Ok i made the bomber build and starting farming griffons when stone summit heretics came and killed me. They either used cripling anguish and conjure phantasm or striped my enchantments(namely protective spirit, which probably could have been avoided if i had ordered them better). How do you get around or kill these hertics, because once passed them i know i can kill the griffons.

Sorry to anyone that read my guide between 2:45 pm and 3:25 pm PST and found it was FUBAR. I was trying to add some HTML tags to link the skills and messed the whole thing up. It's back to normal now. I'll give the links another shot tomorrow.

Wish I wouldn't have tried, because now I realized that my ranger is a better farmer than a 55 necro that farms griffins, trolls or minotaurs. Ice Imp and Ice Golem drops are much better and more frequent.

Still a nice guide though.

You're doing something wrong then. The only advantage my ranger has over my 55 hp necro is the grawl EoE bomb. It's not the most profitable , but it's so much fun killing 30-40 grawl at once

It's not about doing something wrong. I see my necro killing the trolls / minotaurs and they hardly drop because they are over-farmed and then my ranger killing the imps / golems and *almost" everything drops at least an average worth of ~75 gold.
Necro getting 200-300 gold per minotaur run which takes 3 minutes and is not reliable because of the farm protection and the ranger gets at least an average of 1400 gold per 10 minute imp run. You do the math. Unless you find a fancy place to farm with the necro the ranger run is just more profitable and easier to do aswell.

Hope you can see why I am disappointed. I expected the 55 necro to outdo any ranger soloing by far, but that's not the case.

That "fancy place" would be the underworld. Maybe you didn't notice all the talk about it at the beginning of this thread.

Nomed , there are alot of other options besides the noobie troll, mino runs. Ya it's fine and dandy to kill them if you don't have favor and/or trying to reset your anti-farm. If you're looking to get rich you wont get very far in that direction killing imps/trolls/mino's. Try taking on harder enemies that are more rewarding in the higher end areas of the game.

Each FoW run I do I net at least 20k worth of drops per 1/2 hour( minimum if i pick up all the savageables and valuables.)A few weeks ago in like 5 runs almost 200k worth of shards which that night were going for 4.5k a piece ( these were lucky runs back to back don't expect this to happen everytime.) Not to mention high end rares that were either sellable or salvageable for upgrades to sell. 15>50 shadow bow, 14% stance shadow blade, 14>50 shadow blade. How long would it take you farming the enemies you mentioned to make that kind of money?

It's not the build, its the areas you are choosing to farm with it. Those enemies are practice to get used to the build. Thats why they were included in the various guides floating around and videos that I have made available.

Every farmer knows you have decent runs, some more not so good runs, and those runs that make it all worthwhile. We don't delete our farmers cuz of a bad run or 2. You just keep at it, or go pvp, quest, or help out others.


Anyway as a special treat I am uploading the entire Tower of courage walkthrough ( 1st quest) for FoW. So people that are having problems on which groups to kill in the proper order can take a stab at it. 5k exp reward for completion, a chance to get a rare skinned item, and various other types of drops along the way. Will take awhile since its 36 minutes in length so i'll post the link w/e it's finished.

Just to ask in relation to this, does anybody know where the collector in the dessert is, and what he collects?

Thanks in advance.

p.s. Excelent guide to a build, i hoped straight on it and am just after Villnar's Claw to complete it, cant wait to try it


EDIT: The collector Hangs around outsid eof Dunes of Despair and takes 5 Jade Mandables. just for anybody that didnt know like me

may i suggest using paristic bond insted of shadow of fear. parasitic only has a 1 sec cast time and a 2 second recharge. also it means that the sod you have cast ss on wont be attcking at 50% less than normal so ss will do more dmg in a shorter space of time. also you will be healed at regular intervels should push come to shove with the creeps. however vry nice build you have made me want to try it keep up the good work

Some people just don't understand that you cannot cover Spiteful with a single target hex without draining their energy.

Smites will target each other with their monk spells, this includes Smite hex.

Parasitic bond will not work. I didnt just say hey, why not put shadow of fear to use in a solo build for a change. Multiple builds and cover hexes were used and shadow of fear is the most efficient in this case. If you are runnning the build right shadow of fear is always smite hexed, meaning the attack speed slow down is unimportant because they remove it.

Hi and thank you for this guide, it is brilliant and must have been a lot of work

After a lot of necro farming, i came to use a different build depending on where i'm farming basics always remain the same here they are:

Mending, Balthazar's spirit, essence bond, healin breeze, protective spirit, spitefull spirit.

Then depending of the place i swith between several skills to fill the 2 empty spots :

Augury hydras :
Suffering & desecrate enchantments
Elona Minotaurs:
Guardian & vigourous spirit (if you take them all @ once including those @ the back) if not guardian & suffering.
Elona drakes:
Guardian & desecrate (if you want to kill the rockshots) suffering & desecrate (if you flee) btw wurm appear sometimes run to the drake bosses and use ss only on them, wurm will die you'll only have to finish the boss. I would recommend to stay far from the scarabs.
Beetletun ettins:
suffering & necrotic traversal as poison helps to counter the damn healin signet ne need to use loads of points in death magic though a few seconds are enough. Btw to get to the ettins bring your usual armor , kill the mergoiles, then the tengus always wide first and then change armor cast everythin and you're ready to rock

Well i hope this will be of a little help & that it hasnt been already said.

Great guide dood..can't wait to get home and knock the dust off of my necro...I didn't realize u could just use the cheap scars for a 55 (makes sense now that I think about it) and to turn a necro into a 55 only costing under 7k whe the hell not..thanx for the info..Dark

Could someone tell me the advantages of using a N/mo Vs. a Mo/N?

Same exact build with max curses and other crap.

I realize that there is a slightly reduced dmg output with a Mo/N but now you get a divine leech and a holy weapon (more dmg vs smites). Your superior runes also serve a purpose now too...

Anyways this is all just theory, I've never tryed it. I was just wondering if maybe I am missing some major detail.

Also if you max curses with a monk...

You can get 11 healing, 11 divine, and 11 protection with the monk sups.

Due to poular demand for some larger FoW videos and the fact that factions is not that far away I've decided to release a basic walkthrough video of the tower of courage run. Video is 36 minutes in length showing the proper order you should proceed in order to effectively solo the first quest in the fissure of woe.
