they reverted the casting time for PvE. Actually I tried to run it before then as a 4-N team... it worked pretty ok but I was intelligent enough to only bring Disease and ran into Shards of Orr...

Skills to consider would be Epidemic, Hypochondria, Fevered Dreams (yes, I know it's an elite and the recharge freaking sucks so probably not), some way of applying Burning and Blind...

I'll give this some more serious thought when I get home from Stockholm... right now I can't access Guild Wars.

Very true... I'm actually surprised that I managed to get one 5-vetted build over there. Still the first replies to THAT build were of the "diz sux" variety with absolutely no thought involved... and I have some truly epic discussions among my build talks...

i gave it all a try and did change it up a little but i think it works well and i hope to do more testing btw i did all my testing in hard mode in 5 easy areas and 5 areas i consider hard and it worked equally well in both

i run necro primary myself and i found Soul Bind to work much much better then Assassins promise if i am honest. Especcialy against destroyers (it triggers on inner fire so thats easy dmg). My Final bar looks something like this:
Curses:12+1+1
Soul reaping: 9+1
Deadly Arts:0

Soul bind (main hex)
You move like a dwarf (main condition)
Augury of death (cover hex vs Destroyer of toughts and good for taking down monks)
Enfeebling blood (AoE condition)
Technobable (usefull against charr eles)
Suffering (AoE hex)
Mindbender (who doesnt love half casting times?)
Signet of Lost Souls (e-management for long lasting boss fights@ end of a dungeon)

yeah tons of other professions have builds that pwn with assassins promise.

a/anything deadly art spammer
a/p spear sin
mes/a

etc

personally i prefer Finish Him over YMLAD but both are good pve only skills.
