Hey guys,

For ages I have been looking for THE PvP build on my necro, you know, the ones that get you all excited and want to play it all day long. I have been wanting to make my necro my main for ages but just couldn't find the right build. Now then; I have finally found it. As it's my main I wouldn't mind spending quite a big amount of money on my wand/focus item to pimp my main char up a bit. My build is focussed on Death Magic. Though the problem is, I really can't find ANY nice weapons.

The only nice wand I've found so far is the "Platinum Scepter". I took a green unique weap with the same skin (blood magic unfortunately). This is what it looks like:

The problem is, this weapon is (I think) only available for PvP chars, by spending A LOT of balth faction to get up to exotic weapons and then make this. So affraid it's not avail for PvE chars. The little sister version, the Platinum Wand doesn't look nearly as nice.

Then I have a problem with two other popular items: froggy and celestial compass. The froggy looks a bit too happy and shiny to set the image necromancers have. And the celestial compass is VERY tiny and kind of dissapears in my chaos gloves.

As well wands like the tormented wand seems a bit cheesy.. The only wand that might look alright I've found so far is the Tengu Scepter. Obtained through Bonus Mission Pack:

Though I have no idea if there's an animation in the glow etc like the Platinum Scepter has.

For an offhand I am totally clueless... they all seem bad, bad, bad!

Anyone else has found this same struggle and perhaps found a nice solution? Any ideas are more than welcome!

Kind regards,
Appeltje Ftw

Wow,I totally understand you. I have an Elonian Necromancer with the same armor as you.I really love him and want him to be my main but I cant find a "fun" build(tired of using SS,MM or Life Transfer etc.)...Whould you like to share me that build you found ingame(Dark Blood Crysis) or in a PM

As for weapon, the Bone Dragon Staff is awsome on Necromancers(I think its called like that)

I'm going to stop you in your tracks right now and tell you that there are 'no' (read='None') 'decent' death magic builds for pvp. Not one.

Jiggles i dont think they were asking for an opinion on builds. not sure but i believe this is about pimpin his main.

Ive had the same issues tryin to find an Ele set i like. The BDS isnt bad but kind of the FotM. Id take a look at some of the weapons from the BMP. I think some of the skins are pretty damned sharp.

yea no death magic in pvp

but if you want a cool looking staff for death magic, i prefer using The Woe Spreader. it has these stones or something that revolve around the head of the staff and looks pimp.

Aye, The Woe Spreader and BDS look very nice. Not too sure if BDS is a FotM though, been going strong for quite a while now. The problem with staffs though is: I would like to have 40/40 in DM. So a staff is not going to cut it.

The BPM skins are quite decent, not too sure yet on Tengu Scepter.

I just demand Arenanet to add Platinum Scepter! :/

Woe spreader may look ok but for all reasonable purpose the mods are totally wrong on it.It wastes the staff head and staff wrapping slots to +HP mods (hale staff head and staff wrapping of fortitude) and not mods that would actually be useful.

You could go for a boar scepter or wayward wand. Finding an inscribable version of those could be a little tricky to find, though.

The main trouble here is the OP is determined to use DM, if he ran curses he could carry any shield or offhand of choice and a good looking spear, i prefer a black dyed serrated spear over the ever popular and massively overpriced VS, but all armour/wep sets looks will be subjective.

Calista Edit: Thumbnailed pic.It was pushing forum size out.

If you REALLY REALLY wanted to run Death Magic, you should probably use Rotting flesh, but there is really no good build for death magic, you're better on blood/curses.

Edit: Avarr's Scepter doesnt look to bad

The Charr Staff out of the BMP is nice.
It fits the Death theme pretty well.
As for a focus that won't get lost in the shiney gloves, the Undead Focus, also out of the BMP, isn't too bad.

Bonus Mission Pack stuff, basically. The ones aside from tengu that you've seen are a Necromancers dream. But then, I can only assume you've been here:

...and already decided "DO NOT WANT"?
