ye um.. thanks for the help you didnt give. anyhow. i solved the problem myself thru blood & domination. dont always win. but am now the last 2 die, so am happy. in regards to your "suggestion" am pretty sure most people like to pvp all the way up.. thats why there are 1-10 and 0-15 pvp arena's passing it off the way u did was just unhelpful. ciao

=*= I am only level <a>. I do not have skill <b> and <c>. I only own campaign <d>. Please give me a build =*=

First you need to understand what restriction this puts on people trying to help you. It is hard for us to know exactly which skills you have, what armor you're using, what monetary resources, and which skills you are able to buy at your point in the game. So, this is going to be generic advice only. It will also hold true for all classes.

The builds presented below are all level-20 builds, and they incorporate the skills most beneficial to them, including the elite skills. What you could try to do would be to find a close match to any skill you are missing. For example, if you're instructed to use Spiteful Spirit, it could be replaced with Mark of Pain or Insidious Parasite.

The second thing to understand is that you are limited. You don't have a fully-fledged character yet, and your skill usage must reflect this. You shouldn't mindlessly spec into six different attributes. Concentrate. Concentrate on the one role you wish to perform. Use only your primary attribute and one other attribute. Only include a third attribute if you really, really, really have to.
And:

Quote:
=*= Please give me a good PvP Blood build for Alliance Battles and Random Arenas =*=

Run this:

Necromancer/Any
Blood Magic 12+1+x (x=1-3)
Soul Reaping 12+1

- Angorodon's Gaze -

Three optional skills. Optional include a Resurrection skill for RA (Resurrection Signet or possibly Death Pact Signet), Well of Blood for AB (this one is a no-brainer for AB), Dash, Gaze of Contempt, Strip Enchantment, Jaundiced Gaze/Vampiric Gaze, and maybe some sort of interrupt or snare.

Elite can be replaced by Soul Leech or Life Transfer. Life Tranfer is a very weak elite with an atrocious recharge, but new players like it, and it adds marginally to their survival without them having to really think about who they are casting on. Soul Leech will add massively to your survival if used correctly, and Spoil Victor is perhaps the deadliest hex spell in the game. This is a resilient build that works fairly well.

=== Please give me a good SS build to use in Alliance Battles ===

A decent SS build will prove pretty effective in Alliance Battles on several maps. It takes advantage of NPCs and human players mobbing, and can provide some nice pressure. There are other builds better suited to take down a single target, but many people frequently run SS builds in AB with good effect.

This is an example:

Necromancer/Assassin
Curses 12+1+x (x can be 1-3)
Soul Reaping 12+1

Hexer's Vigor - Defile Defenses -

One optional skill.

A decent SS build for PvP should have at least one AoE hex to pressure enemy monks - Suffering serves this function. Usage is straight-forward; Spiteful on any, Insidious on melee, Defile Defenses on rangers, assassins and maybe monks. A simple enchantment and a speed boost add to the survivability of the build.
The answer is in the sticky.

Default Quick Question

I'm an N/E and want to know what you think of my build and what do you think I should change, if anything. I would love input from the man himself! PvE char only.

16 Death Magic
12 Soul Reaping

Bone Horror
Bone Fiend
Glyph of Renewal
Veritas Sacrifice
Blood of the Master
Death Nova
Deathly Chill
Rez Sig

I play a Minion Master and would like to know if there is anything I should add or take away to be a more effective MM within a group. I don't want to be that MM that nobody wants on their team!! LOL

P.S.
I know you gave suggestions for a MM build already, but your build was not a build for N/E. So, I was hoping you might be able to throw your two cents at me. And if you think an N/E build as an MM is crazy, then let me know. I'm up for constructive advice.

Glyph of Renewal as your elite _is_ crazy, at least on that bar. I see some people using it with shambling/vampiric horrors but the result leaves something to be desired. Using with with verata's sac is kinda *sigh*.

You have no self heal. No self defense. I'd suggest a moderate spec into blood with Blood Renewal and Dark Bond, plus Aura of the Lich as elite. This basically means going N/Any (with no E skills or spec.), which normally is your strongest option (compared to N/E).

If you really want to use your ele secondary I'd use it for wards. Maybe some earth self defense.

Default Another Question

You seem to give Aura of the Lich and Order of Undeath equal praise. Do you have a preference for MM builds? What do you use as your elite when doing PvE?

Lich MM is easier. OoU is more macho. But you can't really run OoU with the shitty self-heal options of the N line, or the non-existent ones of the E line (at least for a non-primary.)

The few instances I run an MM build on myself, I use OoU... because I'm macho

I don't give heroes dedicated MM builds, I give them MB builds.

On a side note I don't really feel that the damage advantage of OoU is that insane anymore when you take into account both a PvE ward like EbonBattleStandardOfHonor, and combining it with a curser running Barbs/Mark Of Pain, where it's more a question of "maintaining as many physical attackers as possible". And that certainly is a lot easier running Aura of the Lich.

Oh and if you like running with bear huggers, Ursan Roar will raise the damage of the minions by an armor-ignoring +.

Default Last Question...Maybe

I'm sure you get a thousand people asking for specific numbers...I guess you can add me to that list...heh. I have 16 Death Magic and 12 Reaping on my MM for PvE. You mentioned I should put some in Blood Magic as well. Could you state exactly how you would distribute the points? Please? Thanks in advance.

some good general spec spreads without runes are:
12-10-8
12-9-9 and
11-10-10,
look at skill break points and take into account what benfits you're reaping from each attribute spec.

^ good general guidelines for deciding how to spread attribute points so you're not in need of other people giving you their exact point spreads.

for your case drop soul reaping down to 10 or 8 and up blood depending on which skills you're going to use.

EDIT:
actualy read through the page and read your post+your build....and...Moloch was saying, basicly, don't run that...
try sticking to one of the builds he's already listed or mentioned here, glyph of renewal+vereta's just doesn't justify the use of your elite slot and secondary when BotM and FftD still do the job much better.

Spec 8 in Blood to get +5 HP regeneration through Blood Renewal, 10+1 SR, 12+1+3 DM. This is the point spread nearly all human MMs use, with 8 in your self-heal attribute.

I see some MMs in AB...why don't they use the AoTL build? It seems to me that the number of touch rangers are declining so wouldn;t AoTL be safer and easier to run?

You may not see any because some MM's don't like using it due to it's 'Enchantment' status and then they opt for the good ol'Fleshy.

If your talking typical AB then there is some to Alot of Enchantment Hate in regular AB, I for one don't go in without atleast one Enchantment Removal spell When playing caster class. Though i have been playing some AB recently and seen no Enchantment Hate in the last 2-3 games i was in.

Hope that's the answer you were looking for.

The life-loss from [Order of Undeath] does not trigger [Masochism].

Did it before? Because the guide implies it does.

I've checked the "restored" Order of Undeath.

It no longer triggers Masochism, because the spell no longer sacrifices health upon activation. The life loss from the minions hitting a target has never triggered Masochism.

If you have a build I think you might generally want ask for input in the "Necromancer" Forum instead of this thread.
